If you could get a truck down to SD, my dad has a garage full of amazing AMAZING midcentury modernist furniture but can't donate it right now cause thrifts aren't open. My grandma passed away right before covid so he's been trying to move his stuff into her place. There's this glass and brass shelf thing that would look top notch in there (filled with plants)

I bought and sold a ton of stuff on Craigslist and people are very flakey. I've held things for people and said no to others who could come sooner, only to find out that they don't show up or don't take it. So now I always use the first come first served rule. When I buy, I drop everything I'm doing and show up ASAP so I'm sure that I get it. Even if the seller suggests a time, I try and ask to get there earlier. A lot of people also offer to put holds or buy through venmo before seeing it, and get task rabbits/lugg to pick it up for them. I don't like buying things unseen so I just try to get there asap.

That entry table! I almost fainted. As far as the dining chairs, you could get chrome spray paint from an auto store and paint the metal to tie in with the table. Then paint the wood a cool color, or even each chair a different color. I've always wanted a burl wood table but they are extremely expensive. I found one on Craig's List for $45! It needed some work but I've almost finished restoring it and I am in love! By the way, every piece of furniture in my home is second-hand.

As much as I love everything thrifting/thrifted. I cant do furniture anything with upholstery, fabric etc. The threat of bedbugs is WAY too high. And yes even tho u would think no way would someone give away let alone sell something KNOWING they have or had them they do. And then theres always a chance they arent aware or they bought and resold etc. Not to mention theres no real way to clean them. We were just talking about this the other day as we're wanting to buy all new beds mattresses....the point is we want new but in no way even if I needed something would I get anything used unless it was from 1 or 2 family members who bought it new and with a toddler everything gets trashed anyway lol. I wanted to repaint my living room and it's only been a year since we painted but it will only get written on and having sticky greasy handprints. My son also just spit his head open ...literally on a wall! Or the baseboard who knows with me and his dad standing 4 ft away so that table makes me so nervous for her lol. Rubber things on the corner would take away from the look but I'd be buying them on Amazon before I brought it home but its SO pretty and I love the dining room one and see them for sale ALL the time. I've just always had kids and kids and glass dont usually mesh well lol. But I'm with ya...everytime Ihear used furniture all I think its bodily fluids and bugs 🙄🤢 and considering it takes thousands of dollars and basically getting rid of everything to rid your house of bedbugs it's just not worth it for me no matter how tempting or cute something may be

Those are some amazing finds! Thrift stores just recently opened back up in Maryland and, I bought a dresser for fifteen bucks which I transformed by changing out the hard wear, sanding and, painting. Wish I could upload a picture of the results. Love your channel 🙂
