The problem with a lot of these V8 vehicles is they weigh 4,000+ lbs most of the time. Throw that in a miata or some other light vehicle n its game over. Plus v8's typically take the abuse better than 4cyl. $500 junkyard LS and a $500 turbo kit is an easy 500hp all day. I was a big import guy until I realized how cheap and reliable v8 builds are
@Goldenjews12342 жыл бұрын
@@shaneintegra The thing is with honda's they last a lot longer then v8 and literally drive them to the ground with their engine even can drive a bit without oil till you get smoke. On top of that honda made a lot stuff for F1 due to their high rpm engines. I see it this way, if honda or any jdm car can squeeze a lot power out of their over engineer engines even due to their gentle agreement, tells me that there is a lot potential especially RB or rs, and, 2jz engines. What v8 has is that barra engine is better in reliability then ls swap plus amount you can put in barra far surpasses ls even tho that engine was available in australia.
@tokin420nchokin2 жыл бұрын
I love me some 4 cylinders too! They can make a lot of power, especially when your able to force more air in them. They are also generally very balanced if you keep them under 2.5 liters. The last 3 new vehicles I have bought all the way back to 2004 have been either supercharged or turbo 4 cylinders and they have all had a factory available tune that can get you between 40 and 70hp without voiding your warranty. It's usually pretty easy to squeeze at least another 100hp out of them pretty cheaply and safely. Plus the technology has come so far they are practically all factory turbo/super air to air or air to water w/ direct injection, vvt, and some are even factory equipped with 3 bar maps. Even my 2.3l ford ranger has a factory available tune that would open it up a good bit. I ride a street bike these days for the cheap thrills but have pulled on a lot of v8's with my boosted 4s

I'm saying the same thing if the races are close right now with upgraded tires you would be beating them bcuz it's obvious being able to put all the power to the floor makes a major difference even in my all motor k swap civic it changed the dynamics of my racing dramatically
