Anyone going to be playing Helldivers 2 tonight? A ton of people are currently having issues with matchmaking and finding other players to join. They've said that they're currently working on a fix but just something to be aware of. Premium currency in the shop is also super cheap as of now.

The warbonds seem incredibly fair to me. A lot less aggressive than other AAA games make their microtransactions. And everything is obtainable for free just playing the game even though yes that does require grinding. But if the gameloop is fun and keeps me engaged then it's only a plus.

@@11Survivor I should clarify, but I think that only applies to the 'premium' warbond (the one you get for the special ed), which seems to be treated as just that. (Kind of like Melk's shop in Darktide; a new player will only be able to afford 1 item per-week.) If it's permanently available too, it's a non-issue - just something to work towards long-term and that's good for the gameplay loop. For reference, I played the game for 6hrs and I'm already 1/4 of the way into the second page of the 'regular' warbond. It feels pretty balanced and fair ..and also kind of makes the special edition not that good value, unlike the base game. (I only have the base, but it makes me think there's no point buying the special ed.)

It was amazing once you get use to the mechanics of the game and how certain things work then you will be able to focus on starting to master your game play. I’ve only completed a couple missions on lvl 3 with only dying once each time but it was slow moving at times for sure. I did try to find a SOS match but when I was on no one was looking for a party. If you do play with others let me know how it is and

I have to agree with a friend of mine. Helldivers 2 is just Helldivers 1 just as a First Person Shooter instead of the top down view. We all loved Helldivers on the PS4, 4 of us on a couch and we played it for days. I am exited for the Release of Helldivers 2 but recent game trends make me scared that it will run like crap on PC.

Sony is probably keeping a close eye on H2 in the terms of revenue. First release since Sony's commitment into the Games as a Service field. The game has a shop that refreshes every 48 hours as well. So if this game does very well, might reinforce Sony's opinion on GaaS

Tbh, holding the mech stratagems for a later time is a good idea it gives something for the players to look forward to and unlike the first game you wont have to worry about new players unlocking one early in progression then accidentally stepping on you constantly. Though I am excited to see how they do the tank or apc variants from the first game. They weren't particularly amazing to use in higher difficulties, so heres to hoping they become useful.

There is both a mechanic that lets the devs directly get involved with a match AND there is the war that changes depending on the community actions. The second one was in the first game, but it seems to have been made more in depth.

Im glad you can EARN the in game credits. It gives me motivation to play. I love doing challenges, i also buy with real currency but its nice you can unlock the SAME things with credits you EARNED BY PLAYING THE GAME.

The GM funcionality sounds a lot like it'll also affect individual matches, BUT they said bots/ai are also involved. So maybe your match won't have a human GM, but it may have a GM nonetheless. Honestly I think it's mostly a galactic war thing and won't affect individual matches but still it sounds like it's going to be fun.

The way they’re doing war bonds is the right way to do something. If you work and can’t grind then use your cash, but still allow others to grind the game out. Plus it’s a co-op game so doesn’t really matter what others do

Honestly this video made do a raincheck on purchase. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely adore Helldivers 1, but the game looks grindy if you don't pay on top of already paying for the game. I wanted to get it on release, but after this I will wait for a sale to justify it for myself. I still wish the best for the game, and really hope it will be succesful.

I know you say you don’t like microtransactions on a game you paid for but, how do you want the company to pay for the overhead of having servers running for the game 24/7, for the property expenses of having those servers placed there, how to pay for the developers that they have designated just for this game in particular for making future content. After the initial income stream from game sales, how do you expect them to continue paying for all these things? Where is that income supposed to come from? Some companies do get greedy with micro transactions but there is a need for them to a degree.

My really only major complaint about this game is the "game master" as they put it. It's such an annoyance to clear an area out only for some "random" patrol to spawn out of nowhere and is coded to just walk towards us. Not to mention they just start a breach for no reason when we haven't even aggroed them. Shits annoying.

@@HotPocketEnjoyer - An employee on Discord stated she wasn't given privileges to it and the time it took her to unlock was "fair." There have been unlockables in games almost since the start of games. Many used cheat codes to skip the grind. Others came back til they got the unlockables unlocked.

No offense friend but it is not remotely one of the only games that makes sense to only be online at least 75% of the games people play require online connection for numerous reasons and to be fair this game wouldn’t need an online connection if it had a coach potato mode But it doesn’t and it doesn’t have any campaign. It’s missions only right so what else is there but online has no couch co-op. It has no campaign to do in a solo manner. All it has is missions I get that the game is a sort of an evolution in that the missions all tie into the overall held divers community and they’re going to affect things outside of your own game, but still I bet if I started going through the PlayStation game catalog seven out of 10 games, even if they were solo first person games for choir on network connection, and for good reason are updated content might be added features might be added or changed or modified and in many cases, it’s just because even though you might play the game solo it’s designed around a co-op or a multiplayer experience for instance if I played this game by myself solo which I assume as possible, do I need online? Why would I need to be online if I’m going to play entirely solo so to be fair it could be just the opposite most games like this when war frame came out, it was nothing but missions, those missions could be done solo or co-op matchmaking or with a prearranged team, so shouldn’t it be sad that I could play solo without connecting to the Internet wouldn’t that make sense?
