​@@gre8Kalkstein is Meyer's Rapier, isn't he? I think there's a plan for a Conquistador-like character with Bolognese, not sure though, might be Escrima Antigua instead.

@@MasoTrumoi I'm not well versed in Meyer's rapier, but his style seems to employ a very forward leaning posture for the torso and mostly linear blade work, whereas bolognese has a very upright torso posture and those elegant wide blade swings. Plus, Kalkstein is using a Schiavona which isn't really a rapier, so I'm inclined to believe his style is mostly bolognese. But as a said, I'm not well versed in either Meyer's rapier nor Bolognese, so I could be wrong.

The two different fighting styles of the players themselves are so clearly seen here. Kate gets in close, and benefits from an aggressive, short-ranged sword. Jacob, meanwhile, is great on the defense with longer swords, but mostly stays reactive.

Please remember, if you want to fight other players, you have hellish quart PVP servers so you can fight others, that's the only way you can experience "multiplayer"

Hey Kubold! Can you please add goat hat skin option for every character that don't have one? Here is the list that don't have one: (Yendrek, default Samuel, Kalkstein, Gedeon, default Jan, default Barabasz, Marie, Default Laszlo, default Alexander, Marta, Father Żera, Jacek) And remove goat hat from barabasz second red guy skin, i want to see a clean version. It also gives first secondary skin for the characters that didn't have any options.

Will there be more female characters added? Out of the 17 characters on the menu it looks like only either 3 or 4 of them (I'm not sure the gender of the greyed out character at the bottom) are female. I'm not sure how many characters total are planned or how many of those have already been conceptualized, so maybe having a balance of male and female characters isn't feasible, but if not maybe just adding some characters that have different models but the same swords and moves as other ones could be done? It would just be cool if the final release could be a bit more balanced genderwise. EDIT: The fact that anytime someone says "I wish there were more female characters I could play as" about any game, everyone rushes to respond with a bunch of arguments why there shouldn't be, is just as and maybe more annoying than the lack of female characters itself. If you're going to reply with an argument please know that I think literally any reason you give is a stupid reason and I don't care what you think

Hello rylie. There are currently 3 female characters available and at least a 4th one coming (a neat one, AFAIK). Even if the final ratio should be of 4 female and 20 male characters, considering the historical and cultural context of the game, it would be a generous ratio gender-wise. In fact, on Steam forum we have had multiple times people complaining about those few female characters being in the game.

​@@scassoniostrarompi1691 I echo your comment. Hellish Quart is unique in that it's trying to be historical and should try to stick to that. Women fighters were not common, so it wouldn’t be historical to include so many (some certainly existed, but it was certainly not commonplace). To be clear, I am not against the depiction of women in the game. I would encourage it actually. Hellish Quart is a work of fiction, and fiction needs exceptional characters to tell exceptional stories. Hellish Quart is also a fighting game, and diverse characters lead to more diverse movesets. I think the current ratio of male to female characters set by Kubold strikes the perfect balance. It maintains the historical image and expectation; while still being able to create unlikely but still historically plausible characters.

@@alfieomega I think the swords all these characters are using are from a number of different centuries and wouldn't be likely to be used against each other in sword fights. Plus there's a drunk sword fighting monk. So given it's already not historically realistic, it would be a dumb reason to forbid having more female characters. And the fact that people on the forums are already complaining about 3 female characters is insanely childish
