Yechan is like that because the grandparents don't correct him and always taking his side. He might still be considered a baby in their eyes, but he should be taught manners and how to respect his elders. Kids know and even at this early age, how far they can push the boundary.

I don't think using the excuse "He's just a child" is a reason to let kids do what they want. Kids learn early, the earlier you tell them the rights from wrong the better they know later on

Listen to what Hong Sukchun said, I think that's very accurate. It's not a concern because of her being sociable, it's her method of approaching strangers that can cause them to misunderstood her character.
@Blue-kv8wg
@Blue-kv8wg 10 жыл бұрын
It causes a lot of misunderstanding. Also, it is considered impolite to approach strangers in that type of manner in Korea. Maybe it wouldn't be a concern if she talks to strangers in a more polite way, simply saying "Hello. Good day" or something. The way she approaches others is kind of weird, specially in Korea.

Jen Ramos I have to admit that her method is inappropriate and made people misunderstood toward her. Her behavior to greet people is really weird and can be quite dangerous since there's some people want to hit her (sigh)

The 1st concern I can related to Saerom concern. It might sound silly to say this about kids, but some kids are so bad. They acted all lovey dovey and show respect to you when your parents, or their parents are around, but when the adults are gone, they turned into a sly fox you can never imagined Lol I seriously got goosebumps when Yechan says 'Samchun, saranghae', the kid is so damn smart and cute xD Hope he and Saerom make up with each other

I'm more concerned with the fact that the girl from the third concern almost got hit by men on multiple occasions for just being a bit 'weird'. Just move away if the person is creeping you out, there's no need to raise your hand to someone that hasn't done anything to harm you.

yeah exactly, I was wondering the same thing too. When I'm with my bff i'll act goofy etc. I even one time wore a scream mask in a gas station (it was a neighborhood gas station and they knew us) and joked around with people and nobody got offended at all. Everybody laughed and in fact I even made someone's day lol but the main point is that whenever my friend or myself acted goofy no one tried to put their hands on us. Like you said that's the most concerning issue.

Korean culture is still very conservative. You may get away with that in places like the U.S., but try that kind of stuff in some Middle East regions and you'll get something much worse than a hand to the face. Kids raised in Korean culture know much better than to act like that to strangers (especially their elders) as that kind of act isn't above an ass-whooping. That's why many Westerners misinterpret certain Asians as being "timid" or "rude" when not acknowledging strangers in an openly friendly manner, but to them it is just being polite and respectful..

I find it very interesting that talking to strangers and starting conversations is considered "brave" in Korea lol. I'm originally from New Orleans and it's kind of second nature to speak to random people in the South. When I moved to New York a lot of people were initially surprised that I would talk to them and openly compliment them but almost all end up saying that it made their day.

@diamcole

iKill4MyLove It's kind of the opposite in the US. It's seen as rude, for the most part, if you walk by people without speaking. Usually people will say good morning or if something funny happens, they'll laugh and chat about it together or at the very least acknowledge one another by smiling.
@iKill4MyLove

diamcoleman It's just the cultural difference that's at fault, the mainstream media doesn't try to educate people on that either, which is the biggest problem in the world but I felt so awkward when I first came here to America like you don't talk to people older than you till you're talked to in school but I was like O_O "Were you speaking to me?"
@diamcole

iKill4MyLove It's very interesting! A lot of my friends this semester are international students and they had trouble adjusting at first as well. I just asked them to let me know if anything our professors did made them feel uncomfortable. That way I could let the professor know after class that there were some cultural differences and to please be sensitive to that.

About the girl in the last concern, I also work at a calling center and I have to hear a lot of bad things and hurtful things, but I eventually got used to it, even if it does upset me at times, it does not get to me as much. If she is vulnerable and weak to things like that, she should quit her job or something. Also, this may be just my perspective and opinion.. But I do not think being angry and working at a calling center have anything to do with eachother. I have a really bad temper, and I react on impulse as well, but even if it has been a habit, I try to slowly fix it. If she is aware it affects the people around her, she should try to make an effort and make some change. Of course, it is hard because she is not used to it, but her first step could be to apologize after she has done some thinking and have calmed down. P.S for those who get calls from calling centers, please don't be mean to us.. we are just doing our job, if you dont like it, please kindly refuse! c:

1st concern: The mother ha to pay more attention to her son and I would even say the sister has to take more care into Her son. The grandmother should not have to be raising her grandchild.. she didn't bore him, so why is she responsible? I understand where the boy is coming from.. A son needs his mother, to wipe the tears away to be compassionate and show him love when he needs it. They really need their alone mother-son time, so they can build a strong relationship. The father needs to have interest in his son. Whooh.. if that child is not intelligent! The child is very smart and knows how to manipulate to get what he wants.. thats why you put the fear of seniority in him. The child thinks he's king, well someone has to dethrone.. if the mother cant do, if the grandparents cant do it, then its up to the uncle. The boy should discipline the child.. discipline does not always mean hit. One simply way of discipling he could use is putting him in time-out in a corner.. that could work. I just hope better for this family.

The sociable girl should try going to other countries. Korea isn't really that open and the people there are mostly conservative and value manners/ use honorifics so its kinda hard for her to fit in.. I'm glad she's different and she's just being herself which is a really hard thing to do nowadays cause you'll get judged. There's nothing wrong with it. I WOULD TOTALLY WANNA BE HER FRIEND because I'm the exact opposite of her. I think it'll be fun to have a friend like her :D and to those guys who wants to punch her: YOU DONT DESERVE TO BE A MAN OR TO HAVE A GIRLFRIEND
@baphomet345
@baphomet345 9 жыл бұрын
I agree with you, most commenters here are not understanding why her friend think her friendly and sociable behaviour might be a concern, the main reason is because she lives in Korea where her behaviour is not considered normal, in fact it's considered very rude, people can also misunderstand her intentions which can result in her getting hurt, you never know what kind of stranger you're dealing with, she has to be very careful especially when teasing guys, she already admitted she was nearly hit a couple of times, world is a crazy place, the next guy she approaches might be a murderer or a rapist or a gangster, so she need to know whom to open up to and whom not to, middle aged women and kids are fine in my eyes. Her behaviour might not be a big deal in some other countries but in Korea the country she's living in it is a big deal.

The story of the crying man made me cry the whole times. In fact, my whole family is this way. If one of us cries we all cry, happy moments or sad. I cry for random things like seeing people wave their country flags - it makes me happy to know that the world is so diverse - or other patriotic things. I've cried singing the national anthem once. I've also cried at church just thinking about how it's amazing how many people worship the same thing I do. My dad, like the man has cried saying "I love you," and we ending up all crying with him. Can imagine the man crying buckets when they have a child. It's funny and cute. Might be annoying, but think it's kind of cute in a way lol. And I completely understand how the lady feels about her job. I've worked at call centers before and absolutely hated the abuse. People can be so rude! I've also felt like not waking up in the morning, wishing I'd die in my sleep so I didn't have to go back to the call center. I tended to just avoid people after work because the toll it takes on you having to deal with the abuse. Was even worse when living with mother, because I'd have to hear her complain about something every day after I get off work, when I'd already been at work all day with people complaining and cursing and being rude to me for just doing what's part of my job.

Wow, I loved this episode so much just because of the crying guy :) I relate so much its not funny. I am like that as well, I cry when I am sad, happy or angry. Yet it started for me when I was in high school, my knowledge of it is I have my emotions on my sleeves so they easily erupt. Sometimes I wish these tears would stop but they never seem to. People know me as the easy type as well, saying I cry easily because I fall easily. He however, is lucky because he has someone now, and someone who loves him even with his crying mentality. That is hard for me coz most boys I met hated my crying so I stayed away from people. Congrats on finding someone and coming out with your weakness and strength :)

Tbh, I would have loved to be friends with the energetic girl. I'm not very social (don't approach new people) because I often fear I might bother others, so I really appreciate when someone approaches me first (in the friendly way). That girl would totally make me feel more confident. She seems really fun. ^^ Btw, anyone know the song played in 46:57 ?

Hello all :P I have also a nuisance which is related by blood and my mom says he's my lil brother. But unlike that kid in I can use the nuisance for my advantage. This all started when I was 10 years old and my parents asked me, do you want a lil brother? I said no, I hate small children. Then they asked, what about a lil sister? I said, oh, yes that would've been nice! I liked the advantage of being a single kid, but I knew those parents of mine would get cozy (I knew about it, they booked a hotel room), they cannot trick me. I wanted a sister because then she'd not take my stuff away because I was a boy and she a girl! And I assumed she'd kind kind girl because I thought all girls were nice! I later found out when i entered 8th grade it was a lie. :( I noticed some changes with my mom around a month later they came out of the hotel, lol. Then something truly weird showed up, but then I saw what I feared the most, it was a elephant... I asked my dad, dad! Why didn't she mommy take abortion? Look what happened we got a ugly lil thing poping out! We were 2 guys in the family, we don't need a 3rd one? it's a bad ratio 1:3 (for every female in the household there are three guys!). But I did not give up, I trained that lil poper and made him obedient. At the first few months I was nice to him(it was so very hard). Later on I teached him what was good and what was bad. I made him dislike my dad, hahaha! If I do something bad I blame him, but I also protect him when he get's confronted. And I buy him sweets, energy drinks to keep up the loyality. But I've decreased the amount I get him and now I do almost nothing for him. And when I ask him get me a coke, coco-bar, a McChicken, oh well let's say it doesn't take long beore he get's it for me. You teach a child a lot of things, better take advantage of that or be sorry later on, your choice.

Elixz Emalius Oh I forgot to mention something else... When your lil brother grows up your parents will show more attention to you! The younger siblings are usually dumber :P. I just hope he won't get taller then me xD. Be nice to him and bitchslap him later! I have made it so far because I do these things and in some few year will be lawyer, muhahaha!

Awww the man that cries a lot shouldn't be ashamed! I've only seen my mom cry about a handful of times in my life (she's not a super emotional person), but I've seen my dad cry more times than I can count! The weirdest situation was when I was at my high school graduation and I was perfectly fine until I saw my dad walking up to me crying and then I started crying, too!! And, I don't cry easily! The most I have ever cried was when my dad passed away, of course, because I was only 19 and it was such a shocking and depressing time in my life. Seeing this concern made me really miss my dad, but made me laugh a lot because I understand exactly what this guy means. I hope he has come to understand that it's okay to cry and he shouldn't be ashamed of it!

I cried when Saerom's aunt talked about him. I am exactly like that, too. I want a lot of things, but I would never want to tell my mom because she always favors my sister. My mom doesn't understand anything about me. She thinks that I hate this or that even though I like it. She has no idea what kind of food I like.

Especially when Dong Yup was like "now you must choose between the two" ahahahaha. =) and the nephew was super evil xD but it's not that fault that he got too spoiled. Crying man is just endearing as hell. Good episode. (HongSukchun its so nice to see you agaiiin

diamcoleman Really? I don't think its only like that in Korea. Here in London, most people just stay to themselves and we always compare ourselves to Americans who are way more outgoing than we are. I guess its just the difference in day to day to culture :) I wish there were more overt people like you guys here haha
@diamcole
@diamcole 10 жыл бұрын
Oh wow really?? People from London have the reputation of being really polite so a lot of Americans think they're super sweet and friendly towards strangers. Yeah Americans are pretty blunt and out there lol. I have to tone it down sometimes so people don't get offended.
@jihann.s468
@jihann.s468 10 жыл бұрын
***** that's not true, I'm a Londoner, it really depends on the area you're in. For example if your in central London and you ask a question you'll get a polite and friendly reply however if you're near a local area there is a chance of the youngers being rude if you approach them. But trust me London is open to foreigner's
@diamcole
@diamcole 10 жыл бұрын
***** Americans typically have that reputation too though and it's not really true. You're going to find rude people wherever you go. Someone from Texas wouldn't be opposed to someone coming up and speaking to them but someone from a big city like New York or Chicago wouldn't really be used to it.
