If it's not a direct headshot, it can consistently kill titan and chargers in 2 shots. 1 shot if it hits on the forehead. Spear weakness is the ammo economy.

You gotta get you and a homie with the supply backpack, you have the spear and supply pack, he has your spear backpack and you do reload each other for 15 rapid fire spears before resupplying

My only gripe with the spear now is that I feel it should do a lot more base damage but have no bonus weakspot damage

I think the weakspot damage is good, as it means I actually want to bait enemies into lining themselves up.

If I wanted to do that I’d use the recoiless. The benefit of the lock on is absurd accuracy at great range which doesn’t lend itself well to baiting enemies, especially when they draw close

@@Bananaramuh You don't *need* to bait them for it to work. It is pretty capable if you are just patient or approach from the right angle, and it feels satisfying to land.

@@Toni_mk2 It one shots any bug that u hit in the face with it. Strat for titans an chargers is get some distance, shoot with primary to get it's attention, then as it's coming towards you, lock on and hit it in the face.

Rather then a fire and forget system like it is now, I wish it operated like the launcher it's based off of. Designate a target by keeping it in your crosshairs for the whole time of flight.

Was feeling the same way. I still liked it for how usefully it was before with harsher restrictions on lock on requirements. This just means I can shoot it more. And I'm pretty consistent with looking for ammo at any close poi so I don't feel ammo problems much as some people are making it out to be

Same same, I’ve been using the rail strike with the spear and that’s been saving me a couple of shots when I don’t have or if I’m close to running dry and that’s been super useful.

0:38 this is why I don't use the Spear. Relies on you being in the perfect location in order to 1 shot bile titans and chargers. Otherwise that bile titan took 3 spears and still lived

It's really satisfying when you get the perfect shot. Even better is if you get below the titan and stand in just the right spot while it's facing you, the rocket just goes straight into its head. The thruster and guidance don't even activate so it just slowly bonks the titan and one shots it. Very funny and surprisingly effective

@@Toni_mk2 No, not that I know of. Don't get me wrong, I loved the way they reworked the spear. Worked until that one planet. Nivel 43 and playing with my 2 friends in a 3 man team I picked the spear and crashed 3 times always re-joining. My friend said since I keep crashing for some reason with it, he'll take the spear. Then he crashed twice. Third friend took the spear and sure enough, also crashed. Then we went on a different planet and no issue. Seeing reports on their discord for it happening to others too. Very odd.

Unfortunately, the new experience for many players is a CTD. In that regard, I liked the "bugged" version more. At least you could use it against bile spewers or hulks and not crash 80% of the time.

I saw a tweet, once he stepped down he said he’ll have more of the people that tweak the guns actually try them out before a patch is released and hopefully that’s why so much changed and it keeps moving in the right direction.
