Actually, almost all the problematic spouses who came to this show gave the same reason. It's so frustrating and maddening. They are not married for love --- They got married because they believed this person would 'serve' them well since he/she took good care of them and made them feel loved. second concern I find both mom and daughters became self-centered. Daughters are old enough to understand why mom wants to pursue her dreams now, and mom is old enough to understand consequences of her past choice and not blame it on daughters because in a way that's what she's doing

the first concern is clearly domestic abuse...where I come from domestic abuse can by law be both verbally and physical. So if she went to court she would probably win the case. But it seem to be different in Korea :/

Even if she doesn't like to eat vegetables, she shouldn't keep her family away from eating food with nutrition. The wife is slow and lazy to began with. I actually kind of understand him. While he's certainly acting poorly, it's not like everything escalated to that point overnight. She kept being indecisive even before he started acting that way, so it got more and more frustrating. He also clearly has issues expressing his emotions, and as I've got the same issue, I know what it ends up like. The easiest emotion is anger, so that's how you end up expressing it. So I think the wife is as much at fault as the husband. As for the food thing, he said that there are two dishes that she cooks, and sure, those might be decent enough, but when you're eating that dish over and over again, it starts feeling bland. She didn't deny this fact either, and as it sounds, she doesn't cook every single day either. She also seems to be a housewife, so those responsibilities usually falls on that person. Yet there are expired food products, clothes lying around, etc. I wouldn't say a thing about it if she had a job, but as a housewife, that is the job. They both have to change, yet the MCs don't see this. It's annoying. I understand that they are supposed to be on the side of the person sending in the message, but they are also supposed to help. It feels like they avoid putting blame on her just because she's unstable due to being treated poorly by the husband for an extended period of time.

I agree with you, it's frustrating to see people so often just take one side without trying to understand the other. He was definitely acting poorly, but most of his issues seemed valid. This got too annoying to watch seeing it being so one sided. This is one of the reasons I'm starting to dislike this show. They should get actual counseling instead of this.

They should have an actual pro among them. There was this one time when they actually had a psychologist as a guest. I wish they would have more people like him on the show. I do like the show because they actually do try to help, but I feel like it's very inadequate at times.

Whatever the wife's faults, none of that is an excuse for the way her husband treats her, particularly because he's so nice to people he's far less close to. He married her, he has a responsibility to her. That's why the MCs sided against him - because he views their relationship as entirely servicing his wants and his needs, and he abuses her because other people clearly take advantage of him and it's the only way he can feel big. Take a close look, that's the kind of behavior you're rationalizing away. If she's so substandard in his eyes, then he should divorce her and try and find some imaginary someone who will cater to him the way he wants. And by the way, good luck with that, that underpants stain.

For the 2nd concern, I do feel that the older daughter has made some (possibly unpopular) but very valid points. First, the feeling that she was uncared for and neglected, while growing up. This is super important because it sets the entire context behind why the daughter acts this way. It's probably hard to empathise if you didn't grow up in the same situation. But as a child, when your mum forgets your birthday each year, or gives you lukewarm responses towards your dreams / progress when you're a clueless young adult (and I believe these small acts of neglect extend to other everyday activities too) - you start to wonder whether she even cares. It seeds a very deep-rooted feeling of hurt and emptiness inside you. And resentment towards your mum. Unfairness about why other kids have parents who care so much, while yours neglects small things like these that mean a lot to you. 22 years of feeling like this. Wouldn't there be an emotional wall that she subconsciously has, towards her mum? Secondly, having "I brought you up so you should do this for me" brought up 5 times a week as a bargaining chip. She makes a good point that while she's grateful, it's also a conscious decision that her mum has made when she was younger. Having this brought up frequently as a bargaining chip, diminishes the value of this noble act of love. It makes the whole "I raised you up" act seem so transactional. It may be fine if she has a great relationship with her mum, but remember that this is set in the context of the long drawn misunderstanding she has with her mum. Yes. The lady is a good, sacrificial mum. But she was lacking as a parent. Neglecting this, and just blaming the daughter for being ungrateful wouldn't solve the problem. Only being aware that it is a deep-rooted issue, and that the daughter is also hurt by her mom's actions (or lack thereof) will lead both sides to take the right actions to start making amends. I've seen most comments berating the daughters, and felt the need to share this alternative pov. Also found Yeongja's comment that "She is annoying" utterly unnecessary and distasteful. The key to solving this issue is to tackle its roots and let them talk it out frankly & sincerely. Communicate. Not censor what the daughter has to say, and only expect her to say sweet, superficial things that her mum wants to hear. The daughter should cheer her mum on more. But at the same time, I agree with what she says. It takes a family member to give you honest, straightfoward feedback. Better that your loved ones do it, than hear sweet nothings all the time, but face even harsher rejections from the real world when you're actually put to the test.

The woman is a manual on how to demotivate your kid 101,you can't even take 5 mins out of your day to praise your kid? And then you make them feel obligated to spend time with you when you never did the same thing for them...does the quote 'treat someone the way you want to be treated' come to mind? You made your kid feel like their achievements were nothing...the oldest one probably finds that it is fine to blow off your achievements the way you did 🤷‍♀️

The first husband was horrible. He didn't want to take any responsibility or even acknowledge his terrible behaviour. The fact that he had the nerve to complain about the food being the same is so childish. He should have either married a chef or a maid. It's so obvious that enjoys being a bully

It took 26 minutes to understand the reason behind the husband in the first concern's anger issues. I couldn't make sense of it until they discussed his interaction with others/his friends. He criticizes his wife for being timid and not changing because those are the very qualities he himself exhibits around his friends and he hates it deep down. He knows they take advantage of him but he doesn't say anything because he wants to be liked and not looked down on. So he goes home and pushes his wife's buttons and when that doesn't work he actually verbally abuses her and hurts her hoping she'll snap at him and stand up for herself the way he wishes he could for himself. He needs to get rid of such friends or learn to accept his role in social hierarchy

The second concern about the 2 daughters, i feel like no one will understand them esp the girl in the white because they think her feelings arent that hurt, but honestly i completely understand her bc my mother didnt pay much attention to me either, didnt care about my grades, never really ever had a proper converstaion with her that left me with a 'wow she loves me', she never even uttered the word. Like first of all the mother isnt good at acting, she just has a blunt face which is easy for her to control because smiling doesnt seem like her thing. I got really annoyed when that lady called the daughter annoying, like i thought you wanted her opinion?? but yeah since the daughter seems like an introvert i dont think she'd be the type to share those deep feelings. I wish they took that into consideration. Being a mother means to sort of 'surrender' your desires in a way - it just comes naturally as an instinct and thats how they usually are, but with her i dont like how she torments her by saying ' oh i did this for you now its your turn' seriously like it doesnt sound harsh putting it like that but you dont know what she really says, since she's stressed she couldve sworn here and there like nobody really knows anything. but yeah this is my rant

to be honest, i think the daughter in the white has a fair point. the fact that their parents raised them shouldn't be used as a bargaining chip, because it makes the parent seem like they're saying raising their child was a hardship when the parents chose to have the child in the first place. plus i'm sure she and her sisters, being young adults, need to think about their own futures rather than take care of their mother's. neither of the daughters seem to know much about acting anyway, so how can she expect them to know how she could improve. my own mum once set up a blog, and when she couldn't do something she asked me, and i have never in my life set up or visited a blog, and she got frustrated when i couldn't help her, despite the fact that she could easily look up the solution on the internet, and i can assure you all that it does get slightly irritating, so personally, i don't think the daughters are that selfish (although i do agree that they could easily cook their own meals and do other chores themselves from time to time and let the mother get on with her acting)

I think the husband and the wife in the first concern should split up or go see a therapist. What the husband is doing is not understandable, it is domestic violence. Sure, he has a right to disagree with his wife but the way he is handling the situation is very poor and this will affect their daughter's life in a negative way. I'm saying all of this because they remind me of my parents, my mom was like the wife someone quiet, passive personality and nice. My dad on the other hand has always been like the husband, he'd always pick fights with my mom, nothing is ever good enough, he's always nicer to other people than his own family, etc... Despite all the obvious domestic abuse, my mom never left my dad because she was afraid my brother and I would grow up without a dad but watching them fight has damaged my brother and I's mental health. I am afraid that the wife will do the same and wont leave the husband because she's too scared to "ruin" her daughters life. What also gets to me is that when the husband was asked why he married her, he did not say he loved her but instead said that it was because he could see how much she loved him. This is another similarity he has with my dad because my dad has always told me "don't look for someone to love, look for someone who loves you" and I find that very disgusting because when you have someone who loves you and you don't, it means that you know you can manipulate them. A relationship/ marriage should be built on mutual love and this marriage is clearly not the case. For the wife's and baby's sake I REALLY hope they split. They will all be very unhappy if they don't put a stop to this and as someone whose parents are like this couple, I can say that their daughter will be unhappy. I will keep this family in my prayers and hope that they don't turn out like mine.

i am not a hardcore feminist but the first concern makes me one. we, women, shouldn't allow men to treat us like we're the weaker gender. women shouldn't just cry and stay away from the problem. we must speak up, make our point, and stand by it. we must defend ourselves against bully husbands/boyfriends or whoever from the men species. men tend to overpower us because women tend to just follow them like we cannot do anything for ourselves. real men doesn't treat women unfairly. if ever we, women, find one, stay away from them. we deserve much better..

The two daughters are so pretty o.o. I think it's both the mothers and daughters fault in this case, neither of them understand what the other went through. I experienced events similar to the daughters so I know that you become unemotional and listless when you have no source of affection (father seems MIA). Hopefully they'll sort it out and understand each other better. But sometimes the fact that your parents sacrificed their dreams for you is not real and you cannot blame the kids.

It tears my heart for the wife in the first worry. the husband won't change. He is so full of himself, and he think he is special. The way he pretend to admit what he have done wrong in front of the crowd makes me wanna cry. Man, i can't believe once was like him. I wanted to be logical, rational, and smart to impress people with not much of knowledge but huge desire to understand everything and desire for admiration. Everything was revolve around me. I thought i was wise and thoughtful listening to other people's concerns whatever, but only what I was thinking was to tell or showoff what I know and etc. I was not truthful to myself. It might not be the case like me, but treating other people better than your wife and communication with the wife with no respect but egocentric mind doesn't look like it's a good relationship.

I think that in the first concern the husband needs to think about what he is actually doing. Hurting someone with words can be way more painful than hitting them. He may not be satisfied by his wife's house management and else but saying it so roughly is just lame.

For the first one, The guy is definitely wrong in speaking wise, but the woman also never was able to argue back about not cleaning and leaving something in the fridge for a long time, which means she is not doing her job really well and he is telling her to work on it, so she has something to fix too. Also the way he talks is really not appreciating, but it is true that the babies' health needs to be cared more in nutrition wise.

I really understand the situation the wife of first concern was experiencing because i have person i lived with who the EXACT same like her husband, my father. I'm living with him in my lifetime and i got stressed and hurtful almost everyday. And it's our lifetime family concern. I could barely get through the first concern w/o pausing every other minute to cool down. There has been some shitty people on this show, but this guy takes the cake. I've been in that situation not only as the child, but as the victim as well and that is domestic abuse. I'm sure what we saw was only scratching the surface of everything that was really going on. They need to divorce ASAP. I know divorce is never easy, but it will be better for the wife and the child in the long run.

This is what I've been thinking the whole time during the second concern.. I could actually empathize with the daughter.. like.. the mum wanted to become an actress and her then boyfriend didn't like it. But it was her who chose love over her ambition. She can't expect her daughters to payback for what she did because that was clearly her own choice. And I think the older daughter has so much pent up inside like neglection, lack of love and appreciation in her childhood. People should clearly understand that you can't expect your children to do whatever you want just because you raised them and stop using that as a bargaining chip. I think the daughter made a clear point that she is grateful for her mum for raising her. But I still think love and appreciation is all that matters. Hope they have solved their conflicts and are close now.

In the past, they would joke too much and sometimes fully shut down a concern, but now they know how to be more serious and address and (try to) fix the problem , while still being entertaining, which im proud of them for :)

This first concern is giving me flashbacks and anxiety. As I am watching this man bells are going off in my head and I've been thinking about everything he's doing and how he is and it kept bothering me and just now I put it all together and I had to pause the video to write this. He is a NARCISSIST. Classic. A devil to his wife and an angel to the world. No empathy, no sense of compassion, very manipulative and condescending. Doesn't see anything wrong with himself.
