A reporting mechanism is direly needed. And if a player is reported too often, he/she should be forced to wear a distinctive "traitor's cape" that shows everyone what kind of a person he/she is. Can't even begin to imagine the fun helldivers would have with those traitors.

Better idea, once main mission complete happens then kick is disabled. Kick is reenabled on an individual player basis if that player kills a teammate to allow intentional team killing to still be punishable.

Although I never got kicked joining missions, I started hosting for this exact reason. Just to avoid it outright. Coming up to level 50 and have never once kicked anyone. Some people really are too trigger happy with the kick button. Heck, had a guy climb up in front of me while I was shooting and obviously he died, called him back in immediately and he crushed me with his hellpod and then he called me back in immediately. A little annoying sure, but also kinda funny.

I recently dropped in on a random suicide difficulty mission and despite being not great at Helldivers in general I was holding my own pretty well, I even had super samples on my person for a handful of minutes, but when the host saw me with the malevelon creek cape I just saw "ew a creeker lol" pop up in the chat box before I got kicked for nothing Cool, I really wanted to spend 15 minutes with supers on hand just to get kicked cause of a cape :/

Sometimes a kick is necessary for unwilling players that can’t listen to a goddamn word you gave to them repeatedly, but a dirtbag host is just as bad because of how kick happy they can be similarly to a Discord moderator. You’ll just have to host by yourself and do things fairly and not immaturely. The golden rule is still important.

I was host and started playing an eradicate terminids mission solo, got to 80 percent and three people drop in (lvl 12, 23, and 17 and i am lvl 74) got the mission done and as we are all getting ready to extract he looks right at me and kills me. I had a game where I was host and 3 of us have just finished the eradicate mission and are mopping up the remainders so we can easily grab the samples since they stop spawning. A random joins in and is helping us for a minute and they are the first to jump in the shuttle, robbing the rest of us from the samples. I didn’t kick him but I killed him in the pelican. Easy fix. Dev disables kick button once the Pelican is called. Also if the host kicks a lot, more then average then less people are redirected to his server. Deep Rock Galactic did this and they has been very successful for 10 years.

I had to kick my entire team of randoms once. I'm playing low level missions to farm stuff, I tell them as they join, they rush to the objective and go for extraction in 3 minutes. Had to kick them all to prevent the Pelican from landing. Most people don't understand that xp and leveling only gives you new grades and nothing else, requisition is the easiest thing to get and that samples, medals and super credits are the point of the game to progress and unlock things. Rushing the mission is pointless unless you are playing at hard levels

After calling evac, they killed me, took my stuff, killed me with my stuff (I was using heavy LMG as a support with max BPM, that thing melts a healthbar), called me back again, and after I've killed them they kicked me. -One last story. The day the Heavy LMG came out, I bought it, and joined an SOS. They killed me for my stuff then kicked me. Will I stop helping newer players ?, absolutely not. Will I immediately shoot someone as a warning if they aim at me, yes.

That’s the double edged sword of a game whose core gameplay is about trust, cooperation and having each other’s back. Scenarios like this are just bound to happen sometimes, but it’s the “cost of business,” and such a possibility makes the good sessions all the better. I remember when I played Left 4 Dead a lot with little other choice than joining public games, after slogging through too many sessions good, bad or mild - eventually I came upon a really cool sociable group who were happy to add me as part of their nightly L4D gaming. I did this to a couple guys who were griefing. Like one guy threw a cluster bomb on the Pelican with 1 minute to go and only 1 reinforcement. Killed three of us, including himself. Last guy calls reinforce, the griefer is the first to drop. Hell yeah I kicked him before he got on. Another guy was being a dunce and got called out by mic by a higher level player. He pretty much told him quit being stupid. So then he decides to run off on a level 7 blitz mission to go extract without us. As soon as he called in pelican I kicked him. My experience has been that higher levels kick a lot more cos they think they're leet or something. I had very positive experience with lvl 10 or less. People were good and motivated. Above lvl 20 is a gamble

My first impression in the first mission as level 1 player was the following: playing the game on easiest difficulty for the first time, had a real teamkiller on my open game with 2 other friends and as i try to enter the pelican my high leveled friebd and i got killed and that jackass left the game afterwards. He was a cobsokeplayer. Just joining in to ruin the game for a newcomer. Almost considered it to quit the game then and there but chose otherwise. May that jackass get only lost games as punishment for his/her atrocities

One game we did all the objectives, called for extraction, then this one guy goes psycho and starts killing everybody. I got revived by another player before they got killed and managed to kill this guy before he killed me, and I called reinforcement for the other guys. The extraction ship is just arriving, when someone revives the guy again and he kills us all.

I got kicked once for using a 380 on a bug breach and two intersecting patrols. Behind us was a door, super samples, and the objectives... Host shot me, told me that I don't know how to play the game for using a 380 cuz it would kill us... outside of it's range.. and then poof gone.

Kicks should be registered and logged, along with some in-game info (game duration as well as objective status). If moderators see someone with multiple kicks when objective is at "escape" that should be considered suspicious. Sometimes the person deserve the kick (but 99% if that is the case it is because of trolling and would probably happen before the end of the game). But if someone is kicking others a lot at the end, that's it ! Warning first, then soft-ban !

@@ADHD_God5489 I think they just wanted a full lobby to do the difficulty but didn’t want us to get any rewards, if I could I’d link the replay I took on my pc, because it shows him kicking everyone during extract. I was already in the shuttle and after he got in he kicked me and the other two. I was in the middle of the cutscene where the pelican takes off when I got kicked

20 mins into the mission I get kicked out for doing side objectives and clearing out outposts as the host cant handle the main objective in suicide difficulty. Never been kicked out of a Helldive

Why would anyone wanna do this? Every Helldiver, even if they join late contribute to liberation and such. Kicking them is literally just being selfish and stopping your fellow comrades from progressing. I can sort of understand if you joined a 40min operation late/ during extraction, but don't kick them because of that

They need to remove kicking at the end of the game since we were all about to extract and get kicked by a toxic host. The only time you should be allowed to get kicked at the end is too much friendly fire imo. This is dumb and has wasted plenty of people's time.

Well sure shitters happen but for every 1 crappy group there's 20 fun or decent ones Community is overall decent and plays in spirit of good fun and coop Couple days ago i had a good lad and we did well on the objectives and then we were just waiting for pelican and we talked about robots and how maybe not all of them want to fight us and then we decided we're both bot sympathisers and we exploded ourselves together ^Single random encounter like that to me is worth 100 of the bad ones, worth it Also i don't know for sure because i never checked but i'm semi-sure you can't get kicked so easily as a host And i mostly just host unless i'm playing with friends. So i never got kicked, i had rage quitters but never got kicked myself

I'm very on guard at extract. I'll be behind cover til the last second. One guy was prone looking at me, I was thinking that's weird. Sure enough he lit me up right before I got on the plane. Fucking trolls

I've turned off crossplay cause PS5 players kept kicking me after the whole Sony thing, also i kick people that spam the reinforce button while everyone is running for their lives cause you can be a little kid somewhere else.
