When DEI is forced artificially into a game for the purposes of presenting a social message instead of pursuing gameplay, it is CRINGE.

It's always awful, and it never improves the game that it is in.

The first time I heard someone talk about political propaganda in movies or games was Avatar. That movie had a lot of people raging talking about how it has secret messages about expansionism & war. Man, we've taken quite a fall since then. Now every movie has some sort of political message and we are all just trying to find a testosterone driven, adrenaline junkie epic without getting lectured on how I misused a pronoun.

Even that film had a bit of nuance, not much, mind you, but a little.

All art is inherently political. Do you honestly think action movies weren't political before Avatar? Avatar was incredibly direct with its political messaging. There was no "secret messages" just basic media literacy that a movie has a meaning behind it and isn't just some cgi explosion montage for the mentally inept to drool at.
