I've said it once before and will continue to say it: Alastor is a biblically accurate devil. What I mean is that, in the Bible, the devil is a prosecutor. He'll do his best to make the judge (god) believe that you are unworthy of redemption and forgiveness. He'll make deals, He'll lead you astray, but he will not harm you directly unless you do something terrible or cross him directly. Jesus is the defence attorny - he'll vouch for you, try to convince his father that you deserve the world and more. There was even a real life lawyer who died trying to prove a cliant innocent, which lines up perfectly with Christ dying for humanity IMO. And in Hazbin Hotel - God's out of the picture, which is why the system is broken, there is no judge. There doesn't seem to be a defense attorny either, though i guess that would be Charlie. But whay good are a defence and prosecutor without a judge?
