Blackwells in the UK ships new books to the US for free. Their prices are similar to Barnes and Noble.

James McBride and all his backlist are on my reading radar. I don't read a lot of memoirs/autobiographies, but I may definitely read KEM. He's such an awesome artist. I remember seeing him at the Cincinnati Music Festival and he gave a small testimony about his life and I just loved him even more. I never think to go to 5 Below for journals although I don't need more....lol! OOOOO...that owl elastic band is adorable.

IKR…the owl book band is so cute! When I lived in Ypsilanti, Michigan, KEM’s road manager lived directly behind us and offered passes to his performances, however we moved away as this was developing 😢. I have sooo many journals that I don’t even write in. 😅 Thanks for watching. ❤

My jaw just dropped! Thank you for the UK resources recommendations. I originally wanted to purchase the UK edition of And Then She Fell by Alicia Elliott, but wasn't sure how to do so. At the end of December I grabbed a copy of The Heaven and Earth Grocery Store and I'm going to squeeze in a read some time this year. That owl book band is so cute! See you in the next video indeed.

@@DonnasBookAddiction Oh my goodness. I genuinely had such a great reading year in 2023 I'm not sure where to start. I'll try not to create too big of a list. And Then She Fell is written by an indigenous author and focuses on mental health, motherhood, and an indigenous character dealing with microaggressions by the new suburban community she just moved into. Disability Visibility edited by Alice Wong is a non-fiction anthology discussing civil rights issues the disabled community face. The last two I'll recommend are Why Willie Mae Thornton Matters by Lynnee Denise & A Little Devil in America by Hanif Abdurraqib. Both are non-fiction and discuss artists that have left a huge impact musically. I'll cut myself before I make this too long. Thank you!

@@booksgurrsandpurrs thank you for the recommendations. I have become more aware of books by indigenous authors by and about the history. Thanks!
