Anybody else get the vibe that Charles was really in love with Vincent? Not in a sexual way, of course, since I think he’s canonically ace. Maybe even platonically.

I think so. He idolized Vincent as a god, and a lot of instances he acts like he cares for Vincent more than a normal friendship, especially compared to how he acts around Anri. And yes! He's canonically acearo. It really hurt when at the end Vincent said he didn't particularly feel much for Charles since Charles definitely had strong feelings for him :(

I think that despite what Vincent said, he actually did feel a special attachment to Charles (even if it was very small.) In the character information file that comes with the download, Etherane says “I’d like the readers to pay attention to what he does rather than what he says.” I feel like, even though, in the ending, he is being more honest and genuine than he has been the whole game, he is still relying heavily on his bad coping methods (as Etherane says “his twisted way of rationalizing the way he experiences the world) and self-defense mechanism. When it comes down to Vincent’s previous suicide attempt, the thing that stopped him was Charles’ notebook. Even though he thought it was silly, deep down he felt devoted enough to him that he wanted to return it, enough to halt his attempt to end his life. I feel like he would’ve gone through with it, had it not been for the connection he shares with Charles, whether he denies that connection or not.

Also! I just saw that technically Charles is asexual, but it doesn’t say he’s aromantic. Maybe there’s hope for my non-sexual/physical romantic Charles x Vincent ship after all. ;u; they’re my OTP

nemesis of dawn Yeah, I believe Vincent wasn't being honest about his feelings for Charles, and the notebook part is a big reason why I feel that way.I'm sure Charles was the one thing he looked forward to, with all the shit going on at home, how isolated he is, and just how Charles never questioned him about stuff and was just there for him. Still hurt a lot to read the ending cause like I said in this video I think Vincent committed suicide again, with all the HC3 parallels so this time the things he said really hurt to read :,( Charles x Vincent is my OTP too! Hopefully the steam bonus content has some extra ship stuff, and I know it''s kinda slim thinking, but I hope it shows that Vincent didn't die.

I never thought of it to much but doesn’t it seem like Charles is made out of two parts? “Frei”: being his knowledgeable side, realistic and rational side without caring for anybody except few people. “Charlotte”: the Kind side wishing for friends, emotional and hopeful side that tries to cary everything on her shoulders Also it could be that if scarlet had been born that Charles could have become completely like Frei maybe with emotions but still more like Frei. Since the mother started calling him his “little girl” in the third game. It could be that he wanted to do everything for his mother even if it meant lying to himself. Also Vincent and him have kinda a relationship like the ink princess and the paper princess. Vincent killed himself and left Charles in a worse situation then before = the ink princess started to cover up the paper princess until she was cover in ink like her the color never able to go away.

The second and third games imply at multiple points that Charles (and Charlotte, in a metaphorical sense) has Dissociative Identity Disorder. So does Anri's diary.

In most of Hello Charlotte, Charlotte's personality comes from Charles' Tulpa, Scarlette, but in this game she seemed to be talking a bit more directly through Charles' point of view than Scarlettes to me

@@rawdasalmataman7908 I'd say it's the latter (doesn't have a fixed personality) since the series has shown multiple Charlotte's with different personalities like Q84, I thought of this one as being close to HC2 Charlotte but with a closer connection to Charles than Scarlet for this games Charlotte so I'm assuming she's the first Charlotte Charles created since he's still alive in this game and Frei seems to be closer to be having a mental grip on Charles than Charlotte so these characters come across more as characters in his head than characters with a whole world in the earlier games
