Love them or hate them Jerry absolutely stands behind his products. He gave me shop credit for a knife that had the temper messed up during a regrind. Seriously who does that??!?!? I was prepared to be SOL and he said nope we will take care of you as best we can.

I have beat on my heavily altered CGFBM - used to chop down trees, has not failed me - have not stabbed metal cars, or rocks or anything else, but I am happy with it - and I have not had to stay safe from zombies or escape from being imprisoned - just heavy wood work - and it has held up great

I have about 15 busse knives and 6 swamp rat knives. They all preform beyond anything else I've ever used. My personal favorite is my custom shop liberty heart or the trough raider bowie.

I used to have this blade and along with a Team Gemini Ultra Light Brigade. I liked the TGULB more and I used that one more. Had 17 degree edge per side from Hapstone sharpener. And it was able to take that edge, and had no problems with chipping.

Also all but one or two of my Busse & family knives i ordered the "Danny the Bull" leather sheath that they offer at checkout and can attestthat they are great quality sheaths and very durable...

I’ve said this in another vid. I’ve used a Busse NMFBM to break down logs, for my fireplace. I used a rubber mallet to strike the knife (went trough a few mallets). Did this for a couple of years. Knife blade bent, at times. Always came back true. I’ve got several Busses , but the NMFBM is the only one that I « hard used ». Plenty of other good knife brands…. But a Busse is a Busse….

Heck it is actually part of the testing for the master bladesmiths they bend your knife 90⁰ and see if it takes a set or not...

It costs quite a bit more than $100-$200 for one of those sheaths. In 2021 i paid way north of that for a sheath on Bark River STS7.5 from one you mentioned. Another you mentioned i heard the price and balked & backed out

Sheath is valuable and important. But it warps my mind to pay a price equal to a premium knife that comes with sheath for a premium kydex rig by itself

Of course the cost of the sheath can depend on the maker and how complex a sheath that is wanted, and what materials are requested. REALLY good sheath makers are artists just as much as really good knife makers. It changes with time too. Cost of living has skyrocketed so fast that makers have to start charging more to make their investments and time worth doing. I know I don't even advertise my custom slings anymore because I don't want to raise the prices but I can hardly justify the time to make them, and it used to be my primary source of income. 😓 It sucks.

Good choices on selecting a sheath, all those guys are amazing. Luckily my Swamt Rat Rodent 9 came with a Kydex sheath.

Thanks man! I have a few featherstick tutorials, one where I feather stick left handed with an 8lbs hewing axe. It really comes down to picking the right piece of wood mostly.

White River does rock… I have several of their blades and they are executed perfectly… zero flaws.. wickedly sharp… S35vn… meh, great for edge holding but not the toughest by any stretch… that said.. works perfectly for me.,

I have broken quite a few of them- i am SHOCKED by how tough their s35vn is fwiw! Imho its tougher than 1095 so they are doing pretty well. And now with the offering knives in magnacut!? What a time to be alive!

@@marvinbrock960 yeah magnacut really is sweet imho. In fact if you look at Larrin's testing Magnacut performs almost identically to s35vn save for a few points of toughness and a whole lot of corrosion resistance. It really is amazing.

What are your thoughts/ comparisons between this in the infi, and the Fobos Tier1BC in Magnacut from say a survival/ hard use scenario? There hasn’t been any ‘torture’ testing as to speak anywhere on the BC yet.

I did some torture testing on the bc- it should be in a fobos Playlist. Maybe I'll double check that. Since I have gotten a lot of questions about the tier 1 bc I think I'll review it to death and we will find out!

@@Thepreppersbunkeroutdoors I did see your harder use test mate- but yeah, I think a push to its limits would be great for both for FOBOS and Magnacut. I feel as though Busse has the reputation through being tried and tested, FOBOS hasn’t had it to that extent yet.

When you say the back 40, what does that mean?

Back 40 is generally a military term for an area at the back of a military base that is wooded and can easily be used for small training events or ruck marches. When civilians use it for other people it's generally a derogatory term for being in your back yard when you should be out somewhere in deeper woods.

@Shanghai_Knife_Dude yeah it sold probably well over a year ago to blue ridge knives. Rowan/ Esee I think obtained a lot of the equipment and I'm not sure where they have gotten from there.
