I love the symbolism at 11:25. Lucifer’s face just says, “Okay, here we go again,” but in the next scene, when the spears are aimed at Charlie, that’s fear. He’s fine with himself being the target because, as he's the most hated being in all of creation, he’s used to it.

My theory for the ducks is that he was fixated on the moment Charlie first laid eyes on one of his creations, the part where she sneaked in while he was working, and so he held on to that memory of her smile despite being estranged for a long time. There's also that line he sings, "I've missed that smile."

I would agree with that theory. It fits what depression is really like, and what being a father feels like. You hold onto the most insignificant seeming moments because of their simplicity. He held on to that look of wonder and awe. She saw him as the greatest thing ever because he made a little magic duck. For that moment he wasn't Lucifer, the fallen angel, reviled by all... he was the best daddy ever... and she loved him more than anything or anyone.

It’s so funny because Lucifer displays one of the biggest symptoms of depression ; Procrastination. When depressed, you even pass talking to your best friends from out of state because they’re not in your immediate attention.

Whats even more sad, is when you think of it, lucifer can teleport anywhere he wants in hell instantly. So him telling Charlie he will be there in an hour meant it took him that long just to mentally prepare himself to go there. 😢 Also, the beef Alastor has with Lucifer (aside from speculations of who owns him atm), comes from a power struggle between the two. Alastor is able to dominate others via power, but against lucifer he is helpless and weak. But one thing he can control and attempt to show he is stronger is with the connection he has with Charlie. Alastor is all about manipulation, and will do anything to show he is stronger then anybody else, no matter what tricks he uses.

@@diveblock2058 This feeds into my theory: Lilith is not the one with Alastor's contract. SERA is. Sera dislikes the Exterminations. They're a stop-gap measure to, in her mind, keep Hell's population from being able to challenge Heaven. Lilith and Alastor disappeared around the same time. We know Lilith went to Heaven, and the only information we have regarding Alastor's disappearance was that he "almost" defeated Vox, yet Vox is not acting at all like someone who won their feud; he's acting like someone who isn't sure what happened, just that he's terrified of Alastor. So.... Alastor seemingly vanished right towards the end of his feud with Vox, where Alastor was clearly winning, yet in his absence, Vox could claim victory. Interesting. Implies Alastor was almost taken against his will, or at least received an unexpected offer that was more tantalizing than crushing Vox. What's also interesting is that Lilith was allowed into Heaven at all. Sera does not strike me as someone who gives something even that small-for her-to someone without asking for much more in return. So, what could Sera POSSIBLY ask Lilith for? What could she possibly need Lilith to provide? That's actually easy. We know Lilith was essentially trying to run Hell for a long, long time before she separated from Lucifer and vanished, and given it's obvious that almost nobody has even seen Lucifer before, it seems like Lucifer has been an absentee ruler while Lilith did all the actual work until she got frustrated and went to Heaven seeking retirement. So, if Lilith was the only one trying to provide stability and Lucifer is failing to keep order, AND Sera dislikes the Exterminations, it follows that the only thing she could want from Lilith is... A candidate to replace Lucifer as her own puppet ruler in Hell. It's a pretty narrow list of candidates. They'd need to be either a Goetia or a Sinner, as they'd need to also be able to replace Lucifer as the Sin of Pride. But the Goetia are so inured in their own politics that they couldn't be trusted not to scheme against Heaven, so that leaves Sinners, and amongst the Sinners, they would need to be ambitious enough to be willing to replace Lucifer, strong enough to be accepted and respected as a ruler, proud/arrogant enough to fit into the role of the Sin of Pride, famous enough that their word will carry weight, AND they would need to be willing to negotiate with Heaven. That's a short list, and in my eyes, Alastor is right at the top. He's a somewhat younger Overlord(Zestial is several centuries old, Alastor is in the ballpark of one century), but he rose to prominence shockingly quickly, taking out big-name Overlords just to make a statement. That's ambition. He's definitely strong and famous enough to be able to establish himself in a ruling position and be taken seriously, and he's probably the most proud/arrogant person in the show. As for negotiating with Heaven, I recall Viv mentioned that the one person Alastor genuinely loved was his mother, and she is presumably in Heaven, so I suspect Alastor's 'payment' for his agreeing to be her puppet ruler in Hell was to be allowed seven years to live in Heaven with his mother. But now he's in a position where he has the proverbial key to the kingdom already. If Lucifer dies or abdicates the throne, Alastor can call in his favor with Charlie to have her use her authority to give him all of the power and authority instead, giving him a very large portion of Lucifer's power and the right to rule Hell. So if, like he says in the song, figures out how to "unclip his wings" and escape his deal with Sera-possibly by convincing Lucifer to go to Heaven with Emily and others to lead a rebellion against Sera, ousting/killing her, he will, indeed, be the one "pulling all the strings" by having his own leash broken while he is free to rule Hell.

There definitely is some correlation between a person’s life on Earth and the form they take in Hell. Angel Dust has at least one sibling in Hell who also has a spider like appearance. And Alastor was shot and killed by a hunter who mistook him for a deer, hence his ears and affinity for deer.

My dad definitely loved me. I was lucky to have a kind, strong and good man for a father but there were things he loved more than me. He loved his ideals more and it strained our relationship because I was too much like his younger self. He loved cigarettes more than me too but they killed him so no use staying annoyed about that. I do appreciate the blessings I was born with though and he taught me so many incredible things that normal people just wouldn't get to learn or experience. My dad was a genius and so creative despite his sincere wish to be more professional and put together 😂. This is all to say that the song "More Than Anything" is very dear to me. I am so grateful to have had him and in the end I know he was proud of me. He didn't like my dreams but I think he was afraid I'd get hurt like he did. I did get hurt but like my father before me, I'm okay and I'm going to keep moving. When I die I want to be able to smirk at him one last time and say "I thought you said that would be difficult."

I was listening to a lot of daughtry and nickleback after my parents got divorced and I think the reason why the “more than anything” song hits so hard is because even though my dad didn’t talk much or say much to me, it was always nice being around him and I always heard that music in the car with him when we’d hang out together. And I think the sound of “More than Anything” has a lot of similarities to the way those two bands would compose their songs; right down to the acoustic guitar riffs. It's Seviathan Von Eldritch, Charlie's ex boyfriend and son of Fredrick Von Eldritch (King of Envy) 3:44 You can see Alastor wipe his hand on his coat after touching Lucifer's cane which shows how highly he thinks of himself. Also the fact that he insulted him and swore for the first time on screen. 5:40 if you look at all Lucifer's offering, it's all materialistic things. Food, large amounts of money etc. 5:54 Compare it to Alastor who knows how to manipulate Charlie by offering actual bonds and relationships like she actually wants (you can tell it's manipulative from his personality and because he never really looks at her during the song, he's always looking for Lucifer's reaction) 7:40 You can see on the back of Mimzy's shoulder there is a Mammon (King of Greed) tattoo. 9:54 This is only true for sinners yes, it's why Alastor has deer like features due to him being a mistaken for a deer and getting shot while in a forest. 12:30 Alastor is a circus... that lets people touch his urine.

In a show full of top tier incredible songs... more than anything stands out. Bith of their voices are gorgeous, and blend so well together. And the emotion both put into it. It hits me hard as I have a 9 year old daughter and my worries and hopes for her are echoed in Lucifer's parts of the song. This show does an absolutely flawless job of flipping the script to make you understand what really makes a person good, or bad. And yeah, Lucifer deserves the father of the year award here.

This show is awesome, I do not know why there are Some touchy christians who think they speak for me about Haxbin Hotel. I am proud christian, I have no issue with this show. It could be a broadway play the music numbers are so good. Plus the messages are positive and do align with positive messages of Christianity, Forgiveness,Love,Kindness,second chances.. The show is 5/5 to me.

I personally feel like Alastor and Lucifer battling in this song style was some form of agreement between the two. As much as I love Alastor, Lucifer is most likely the top dog of Hell, at least when it comes to power. At first I didn't like this iteration of Lucifer, having gotten used to DC's/CW's... but he's grown on me. Aside from this song, which we could debate was a draw, due to it being interrupted, I personally can't see Alastor losing too many "song battles."

Obviously a physical confrontation between these two would have a very predictable result, Lucifer can easily win in a fight with Alastor, Alastor can't win against a seraphim like Lucifer, he can't even win against an inferior angel like Adam. and the only reason why Lucifer hasn't yet destroyed Alastor is first because he never considers him a threat and secondly his daughter seems to appreciate him and Lucifer doesn't want to make his daughter sad.
