Hello Kitty Island Adventure is out now on Nintendo Switch and PC and it's already capturing the eye of Animal Crossing and cozy game fans. But is it worth purchasing? Here are my thoughts and overall review.

I am really loving this game and would totally recommend it! From what I hear, time travelling really can break your game! The time it resets depends on your timezone. I think it's midnight or 1AM for me. There IS an item (I can't remember off the top of my brain) that resets the resource spans for the day (and you might get 1 as a login bonus every week??? I can't remember...and I got the deluxe, so I have some from that). There's also a character that you can unlock that will gather a single type of resource for you every day...and I just learned that if you level up the characters enough, they will look for resources for you, too!

It's pretty good. It focuses more on exploring and puzzles than decorating, so keep that in mind.

You decorate your visitor cabins for your villagers friends and family! There's no external decorating like paths and items outside but there is a lot of decorating for those visitors if you really want to dedicate time to it. Deluxe helps out a lot with that since they give a LOT and I mean a LOT of legacy furniture to start out with once you finish the deluxe bundle quest.

As someone who absolutely LOVES Animal Crossing and Hello Kitty, this sounds like a perfect game for me! I've been wanting to get this game for myself, but I'm waiting for the physical version to release. I really like your take on this game! Makes me even more excited for it! Time Travel will mess with your game save and should be avoided, NintenTalk had to restart 😄

I currently have 75 hrs logged, and I have the deluxe version. The deluxe version is worth it imo. I have it on steam and it runs smoothly. I hope with switch 2 the game will run better for those on switch because it is a really beautiful game on the proper hardware. The days refresh midnight US MTN time. With the deluxe version you get 300+ crafting supplies, decorations, furniture and clothing. Along with friendship bouquets and island refresh bouquets that address your upset about not being able to get more resources - granted it is a temporary fix so you'd want to use them wisely. You also start the game with all main areas unlocked after you open the island gate so you already have a jump on that for more resources. Time traveling will break your game in the sense that it'll take away your multiplayer option. Early game may seem cumbersome and short lived but I assure you - there is a lot in store. This is an 8gb game, but, without getting spoilery there are at least 3 other "map" areas that you will unlock eventually that are large with new resources and mechanics. And a lot of post story content that is not event based. I really do love this game, I could really go on and on about the game. There are some issues I have but really they're inconveniences, but imo they're just a lot of early game inconveniences that resolve themselves the further you get into the game, so it's just progression based. I do feel some quests are very overly simplified. Talk here and talk to someone over there. 2 minute quests. And, admittedly, there are quests that force you to do it multiple days. Not the baking or potion ones but when you unlock the next big area you talk to chococat and he basically goes "oh that's cool. We'll check it out tomorrow" and you're locked out of progressing in the area and then to progress further in there you have to do a quest with my Melody and then you have to check in day by day to unlock the next level but by watering the plant it only grows a little each day, so you don't unlock that same day either and have to wait days for that too which was... frustrating since I'm on day 2 with no progression in this area while seeing items I so desperately want just out of reach lol. But I digress... imo the game is worth it, but surprisingly I think the deluxe is worth it more than the base game. I think if it was dropped down $20-$30 for base game and $40 for deluxe it'd be more ideal, especially since you do get all the deluxe items early on and then it's the same game as everyone else. I'm not sure if the items from the deluxe will be recirculated so that may give some leverage to deluxe over base but meh.

This has become one of my biggest comfort games alongside New Leaf and Harvest Moon: Back to Nature. If you need more resources after you've collected everything, you can use an item called an Island Bouquet and it will regenerate everything on the island. Depending on what you need, there's also mini games you can play to earn some resources. The wiki for the game is super useful.

Im absolutely loving the heck out of this game! I admit i did buy the deluxe edition cuz i wanted to get the most I could quicker, but its really not necessary if youre chill about collecting stuff, since you can eventually get everything with time and grind. I admit my only issue with the game is just waiting a whole day after finishing my daily quests, gifts, and collecting. I never cared to time travel in acnh, but this game is just so chill and fun that it makes me sad to be forced to stop and wait till the next day to continue. Definitely wont be attempting to time travel tho since Ive seen plenty warnings and results and I woudnt want to screw up my savefile just cuz im impatient lol. But yeah overall great cozy and addicting game!

LOVE this game so far & love that you're playing it! I will make a note - the worst part so far has been the multiplayer. You can only play with one friend at a time & it kept crashing on us after only a few minutes of play. Really wish they had as strong of a multiplayer as ACNH. But otherwise such a wonderful and charming game - I hope future Animal Crossing games take a few notes from this one. :)

One thing that is really frustrating when it comes to decorating is that you can't put smaller items on tables. So I'd you have to use food then it goes on the floor! I understand this for the original Apple release, but they should have changed that along with the time limitation with resources. I will say that part of the reason the game is so expensive is that there aren't any micro transactions. On that note, my complaint about the cost with the deluxe (which I got) is that you either buy one or the other 😒 you can't purchase that deluxe add-ons later. Overall, I am really enjoying the game & and I recommend it if you enjoy cozy games like Animal Crossing.

Got to agree on the price point and from others who mentioned the tedium between quests. But it all depends on mood while playing. For instance I’m getting over the flu and got frustrated when I was playing recently. So I turned it off and started AC to relax. Don’t be sick and cranky playing this game. But! I do like it!

Bob's gang On the surface it looked like something I would enjoy. However after an in-depth review from other players on other social media platforms I decided not to get it. One of the major complaints is you have to wait an entire year if you miss a seasonal item or event.

My only complaints are mostly player customization. I know it's hard to implement more species but I'd like to play as a bear and also selecting our own combination of colors instead of just picking a palette. other than that i find the game cute, a bit simple but fun none the less.

i was interested in the game, then i started reading the reviews and thats what turned me off. People were say the game is great and relaxing at first, then after a couple hours gameplay, u cant really progress unless u raise your friendship level with certain islanders on there. Others said it almost because like a daily chore to keep doing things because they couldnt progress unless they did and thats what turned them off

How is it for save file? Like for 2 people, can we both collect things/ do leveling up seperatly or is it collaborative one like collecting for museum on ACNH. Just need to know if it's one I leave for my kiddo, or one I can play too.... cause I definitlty filled our museum on ACNH without realiseing my kiddo wouldn't be able to do it also. (My most hated thing on ACNH)

For me, the deluxe edition is sooo worth it.. you are given a two flowers a week to give more gifts to one character and then one for all the friends and one that resets resources. It’s really fair. I think people that want to power through will be upset because you can’t do that. There are so many biomes we haven’t even found yet and they have lots of events and are always updating. The devs in animal crossing deserted us. Sunblink isn’t. This game is only like animal crossing a tiny bit. There’s a story here you have so much more. Thanks for your review. 💜🐰🩷
