Great example of the many small details: To open the “drop pods” putting off the gold beams of light with rewards in them, you can press the action button….or you can simply get close and salute them!

Favorite moment, fighting bugs on a jungle planet while dropping napalm. I said to my friend, "fortunate son intensifies." This game creates so many cinematic moments. It is so surreal.

What I really like about this game, like you say at 8:40, is that they have brought the idea of 'Galactic Conquest' from Star Wars Battlefront 2 to a PvE CooP experience. With live reactive data bringing life and meaning to the efforts of every single player out there. What an incredible concept... AND they pulled it off flawlessly.

I think what they had in Helldivers 1 with it's ongoing wars and planet system captures gave them a good groundwork to make what they have today which is pretty much improved in every way compared to Helldivers 1.

Arrowhead managed to make everyone feel hatred for their Big Bad Evil Guy in their storytelling. It’s like everyone is part of a table top game going “We all need to save the world!”

On one part it makes me very happy to see such a polished game and entertaining game have incredibly sucess. A CEO telling people to buy it after the servers have been fixed, instead of feeling like they wasted their money, its just amazing and showcases the love and work they put into the game. They WANT you to enjoy it. And then it makes me sad, looking at other games and their studios, Starfield offering space travel and exploration with tons of loading screens. And the devs of helldivers went out of their way to create an epic loadingscreen. I will never get tired of the music when dropping towards the planets surface. On top of that, this game is incredibly immersive. No tutorial boxes that require you to click a "OK" button. The already mentioned, incredible transition from entering your hellpod up until landing on the surface. If it wans´t for the loading circle in the bottom right corner, i would have never assumed it was a loading screen. You literally see other players ships in orbit. You fly across the planet if you want to get into a different mission area. You´re never pulled out of the game and its universe

You know that action movie trope , where one of the sacrificial heroes pulls the pin on a grenade and jumps right into the oncoming hole to try and slow them down? 😅 I once did that to a giant terminated swarm coming in while holding a Eagle 500 K. G strike stratagem, yeah, that... that explosion was glorious to behold!

Hey Cami, welcome to the fight for Super Earth! It's been really satisfying to watch a genuinely good game from a smaller developer come out of left field and blow the entire AAA industry out of the water. I played the first Helldivers quite a bit, and it's always stuck with me as an example of game development done right. Arrowhead really deserve the success they've had with Helldivers 2, even if it is giving them some technical trouble at the moment. The Galactic War metagame is probably the coolest way to do live service, and I'm really excited to see what they'll do with it. But man, between this and Deep Rock Galactic, it's never been more fun to do my part!

Helldivers 2 is proof of the classic theory that if you make a good product, with the idea of fun being on the front instead of just money,in genres of games that are long ignored (like coop) it can work. Too bad that what companies are gonna see,is how to make something similar while doing a half job in the game itself,and all focus on the store

personally i couldnt get past the movement and the discarding of ammo (as a reload enjoyer), but i am both glad others are enjoying it but sad i couldnt get into it. it does look fun

Helldivers 2 is simply a "must wait a while before you play" game. The core gameplay is amazing, but the game is full of bugs when it comes to the servers, online multiplayer *which is completley needed to play* trying to add and invite people etc. The servers are always full aswell and until they are fixed and you can play the game whenever you wish too I dont think it is worth buying.

Glory to the god emperor of man!… Wait wrong game for democracy! Crazyest story: space Vietnam v bots. We got smoked the first time we attempted a bot mission so we turned down the difficulty. Which was a good idea, then we chose to role play the salamander space marines and rescue important personnel. We got just destroyed no chance we were winning that fight (tanks v flamethrowers) but we pressed on. Didn’t get any objective done just desperately trying to stay alive and trying to get to the evacuation. We failed but I still think it to be the best game I ve had.

It really is an amazing game. It's just a shame getting passed the "servers are full" message is 100% random, there is no que. It could take 2 minutes, it could take 6 hours. Really hoping that Battle Bit updated comes out soon to keep me occupied till they fix it.

Game is fine, but Servers are F*cked. They can't handle current numbers of players, especially on Weekends and holidays (it's around 500k, and it's only on steam!) My personal recommendation: Wait about 1 month or 2, until initial Hype went down + devs manage to fix their servers. Just in case, I was playing from initial release and I have preordered the game (I have played first Helldivers, and it was fun game). During a couple first days it was fine - right now it's abysmal, especially on weekends. You can sit in login queue the entire day and never enter into the game because servers are Overcapacity and completely f*cked. This game is basically suffering from own Success.

Why does everyone praise it, while the monetisation and especially anti-cheat issue hardly gets a passing mention? What's nProtect GameGuard doing in a co-op game where something much less egregious and invasive would more than suffice? We just collectively stop caring if the game is fun. This and the unresolved server issues are actively preventing me from buying the game, as awesome as it is from the gameplay side..

Make sure to leave positive steam reviews, right now the game is sitting at 68% just due to its servers having trouble at launch, which is sad to see.

well after an hour of gameplay, i've come to the conclusion this game is just...not it. I have a review up about it explaining my experience but to summarize: 1. god awful experience just getting the game to run 2. no enemies till objective reached, once more at extraction. let me be clear not a single enemy showed besides those two moments 3. incredibly boring side objective areas, or areas I can't even access without a second person. 4. its seriously not as good as people make it out to be, and that frustrates me to no end. thank god for refunds.
