The claim from Skoda is: Simply clever. The cars have tons of small details that make life easier like the ice scraper or the plastic clip on the front window to hold the parking ticket or the door LEDs turning red when you open the door, or the fact that it is very inconvenient to open the door with the door nearest hand, making you turn your body towards the door and hence having a better view of incoming cars/bikes before opening the door. But although it has lots of clever quirks it is not my cup of tea. 🤷‍♂️

Its actually safer not to use the hand nearest the door to open it. Reaching over with your other hand forces you to twist your body giving you the perfect posture to look over your shoulder to check to traffic. Its called the Ducth Reach method. I have the Enyaq with the 60 battery and I'm very happy with it.

Thanks for the video Kyle. Welcome back to Germany. We own the enyaq IV60 for over a year now and we are very happy with it. The best family EV for people that do not need crazy zero to 60 times. Very comfortable and the best trunk available. Yes, not the fastest charging EV but very good efficiency. Turning circle is phantastic. Cheaper than the ID 4 as you buy the car at the dealer and not directly from the manufacturer. We have ordered the next one already as delivery times are extremely long. Enjoy Germany.

Those VAG cars don’t use the friction brakes until the regen is not enough. So you can use the brake pedal like in a normal car and not worry about B-mode or play with pedals.

Regarding the better top speed response of the iX3: BMWs newer EV drivetrains use externally excited motors so they have control of the magnetic field of the rotor in addition to the stator compared to using magnets or a asynchronous motor where you can only control the stator field

I've seen a few reviews on the Enyaq . . . as a fan of some of the pre VW Skoda's, I love the brand and much prefer the looks of the Enyaq to the ID.4. The body is quite a bit different, with an extra 3 or 4 inches in length and an inch in width. (not my first Enyaq video ;) ) Skoda really isn't a lesser brand. Skoda is a company that has made auto's for nearly a century and in some areas is a favorite brand. And I much prefer Skoda styling, which has separated itself nice from VW into a sort of 'Mazda' niche there . . . a little sporty with a step-up interior. p.s.: You are in Germany, so the 'J' is pronounced a but like a 'Y'', so, Johan would be 'yo-han'.

Stricter environmental regulations and gas is even more expensive there. 99% of electric vehicles coming out of Europe are also already established brands. We have a couple different startups here lucid, Rivian and Tesla use to be but they are so popular now they are completely mainstream almost a monopoly for electric vehicles in the USA. Not to mention Tesla was 10 years ahead of everybody else here so majority of our stations are Tesla stations, sure we had vehicles like the Nissan Leaf and Chevy volt but they were very niche products that didn’t sell in any recorded breaking numbers. I barely see leafs now 🤣😩

Welcome to Germany. Have fun! I see a red Enyaq every day when I drive to work but it has a black front grill and looks even better compared to the one in the video. This clear front grill they call "crystal face" by the way :)

A very good test of the car. I just went all electric, with an enaq and an id3. Am happy with the cars and will never return to the gas car. I never use park, I brake the car down to zero and open the door then the car goes into park by itself.

Great to see you in Germany and for you to get the chance to test some cars you usually don't get. Skoda is usually considered the "lesser" to the Volkswagen brand. The cars are always on the same platform, but usually cheaper. The Enyaq was actually out before the ID4 and I like the design much better than the ID4. Remember that is Germany we get about 10k Euro back from the government + whatever discount you can negotiate with the dealer. Friends got 12k off total on that model and then the price is OK at least. Enjoy your stay and looking forward to more videos.

Enyaq parking brake is automatic. Turns on itself when you turn ignition off and turns off when you select D or B on transmission

The Enyaq is about 10 cm longer than the ID.4 and therefore the trunk is larger. And you can order it with a 230V 150W outlet at the back seats.

@@frankcolon7528 Frank,I've heard the Chevy Bolt EUV is a great option, it rides a bit higher than a sedan, more like a crossover and it may be easier getting in and out of. Also good value if you don't do a lot of long road trips and need to fast charge quickly

You may want to research and order a vehicle on line rather than go through a dealer,I believe the EUV price is lower for the 2023 model which should be available in a few months

No. It’s Enyaq iV 80x Sportline. The x tells you it’s 4WD. The Skoda Enyaq iV VRS is the VW ID4 GTX equivalent.

No need to activate the parking break. You can just open the door and exit.

Being Czech, Škoda was my natural patriotic choice. I planned to pick up the Enyaq in the Laurin&Klement trim. Went to a showroom to try it … aaand it’s a no go for me. I’m at the tall end of the human spectrum, and the stupidly thick central console limits my right knee space too much. To make matters worse, the dashboard protrudes like an overbite in the middle and meets the central console at its widest spot. I simply couldn’t set up my seating position so that I would have enough comfort. Such a regrettable, stupid little detail decided my purchase. I ordered the ID.4 instead and I’ll be picking it up next week. It’s not as nice as the Enyaq, it has a significantly lesser quality interior, it has worse drag coefficient, etc. etc., but I can sit in it comfortably. Škoda! (only fellow Czechs will understand this pun).

Totally wrong. The name is derived from the Irish name 'Enya' which means 'source of life' and Skoda adds a 'Q' at the end to identify the car as an SUV

Hi mate just subscribed from the UK and loving your car reviews..I'm still driving a 2019 B class 2.0 ltr diesel Merc which I love but have test drove a Tesla model 3 std range, .id3 and Kia e Niro which were all great..I'm still on the fence with what to do in the future.. 👍
