I like how we've got that cheery, boppy music on the title screen while a flaming skull stares at you ominously.

Nothing quite says late-era C64 quite like that giant metallic looking HUD on the bottom half of the screen.

Always liked the music in this and the graphics were well-drawn. Nice one.

I don't consider myself as a bad gamer, but hell hole was one of those games were me and my friends would die within 5 seconds, and would have to wait 5 minutes for the stuff to load again, the guy here playing hellhole makes this look like a walk in the park, we never managed but among my friends you already be God if you would make it to the second level.

Well, I just discovered that when you will pick up the icon with a gun, guns are rotating in your menu. If you will press fire on the "biggest one", it will be selected. This one actually is the most powerful and lets me get through the flying monster at 5:44. This way making the first level is considerably a piece of cake. Great game.

I bought this game new in a blister pack twice on Ebay, it never launched, I don't get past the loading screen or I have a "load error". I don't understand... all the copies of this game on Ebay are defective ? All my other 9 tape games work except Hellhole which never wanted to launch on 2 copies purchased from 2 different sellers ! A real mystery...if a Hellhole and Commodore 64 specialist comes across my com...thanks in advance !

I thought the same thing as soon as I saw his animation, pretty sure it is too.

And the game engine looks like that of Hawkeye.

Another 90s game that shamelessly stole assets from successful previous games. This hero sprite looks very much like Arnie from the C64 "Predator" movie tie-in game.
