I laud the utter positive attitude from the team who, of course, have to battle jadedness from staring at the game for so many months. Yet, aside from the fact that I'm a HUGE Hellboy fan, as a critical graphic and game designer (not to mention a Dutch one to boot) I feel that I need to balance some pros with some cons. Here goes. Pros: I agree with James that an 'Easy Setup and Play' guide is really nice to have to get playing immediately. This cannot be overstated. I love the 'Mignola-minimalist' design of the tile boards and tokens and am eager to see some pics of a fully set up game with all of the components, just to see it all come together. I loved the flipping of tiles/boards for different phases of the game since the beginning (maybe cuz I also use it in my own game design). The counters (minis) are sheer brilliance, thematically as well as visually and are a gift of 'pure gravy' on top of an already immersive Hellboy experience. My hat off to you, fine ladies and sirs. Cons: not a fan of the 'mixed media' player cards where some characters are drawn and others are pics of the minis. It could have been easy enough to find Mignola artwork or even beg him for some quick original stuff (also shows continued support from Mike in the game). The more KS I back, the more I'm getting used to the mismatch of 3D renders and actual minis - physical minis are always less detailed, so that's to be expected. Then again, perhaps it's the mega-closeup that magnifies these differences, whereas when you see them for real they look detailed enough. Also, I'll be painting the minis in a very, very flat 'comic' fashion so perhaps too many details would've just ended up being 'shadow black' anyway. The dice are very 'pop' but I would've still preferred 'smoky' semi-translucent dice. The same goes for the cubes and discs, but hey, they're just bits and bobs to keep track of stuff. Finally (and this one was a big one for me) the Cards in the tray were very underwhelming and make me doubt (once again) how much more emphasis was put on the mins than the actual story. I know this is only the base box and expansions tend to have more story, item, event card, and whatnot, but I can't help but be a tad disappointed about how few cards there are in this game. All in all, well put together and I'm still eager as heck to get my grubby hands on my copy this year and play it until it disintegrates (not a fan of card sleeving, as you may have deduced ^_^)

To try and address some of your cons from a perspective of someone reviewing it as I have no likk to the inpout or design....Mixed Media Cards - I'll be honest I didnt notice this at the time and had to go back and check the video! I "think" some of this may have been due to time as origibally I think those cards were just back up aganets and were not playable characters. I could be wrong but potentially this was one contributing factor.The quality of the minis - The quality is excellent and having a close up photo which magnifies any issues doesnt do them justice. I fully expect that you'll be more than impressed when you hold them in your hands and see them for yourself.Cards in the tray. - theres actually quite a lot of cards in this set and I didnt show them all in the photos (only a selectio of the types) so hopefully this might lifts some of your concerns.Thanks again for watching. Absolutely love seeing the looks on the designer's faces as they unbox these games they've worked so hard on. The pieces of the whole coming together. They're so excited and you can see it in their faces and hear it in their voices, it's just a joy and makes me so much more excited to get my hands on my own copy. Also, I'm Hard of Hearing and rely on subtitles to watch my unboxing videos. Auto-generated captions only work so well, and that really changes when you throw in accents as well. Consider hiring a subtitler/captioner, for us HoH and Deaf fans? ;)

Yeah there are some but they look way worse as a zoomed in picture. In the flesh they’re a lot less noticeable.

Question is: when are we gonna have access to these extra agents and other things we cannot find off the shelf? Not all of us got to back this up on kickstarter. I already have most expansions but there's not a lot of agent player variety.

They went above and beyond on this game ! Can’t wait for my ks to show up ! Wish I would of got the expansions!! I was hoping my Tmnt game times would of looked these . Idw needs to take a lesson ! Also Steam forge ! the new resident evil 2 game look like a pile of poo! Compared to this .

This is the new benchmark for me on how Kickstarters need to be. I also made a video in the reatil box and its equally as awesome. I have Batman Gotham City Chronicles and I'm hoping that delivers as well as this. RE2 in comparison is definietly not as good a presentation or componants however is still a fun game to play and I'm happy I backed it - just not sure I'd be as happy paying full retail for the core set now I know how much it is!

BlackJack Legacy I also received my ks copy of city of kings ! Excellent.. it’s a shame when small independent people are producing solid production city of kings, gloom haven . And we’re seeing poo from big companies. I also went all in on Batman seeing the last update I think it will be top notch !
