only thing i don't like is that it needs replays on the kills

With a longsword, you have to let the range work for you, because your weapon is slower than a shorter blade. If you get too close, the shorter blade will win.
@christophermikiewicz70832 жыл бұрын
In the video it seemed like the scimitar had a longer range than the longsword lol

This game seems to be missing a crucial aspect of swordplay in the failure to include stamina as a resource. As much as these people are swinging their swords, they'd be very tired long before killing blows landed.
@ZackTheChiller2 жыл бұрын
if i understand correctly it actually has a stamina mechanic (think the commentators even mentioned "tired" isabella at one point) but uh it seems to be pretty lenient
@GeekTalkwithMerg2 жыл бұрын
@@ZackTheChiller I've never played it and only just discovered the game, but it doesn't look like it has one. Don't misunderstand, the game looks dope af, but without a legit stamina mechanic, I'm less impressed overall.
@alfieomega2 жыл бұрын
I have played the game, there is indeed a stamina mechanic, where if players move too much and make it too low, they'll throw exhausted attacks (1:00 is one such example done by Isabella, which is then punished) but as you can see, it is indeed very lenient a stamina rework update was just released though so no more of this going around
@GeekTalkwithMerg2 жыл бұрын
@@alfieomega that's awesome to hear. The potential for a game like this is sky high, but realism matters. I think it'd be really cool if, as your stamina drops, everything your character does ie not just attacks, but movement and blocks/parries, etc) gets incrementally slower, but there remains no visible meter.

Most didn't. The ones that did were the ones that were very, _very_ good at it, and since by that point they typically went up against people with far less experience, once they started winning they _kept_ winning.

Practice, wearing armor and mercy. Being incapacitated didint always mean death, though you could be crippled for life.

Imagine this kind of sword fighting in an open world game, it would be so great
@EnragedOxygen2 жыл бұрын
This kind of fighting would suck in an open world. It's good because its 1v1, imagine doing all these feints just to get stabbed in the back.
@Gaiden-Shinji8752 жыл бұрын
@@EnragedOxygen Then an open world game that is designed around that, or include measures to allow fighting against multiple opponents. That's why I said "this kind of sword fighting" would be great, and not an exact copy of it. Lethal fighting, actual clashing of swords, and based around skill instead of stats
@Brorrowind2 жыл бұрын
@@Gaiden-Shinji875 It would become tedious to play very fast though, I could see it working in a more linear story-based game, but in an open world game like Skyrim and it's contemporaries, it would suck. open world games are made to be played for a long time. Not that i'm saying this combat is bad or that open world games have good combat, but theres many reasons this kind of combat is rare at best in open world games.
@Gaiden-Shinji8752 жыл бұрын
@@Brorrowind It would be a foundation at least. The problem with open world combat, in most cases, is that it's kinda boring. Just hack 'n' slash and stats. Skyrim combat is one of the worst, but I would imagine a mix of combat of Hellish Quart, Bannerlord or something along those lines, would be more interesting if they could expand on it to work in an open world. I like combat that relies on player skill and tactics, having defensive options along with offensive options. Something a little more gritty and grounded
@Brorrowind2 жыл бұрын
@@Gaiden-Shinji875 You should play Dark Souls then.

Hit boxes seem to be terrible in this game - a lot of those killing strikes are not visually connecting.
@Juusokakku2 жыл бұрын
Yeah. A lot of times they don't seem to make sense when they happen, and rewatching the clip makes even less sense. Like 3:35 it doesn't make sense that the sabre would reach all the way to opponents chest (which it apparently did because of the death animation. Maybe those are sometimes incorrect?)
