It's less that he couldn't accept reality, and more that he rejected it (after eventually bringing himself to accept it) thus becoming "Madara", one who rejects reality. When you think about it, the Sharingan is literally a tool for bending reality to one's own will. Obito rejected the reality where Rin died and sought to create a different reality where she existed, which is beautifully poetic in a sense. But when you actually apply logic to this shit, all Obito had to do was use reanimation to bring Rin back. He knew Rinne-Rebirth as well (he got tricked into using it on Madara), so he could've EASILY gave his life to bring her back permanently after using reanimation. I mean, dude can slaughter thousands and nearly end the entire world for a FAKE Rin, but he can't use the simplest logic to bring back the real one? And if he's worried about dying, he can sacrifice one of his eyes to rewrite his death with Izanagi (which may have activated Izanami, but still). He had all the tools at his disposal to bring her back forreal and he used none of them.

@@Ryxxii Madara literally died around the same time Rin did and Obito used Rinne-Rebirth to bring him back during the war, a jutsu he knew roughly around the time he helped Itachi slaughter the Uchiha (as Madara had him read the stone tablet and learn lots of things). You don't need a body to use Rinne-Rebirth; you just need a Reanimation, meaning it would've been easy for Obito to revive Rin if he'd forced Kabuto to reanimate her with his Sharingan (similar to how Itachi forced him into Izanami). And before you mention Izanagi, Obito was killed by Konan and used it to rewrite his death, so he clearly knows that as well. He CAN bring Rin back to life.

Check on the internet that if you need to use rinne rebirth, you need the body of the person who you want to bring back! The reason Jiraiya wasn't brought back during the 4th war because Kabuto couldn't get a hold of his body since it was deep inside the water! You need to know that rinne rebirth and reanimation are two different things. Obito cannot use reanimation jutsu. Only 3 person knew that jutsu and they are 1. I know what a lot of people are saying in the comments that "because Rin died he started the 4th Great War" but that's not true. See Obito was already seeing how hateful the world was, and his views and psyche we're teetering on a figurative but philosophical scale. See what was keeping him from falling into the abyss was the fact Rin existed, his light in the world. The one thing that allowed him to tolerate all the hate and death. But when Kakashi ended up killing her albeit due to her jumping in front of his lightning blade, obitos psyche embraced the emotional abyss he was fighting. He realized though(through a tunnel vision-esque) new insight is...the world is nothing but hate. He fully embraced Madaras ideology on how to bring world peace. I guess it goes without saying that they believed the only way to world peace was by forcing it to happen. By the way...dint judge obito you have no idea what it would do to you if the love of your life was killed and you sat there and witnessed it.

Man, I knew there was a metaphor for Obito's ability with his outlook on life... But with who I've been talking to as of late and seeing this I really understand the depth of his Sharingan now. How he refuses to believe reality, literally *not being effected* by it, creating *his own bubble*, a *space he can call his own, where nothing can hurt him. * Lashing out at those around him, regardless of fault. Killing outers and destroying their beliefs all the while being *untouchable* and never having his outlook on the world changed. It is more then eye opening. It's... relatable to me. Eventually he comes to terms with his reality, destroying his bubble and ability to go on without being harmed by the things around him, letting the pain of reality sink in and finally touch him. He's dying... From a combination of long term denial being broken, shattering almost everything he's come to know... and finally being able to let go of the past, knowing that he should have died a long time ago. He let's himself die because that's how it should have been, either from the giant boulder crushing his right half into paste or the heart break of seeing Rin die, right when he finally saw his closest friends again. He died back then, his shell kept walking... causing tides to change and ending voyages. After finally reuniting with his last living friend from way back when, they fight and argue back and forth. But eventually they forgive each other... Obito leaves on a happy note, and finally can rest with a smile on his face. He can finally see Rin again.

Through all the suffering and the mental challenge, he is still strong to reach his end goal. Honestly, Kakashi and Rin was his family, he loved them both. His soul was crushed the day his brother killed the love of his life, even though it was for the greater good. Kakashi made a tough decision, and had to live with it for the rest of his life. Obito had to live with the pain, rage, and suffering until the few moments before his death.. When there was slight peace. He lived a long, more eventful life then others and suffered a great amount, but he held through until the very end where he had a change of heart.. R.I.P Tobi. R.I.P Obito. Two completely different people, but one person with the same heart. I am sorry to all the ones who have suffered his pain, and I hope you have fought through it. Pain can be long lasting, or temporary. Think of all the good memories to suppress the pain and focus on the future ahead, live a good life..

This is so confusing without context, so I’m going to explain for those who are curious about what’s going on. For a quick summery, this kid is mad that his crush died by a bunch of assassins, basically, forcing his other friend to kill her. The kids both have the same eyes and evolve it after experiencing intense trauma after watching their teammate die. The evolved eye lets the kid phase through objects, which is why there isn’t a point where it looks like the kid is losing. His white costume thing is, in simple terms, an inorganic being spawned from a statue. It’s job is to keep the kid safe because he lost half of his body. I’m not gonna go into how he survived that, cause that’s complicated in itself. Anyways, he, just so happens to, comes across his friends fighting assassins after putting a demon inside of the kids crush. The kids friend then charges the group with an attack, but then the kids crush steps in the way of that attack and dies. Her, and the kids friend, were the only people that he got along with, so seeing his friend kill his crush really put him on the edge. This is also during a war between states period where children were forced to fight, which puts a bigger strain on the kid. If there are any other details you wanna know, watch Naruto and Naruto Shippuden. They’re not as bad as people say, trust me.

Joey Margretta probably because the writer wrote about obitos past when kakashi already had the sharingan as an adult. It wouldn’t make any sense if the writer all of a sudden rewrote history and had him take his eye back, that would mean that kakashi would no longer be called the copy ninja of the leaf. and shit kakashi probably would of died along with squad 7 a long time ago.

Okey I just want boruto to have this kind of unique story . I wanna see new characters backstory and everything. Naruto Shippuden was a master piece with lots of dark,sad, maddening, unique backstory. It made the foundation of the anime tough . We knew almost every characters backstory was it fun sad or dark. We loved every part of it. My only wish is that boruto doesn't dissapoint us in the near future .
