I haven’t played in 6 months but when I heard that the Illuminate where added in I updated hopped on and one of the first things I did was spend 40$ on all the new war bonds passed viper commanders then the kill zone stuff dropped and I spent another 10$ and seeing how many people came back to the game for the squid’s I’m sure I wasn’t the only one who spent money on all the past war bonds

I got that armor as a Twitch drop, but it's cool that everyone else gets it too, in case they missed it. The less FOMO the better. I have the pre-order armor sets as well, but honestly I think the best solution would be to just sell them as a premium DLC or something. I wouldn't mind others having it, even if they didn't pre-order the game.

i have a couple of the pre order sets, but i don't really care if everyone else has em because it not like they were much different than what we have now. being able to change colors and passives to armor though would be almost to good to be true. Just imagine how cool it would be to be able to make a sniper set with camouflage and passives to buff that style specifically, or the grenadier with extra grenades and a boost to how much ammo you can carry to the grenade launcher, oh so many possibilities!!!!

I prefer the idea of being able to color-match my armor and helmet as opposed to full transmog. The ability to at a glance tell what passive and type of armor someone is wearing can be useful both for teamplay and immersion.

An idea for custom armor I could think of would be you use a form of currency (maybe a bunch of samples, req slips, or SC) to buy an armor set, color scheme, and passive. You would have to own an armor possessing the passive you desire to be able to "craft" or buy, and likewise for the desired armor set you'd like to customize.

As someone that HAS the Pre Order armors, I personally wouldn't mind the Pre Order armor being put in for Super Credits (say 500 credits for the body and 100 for the helmet). Hell, I BEARLY wear any of that Armor anymore anyway. I suppose they could make the OG armor and the "new" armor look visually Similar but, you can tell they are not the same. (like they put Bronze on it instead of Gold or something, the Armor is not as shiny, extera) After all, "its just cosmetic", and I think the Pre Order armors (besides the Knight armor) looks BALLIN AS F@#$!

They’re giving out the Alpha Commander armor that was exclusive to a twitch drop event and nobody’s upset about that. Technically that is also breaking a promise. Arrowhead had broken many promises. They’ve botched rollouts of all sorts of things. Hell, they walked back all that nerfing and everything which essentially took the game back to its original build. It’s been long enough. @@robd8567 I mean I think as far as the Devs are concerned its a "reward" for backing the game early. So it something to THINK about but, in all honestly WHO GIVES A SHIT! Ambassador of the Brand and Cavalier of Democracy are the most BALLER armor in the whole game, the knight armor kinda blows but eh its still cool in its own way. Plus its mostly just LOOKS. Ambassador of the brand is just Default Armor in BLUE with White under armor. Cavalier of Democracy is the Hero of the Federation armor in White and Blue. The Knight might be unique but it looks so Generic its hard to tell.

I'd pay for the Pre-order armors. I think 1000 ($10) Supercredits for the set of 3 would be fair. A preorder is $5 at minimum. This is what I’ve been trying to communicate to divers since launch. Most of the divers that have the armor are perfectly fine with the implementation of a pathway to achieving these armor sets. Plus, they’re just giving out the twitch drop armor now, so what is this talk about “keeping promises?” I swear that some of these people’s brains are just completely rotted out. They need to put the game down and seek counseling lol. Why wouldn’t you want all your companions to have a chance at becoming current. It’s a PvE game and It’s a fact that a lot of the original players I dove with on day one already got aggravated and quit the game forever. This was due to nerfing and changing some of the mechanics. They’ll never put that armor on again. So do we just let it disappear? That would be lame. If you dive a little once a day, you should be fully maxed out on every asset in the game. So let the people spend their cred on something. You really don’t even have to play once a day. You just need to dive hard and have a good strategy. With this plan, you’ll never ever have to spend real dollars on another thing. By the time a new warbond rolls around I typically have about 4,000 super credits stacked from just finding them on the battlefield. I had no complaints about the Killzone 2 superstore items. I thought that was the coolest thing that had ever happened in the game. Next, they gave us a free gift. That is now the most awesome thing they’ve done. Nobody should be complaining about anything. Arrowhead will do what they think is right and if it comes to pass that they made a poor choice, we’ve already seen them turn it around and change it for the greater good of the game. Whatever it takes for the game to be healthy and alive is fine by me and shouldn’t bother anyone that truly loves it.

A few months ago I came along this idea in reddit on how to do custom colors without changing the whole theme of HD2 and making them look goofy. Apperantly they suggested you have three palettes you can set colors to, you can either make the armor match the helmet palette, or the helmet match the armor palette. The third palette however, is the classic black and yellow normal helldiver armor has. I honestly see this as a better way to adapt color changing since there arehelmets I love that dont match with the armor I love

I believe if they from the beginning made the Killzone items stay for a week and lower the prices just a little bit, then it would’ve been good, gives times to farm a more than usual amount of credits but still get the items. Or, they could have a separate crossover section appear in the superstore everytime there is a crossover (the section would go away everytime a crossover ends, eg a week). Or considering they have millions made already, they could’ve did a large major order where killzone assault troops (the premium skin) invaded a planet and the community had to get rid of them and would in return receive the skin.

Another explanation for the recent uptick in revenue generated: people returning to HD2 after a multi-month break following the travesty that was the Freedom's Flame warbond/nerf-apalooza, then having fun with the Illuminate expansion and deciding to play catch up with the warbonds. I didn’t even know there were pre-order rewards when I bought the game about a week after release due to the hype generated from it. That Knight armor set looks so sick, and I’d pay an admittedly small chunk of change for it, but a buck is a buck after all. From what I have read, 100% of the divers that have the POB armor say that they wouldn’t mind if there was a pathway to earning the armor for those who missed it. What is sad is that many of the divers that missed it say that they don’t think they deserve it lol. How did people get this way? We are supposed to be evolving and not getting more stupid. I pre ordered and I feel like everyone should have a shot at it. The honeymoon period is over and all the OG played just wear whatever is new. I don’t actually see day one players rocking that armor anymore. Let completions have a shot at it. It would help the game more than it would hurt it.

The important thing though is that it appears as if the overall sentiment is that those fortunate pre-order owners would be ok with their exclusive content to be offered to others as well at some point, and that ought to be worth something.

I'd like for customization to become much more in-depth, though it would be quite the undertaking. Choose the base model and choose attachments such as gauntlets, bags, bandoliers, symbols, helmet attachments, etc. It would probably only be possible in Helldivers 3, but Arrowhead has been exploring weapon customization. We'll see.

Add in transmog as a ship upgrade. Make it something dumb like holographic armour emitter, give it a funny description, and make it slightly change the equipment section in the ships look. Gets players to work for something, gives the players transmog everyones happy.

Mix and Match the armor and cape colors is all I want for anything customization wise on armors. Now for weapons, I'd reallllly love if they'd offer a workbench for the weapons to enhance their effectiveness. But not by HUGE amounts, but small percentages of 5-10% difference. We don't need a standard transmog system if they really want armour sets to be visually relevant to their effects. If they want to do collabs, just sell Layered Armour like Monster Hunter does. Let premium armours such as the Killzone collab be purely visual while the regular armours can stay the way they are. Monster Hunter figured this out a long time ago, regarding special sets like these.

Regarding pre-order armour: I really liked Helldivers 1, and I Would have preordered it... but it wasn't exactly marketed well, so I didn't even know it was dropping until the day of release when it showed up on my Steam store page. Not to mention, there are thousands of players who are extremely passionate about HD2 who may not have even heard of it before it launched, and I'm a very "the more the merrier" type of person, so they should not be missing out- but what's the solution? I think most people would think it is reasonable to add the pre-order armour to the special edition of the game, or give it as a reward for Helldivers who have completed a number of warbonds (like classic games used to do). When it comes to pre-order bonuses, missing out feels *really* bad if you didn't even know about the pre-order before the game dropped. TL;DR: Less FOMO is always best, and as someone who has most of the gear (except the P-O sets), I dislike not being able to help new players earn things.

I agree 100% and I actually pre ordered. I also am a proud owner of HD1 (super earth ultimate edition) and have all the content unlocked. I think it would be cool as hell for Arrowhead to provide some type of pathway for players that missed it to achieve it. Why would that not be okay. The broken promises thing holds no weight seeing as they already broken dozens of promises. Nobody cares about that old ass armor, because it’s just a duplicate of armor we already have with the same passives. It’s just a different color variant. Once they release color palettes, which I hear that they’re working on currently, what are all those cry babies going to say about it then?

False equivalence. A free set of armour in a videogame is nothing at all like tradable currency. If someone buys a videogame, they should have a way to unlock or access all of the content in said game. It's really not that difficult of a concept.

It would be nice to let us pick two passives for the armor we use, these passives could be restricted to armor class light/medium/heavy. it would be nice to have the extra grenades and throwing passive on the same armor for example.

I'm still a fan of the "match color with armor or helmet" idea. As for the armor passives, i think it would be neat to have more defined light, medium and heavy passives and then let us have transmog within the different armor types.

I think helmets and capes should have some form of passives. It could just simply be on passive perk. I just find it weird not having the helmet having a perk while the primary armor does.

They don't really need a transmog system, all they need to do is have us select an armor passive in the loadout selection menu, like we select a booster. So many armors are and will be unused, Arrowhead really needs to do this or something similar.

I dont think Every Armour set needs to be re-colorable, but i do think the Base Helldiver, and a few of its variants could be, like, we have 4 different sets of the base armour, with only different yellow parts, they could be recolorable, kinda like the different clone battalions during the clone wars, would be fun, maybe have it as a clan type thing? IDK, i dont want all sets to be rainbow, but a few that could be customizable could be nice~

The Combine from Half-Life would be a cool crossover. They have a few armor sets to choose from in addition to the SMG and assault rifle. Their story could even fit into the narrative like how we say Killzone does.

I’m in the same boat as you my friend. They just gave out the exclusive twitch drop to everyone and I’m not concerned one bit. I’ve had that armor for almost the whole lifespan of the game and I never wear it anymore. I think it would be cool and fun to see the new guys put that old pre order armor on. It would just put a smile on my face. How could someone be mad about that. They’ve already broken about a dozen promises and this topic has nothing to do with players that had faith in the game early on or whatever they’re trying to say. Most of the people that say it shouldn’t ever be accessible again are the people that missed out lol. How stupid must one be to cling on to that heinous rationale lol.

I think you’re on the right side of history with this idea. I pre-ordered this game and I also participated in the twitch drop. Now that they have just given the twitch drop armor for free, I don’t see what the fuss is all about when it comes to providing a pathway for new players to earn those armor sets. What is the difference? They break promises all the time. Anyways, I’m all worn out trying to get this through the heads of those who obviously suffer from brain rot. It’s almost as if the same people that cry for inclusivity in real life beg for exclusivity in a video game. Go figure.

I’d like to see passives being able to be applied to other armors, some armors are cool but the passive is not useful or does not match the play style I have. For the illuminate for example I’d mix the arc resistance with the 20% primary ammo. Obviously it would have to be done in a way that makes things not too powerful, that it creates metas. I think there should be a base passive that belongs to the armor, and a slot open for whatever other passive you want to add.

I feel like best most neutral option for those preorder armor would be in the store where you buy the credits, why i say this is i feel like it would not break the promise and remove the preorder uniqueness basically people who preordered got it for free but people who really want those armor would have to buy it for money but that would be the only exclusive buy directly for money and not auper credits since super credits can be grinded out.

I would vote against having armor customization in the game. specially mix-matching armor function. having armor with fixed look and function allow players to see their teammate's set up to determine the play style they might be. For example: scout armor with jetpack may mean the player is less likely to stay with the pack, roaming and infiltrate objective/bases on their own. heavy armor with HMG and placement means the player is knock every base's front door. looking at the team's set-up you can tell the kind of role and tactic a player is going to preform. with armor customization, it will become confusing to work together with randoms due to not knowing what kind of role they are taking on. lets be honest here, who here hovers over teammate's armor/gun to see their set up every match?

Just make armor passives another piece of equipment like a "kit" slot next to the grenade. But I also think armors should be standardized. All light armors have the same stats. Same for medium and heavy armors. It would make armors way more cosmetic like they should be.

5:30 I guess the only way transmog make sense is first creating your look with light/medium/heavy armors and then choosing a passive that automaticalyl adds some decor pieces like granade puches, robotic arms etc for differend pasives, or just let players pick that decors in order to add passives you want. But its a lot of work to make sure every little decor fits well on every armor times two(lean and bulky looks) So i guess it wont happend.

I really want AH to develop more stuff like skins bundles, armour colors even being paid or having paid voicelines into a bundle would be great because it's 100% optional and people would buy it to support the development of HD2.
