The description is for a different song. "Hello, Mary Lou" was written by singer Gene Pitney. It was first recorded by Johnny Duncan in 1960. Ricky Nelson recorded it, in 1961.

Pastor Doyle's singing talent was more as an Elvis impersonator, which he was actually quite good at if you watch enough of these 24K Gold Music videos. Some covers like this one were a bit more mediocre. With a bit of effort, obituaries can be found online under his given name of Loren D. (Doyle) Armstrong
