Loved the monetazation rant, I'm so happy there are still indy games out there that will never be pay to win and are still old school... I bounce around between games and I still play a 25 year old game more than any other for a reason... it was built well with heart.

I loved it as well, just 2 points were missing. The people are fundamentally at fault, if it gets sales it will go on. And PoE is free to play cost 0. D4 costs what? 50? 60? you can get your stash tabs in peo for 10 or 20 bucks. Basically the game costs 10 or 20 bucks or more if you so choose. Its propably the best version of long time monetization, at least as far as I know.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this playthrough, and honestly I would probably enjoy it even more if it was twice as long. I love the idea of building up a character slowly and not just rushing through as soon as it's technically possible to get past the act boss. I could watch Llama farm for the right bows and runes for hours.

This right here. Last year I did my first hardcore character ever. Offline. It was a sorc, and I loved the experience of finding random blue quality upgrades, shopping for gear, crafting, farming, etc. All while being super careful. I'd really like an even more difficult experience...so one day it's gonna be solo self found/offline hardcore physical bowazon. I gotta at least try.

I don't mind at all that PoE sets it up so that you need to buy currency tabs to make the game more enjoyable, because it's F2P at its base and doesn't give you any pay to win options. With D2R, the BASE Diablo 2 game back in the day came with unlimited character slots and stash tabs due to the simple fact that you could create as many accounts as you wanted, which makes the current lack of character slots and stash tabs extremely frustrating, even if they added an option to buy additional tabs or character slots like what PoE does, because in addition to being worse in terms of storage space than the original game, D2R is STILL a game that you have to buy in the first place and isn't F2P. That said, what I'd like to see is: Stacking Currency - Free Shared Currency Tab - Free 50 total Character Slots - Free 5 total Regular Shared Stash Tabs - Free Additional Character Slots - $ per slot Additional Stash Tabs - $ per tab Most people will be just fine with the base game that they paid for, at that point. And people who need more have an option available to them.

Especially because with PoE, the "mandatory" currency tabs are about 25 dollars. You want to splurge and drop 50-60 and you're doing fantastic. Diablo 4 where I live is literally 100 dollars on its own

I use multishot if there are large groups and strafe if there are 5 or less monsters. Having knockback helps a ton!!

How does strafe work with IAS? I’ve been just tearing whole screens apart with high attack speed using multi shot. I’m super squishy with high DPS, idk if I’d survive being stuck in place so much with strafe lol

@@johnjefferson1104 it does! Spitting out arrows as a MF. The more IAS the faster the strafe. The lock isn't that long and if you use it strategically you're gonna be fine. I maxed out strafe, multi shot and guided arrow, so it's very versatile.

@@johnjefferson1104 nothing crazy to be honest: buriza-do kyanon ballista crossbow (gives a 100% pierce) - working towards getting wind force or faith; high lords, laying of hands, shako, goldwrap, war traveler boots, duriel's shell, two rare rings with resist - all I was lucky to get so far. Plus physical sunder charm. When I upgrade the weapon its gonna be even deadlier.

D2 is a niche game, created with quality in mind. The blizzard sauce at the time is what makes the old StarCraft and W3 so great too. They were generous with the content the game could offer, they didn't have the luxury to hold your balls for months with some online, live service or preorder crap. You bought the cd, if the game was crap it would be in a corner collecting dust and you would never care for any dlc. Videogame companies nowadays are really greedy and it's backfiring on them.

I would prefer the sharktooth over peace since you’re kiting quite a bit in hell anyway. The ability to cut regen on poison immune monsters is also a bonus. Or maybe the zon runs too slow with the armor weight?

I know the Sigon's is super sweet, but if anyone's going to spend time playing this character, I recommend crafting knockback gloves until you get a pair with 20IAS.

You dont get to the "windforce" stage till you get a sorc with a torch,anni and fully decked out MF gear. I have been playing this game casually since 2000s and i have never self found a windforce or a giant skull. The rarest item i have found was griffins and that took me probably about a year to find when i was running Baal with my paladin without enigma... highest rune i have ever self found wad Sur. You are not finding giant skull or let alone windforce unless you are constantly running Hell baal AND at a high players setting. And then at that point im sure you have a really strong hdin or sorc doing it. Most bowazons will be using as good of a insight as they can get or even a hustle if they cant find a 4os bow.

But for solo finding without trading anything, it is extremely difficult to get anything worth a single hr let alone a faith or windforce which have very hogh rarities

I am about to be in Hell with my First amazon Physical Bowazon. Definitely one of the most fun and engaging characters to play. Much more fun than the summoner druid, he was ok but kind of boring. Amazon is fun next ill do a Javazon

Durial dropped 2 class items1:24:11.. I wish they would bring back the Duriel quest item drop bug or patch it like they did with andy. I like teeth its a lot like multi shot. Wish they made it a stronger skill for AOE damage du to I hork the bodies and don't use CE. I love doing LK like that But my complaint is the gold doesn't get picked up un less you circle back to it :(

I played PoE off and on, but always end up dropping it, I never really even got to maps which I think is the end game. If I get into PoE 2 though I'd be fine with spending a little bit of money on stash tabs. I doubt D4 will hold my attention, probably for longer than 3 but I see too much 3 DNA in it. I do like that PoE has SSF and no forced instances of random people fighting with you in the world. I don't enjoy the crowded towns, but I can deal with it fine then go off and do my own thing; not forced mmo elements for those who want to play solo like in D4.

It actually depends on the person. For us people with decent income, paying for convenience isnt really that much of a big deal. It isnt predatory for us because we know we can afford it and not big of a deal. Its like asking why am I driving a ferarri instead of porsche. Both gets you to your destination, both are fast enough for highway driving, both are decent, but one looks better than the other and i dont mind paying for it. Only if you are poor you become a prey for these people. For others, its nothing. I do not deny its pay to win though. Its 100% pay to win. Im okay with it because its really not a lot of money lol. What is money for if not to spend on something you like.

The single thing that has made multi-player D2 (LoD) into a pointless hot mess, is "non-consensual hostility". This immensely counter-productive "feature" is an open invitation for griefers (most of whom cheat with hacks like the notorious TPPK) to ruin co-operative multi-player D2 games by murdering otherwide friendly D2 players, "because they can". "Non-consensual hostility" is, in fact, one of the worst, most stupid design decisions ever made by a game manufacturer -- doubly so because Blizzard has had many opportunities to fix it and has deliberately chosen to leave it in. I will NEVER play vanilla D2 LoD (or D2R), because of this.
