That's a lot of assumptions there bud. Maybe he has a pet bear in the basement. Also windows aren't that expensive to repair, but letting the neighborhood nuisance child to keep breaking into your house can get very expensive. The kid sneaking in would be jailed.

The worse part is what the plot of the game is nowadays. The neighbor in the first version hid a portal or something in that way. Now it’s just shadow Figur and dead children... it’s just boring. Tiny build overdone it sadly. Its not the same anymore.

​@@mentelgen3274 the plot is excellent. the story behind the entire game is grounded in tragic and loss, it's realistic, sad and relatable and it doesn't need portals or any such nonsense to convey the emotions of all the characters in the game who tell you their story without telling you anything, letting their life experience be your experience of the game.

0:32 if you listen carefully, you can hear the neighbor say, "Son of a Jesus F###!" (TURN UP VOLUME) This is actually an unused game audio, in this Prototype build. Initially, there was more unused dialogue of him saying other explicit words in the Prototype build of this game when you make the neighbor angry in certain situations. Later on, the people who worked on Hello Neighbor decided to rip out the Neighbor's explicit dialogues from the game before the Pre-Alpha version of Hello Neighbor came out to become a little bit more appealing to younger audiences.

honestly it's just on par with most scary movies but feels more intense because of the fact that it is interactive and we know that it is a normal person playing(to an extent) and not an actor. also throw in the bright cartoony graphics and it feels even more sinister. I think this is a welcome addition to horror genre.

The person in the yellow car is the protagonist you're playing as now, and the player in the trailer, is probably the guy we'll find trapped in the basement in the full game? So the actions from this trailer were done in the mean while when you were moving in your new house, you found out your neighbour is hiding something creepy, and you want to find it out. :P

I really like it when the villain in a game has access to all the same powers the player does. Really forces the player to adapt when they can't just pull some bullshit by being the only person in world thinks to jump through windows or use diversions. Lol, this had me on edge the whole time. It really taps into that fear of getting caught. And I've always had a strange fear of someone hiding in my house while I'm home alone. Not sure if I'd play it because I don't like feeling so stressed for hours on end, but this looks like a pretty cool concept. I just hope it doesn't inspire more breaking and entering cases.

Going off what was written on the main page, it does seem a bit strange as to why The Neighbor wouldn't just kill the player but rather throw the player in a different part of the house should the secret he is hiding in his basement be something that could ruin him. Still though, I can't wait to see the full game when it comes out and how players will cope with a neighbor that learns from all of your moves.

I'm completely head conanning this but from the first few scenes it looks like we are seeing from the perspective of someone who is already in the mans custody. it almost felt like the first few shots were from someone who was kidnapped. then we switched to the perspective of the person out side trowing the tomato. I think second person might be sneaking in to try and find the first person. first person could be a sibling or possibly SO.

When I first heard about this game, I thought it would be the type of game that had multiple endings where the neighbour has a different backstory in each one - like one where he murdered his wife and her lover, or one where he was an immortal suicidal clown - so I was surprised when I actually watched some gameplay. Yes, you can throw a tomato at the window, but you probably have to pay $5 a month to have access to the inside of the neighbor's house, as well as $2 for each tool you want to use. And if you sign up for a $40 season pass, you'll get different neighborhoods to play in, as well as a Chewbacca skin.
