It was your shield. It's working like the cardboard box from metal gear but it's not body heat at all just vision, as in: you have a "wall" that is blocking their vision. Be cool if it had thermal recognition so we could hide behind napalm or something !

Honestly though my favorite thing to do in this game is use stratagems that aren’t directly lethal out the box like SOS Beacons and Support weapon pods to destroy buildings and turrets.

More likely the turret is programmed to hit head or torso and the shield preventing direct line of sight causes the Turret to bug out. It should also work with most tanks.

It doesn't with tanks lol I tried it and they point blank launched me to orbit
