Wyatt’s Tractor Sales took a trip to Leslie, Missouri to the Helling Farm Auction hosted by Helling Farm.
This auction featured a large amount of farm equipment, tractors, tools, livestock equipment, lawn mowers and other miscellaneous. That 44 MH would interest me. Dad was running 260 acres in 1965 and a 44 was all he could afford. That and a Case 3 bottom plow was faster than the John Deere B with a 2 bottom. All of those acres were ear corn picked with a one row picker. Farming in the 1960s was for real hardcore men.

I appreciate your feedback, the auction called it a 5000, that’s what I thought it was but without decals or a tag to tell me I could have went either way. I’ve never gotten into Fords much myself and I’m not as familiar with them as say a Massey or an Oliver.
