So I've lived in fear of the business world my entire life and I decided last Summer to try and face all my anxieties and traumas. You never know if your fears are valid until you face, right? Well, I threw myself at it with eyes closed and I had as many panic attacks and intrusive thoughts as I thought I would. But maybe things would get better? And they did in a way, I was meeting deadlines and sometimes would get small compliments, I felt like I was finally a useful person to society. But suddenly it ended. I was told I wasn't needed and that the economy was good so I shouldn't worry. That was the moment I realized I hadn't conquered my anxieties but had instead been just pushing them down in order to "just make it through the next day" and "someday I'll be good at this". I'd been fooling myself and now I was using all my working paychecks to just pay for therapy that work gave me. Just a zero sum game ironically haha. I wanted to share my story with everyone even if it's a sad and slightly pathetic one because I think it's important to talk about struggles. I'm not an idol or living a perfect life, I'm crawling through mud and fighting myself every day. But I'm not going to give up. I'm going to find my own path. It won't look like anyone else's but I'm going to find a place that allows me to live and not just survive. I hope you do too.

This song dropped at a crazy perfect time - I relate to your struggle with adulthood so much. I had my first full time job that was very stressful and traumatizing and now I keep getting rejected from grad school which scares me because being a student is apparently all I'm good at. Your cover of this song from a few years ago helped me a lot while going through school and trying to figure out what I wanna do. Now a year after finishing school I finally have somewhat of a plan of what I want and got accepted for my first choice job yesterday. I admit, I still would rather be an artist, but as long as art can’t pay my bills I think the job I got accepted for is the best choice. That you uploaded this today of all days is just the sign I needed, that what I’m doing isn’t a bad thing and can still bring my closer to being an artist. So thank you Juby.

I don't really like leaving comment but your song and message really stood out to me. Growing up, everyone I knew told me I'm smart and really hard working, but I've always been scared since it feels like everyone at my job seems so much smarter than me. And because of that I've been living my whole life wondering if I'm really good enough and if I'm really smart or if I'm just really good at fooling everyone into thinking I'm competent. I honestly still don't know, but I do knew that you're not alone and whenever I listen to you sing these songs it gives me the strength to keep pushing and moving forward since I know I'm not alone in this. i know the meaning of the song is different from my situation, but it makes me tear up each time i hear it. i've been putting in application after application, but i never hear back from anyone. i'm going to be twenty this year and i'm still struggling to find a job. i'm so exhausted, and i think it's starting to lead me into a state of depression. i thought i finally found a place i'd like, a paint store. i'm an artsy person so i was excited, but then i'm told after my interview that 150+ people also applied. so much for that.

It's okay if you sang this one for yourself. It's a beautiful cover, nevertheless. Honestly, I always wondered if work really will 'fix' my feelings of contempt towards myself. While others can get a job while doing school, I went to college without a job and now I feel permanently behind everyone because I never grew up studying with others about my major nor having experience. I still don't even feel like I can get a job myself... because others have said that I can't, because I'm not skilled. I'm still not sure about what I want to be, nor do I think I'm living, but I hope that you and many others can live.

I feel like this but only in a slightly different way. I took a gap year before uni and then covid hit and my mom got her cancer diagnosis at the same time. In a month my plans for the future shattered. No way was a going to leave to college when my mama was so vulnerable. No way. And then time went on and I was less afraid and excited for the new term and to apply but then things got worse again. Like yeah, the chance of my mother getting sick bc of me was pretty low now due to being vaxxed but still... And now it's been 2 1/2 years. I'm half a degree behind all of my friends and peers. I know I'll go soon. And I'm still excited. But I'll forever be doubting myself because I got dealt some shitty circumstances. Also ilu, you're doing Amazing and I know that you're so strong and will overcome all that life throws in your way Juby ❤️
