Dodge Engineer: “The Hellcat motor will not fit in the new Charger.” Rich Appalachian Hillbilly: “Challenge accepted.”

As someone who stuffed a 4 Cam V8 Tundra engine into a '74 Celica, I call BS a hellcat engine won't fit in that land yacht of a car.
@MattMaranMotoring23 күн бұрын
I mean anything is possible with mods, but you know it’s not that simple for OEMs. An OEM quality fit that retains all crash structures, maintains a hood design that passes pedestrian impact standards, has OEM quality cooling, and doing all that without compromising other parts of the car, that’s a lot harder and that could be why it won’t fit *properly*. That’s my interpretation. Same reason Subaru/Toyota couldn’t fit the WRX motor in the BRZ from an OEM quality standpoint, even though people made it fit in the aftermarket.

My good friend’s dad is an executive with Beverly Hills Rolls Royce. I’ve asked him if the brand would ever consider a model below the Ghost, with a lower price point. His response was that “common” people wouldn’t appreciate the model, and most likely not take care of the vehicle, thereby “soiling” the brand’s image. ……That’s up there in pretentiousness too I think!! 🤷🏼♂️😂

Yeah I heard it was designed with enough space under the hood so a Hemi crate engine will bolt in, probably needs a new hood (intake manifold) and headers (turbo exhaust manifold) to actually fit. Wouldn't be surprised if the EPA was behind them saying it's not a direct bolt in.

Rotaries are coming back -- SO F---ING WHAT? It's only going to be a range extender. You will not be able to experience the power delivery of a rotary, you will not be able to hear the tone change as it revs up as you press the accelerator. You will probably not be able to hear the engine at all. And you sure as hell will not get any exhaust sound to speak of. So does it make a difference whether that range extender is a rotary or anything else???

Comment on 3 subjects. 1) Dodge Charger. The EV version is rather heavy. Let's hope the Hurricane in line six is at least 1000 LBS lighter. 2) Amazing that CEO Tavares who worked with Nissan in the US for years really failed to understand the US market. What may have worked in Europe for Renault does not mean it will work in the US. Let's hope better product and more reasonable prices for Dodge, Ram and perhaps Chrysler product. 3). Clearly to me the blue and pink colors for the Jag concept are denoting male and female potential buyers. The Concept front end reminds me of a modern take on the American Locomotive. The rear reminds me of a coolant grill. The overall shape is not bad otherwise. The good news is that this is a concept and not the production version. It's a high-end product EV so I don't really care.
@knifetoucher23 күн бұрын
2:04 irrelevant that the EV has more power when it's almost 1500 lbs heavier and does 0-60 in a pathetic 4.6 sec. My 2016 WRX does that.

Both the Sonata and the Elantra are at the end of their life cycles. Sonata should definitely be ready for their redesign and be an even better than ever car. Sonata can get its first N model for its next generation. Elantra is on its final model year now. More importantly, the Elantra N is at the end of its life cycle after the 2025 model year because the 2.0T engine will be phased out from the engine lineup altogether as it is the last car to have it and will upgrade to the 2.5T engine for the next generation Elantra N which will make the next gen Elantra N even better and hotter than the current gen version. Calendar year 2025 is going to be a great year for Hyundai with 2026-2030 model year Sonata and Elantra vehicles.
