It definitely gets heavy when full! I don’t think I’ve ever carried it full to the brim. I wouldn’t be able to handle it! 😂

Btw, you are very right about Birkin & customs:) whenever I carried Birkin, even kind of hidden in my other shoulder bag, they stopped and searched everything I carry.

Thank you so much Hanna for doing this video. I was on the fence about getting a Birkin but I feel it’s more of a tote rather than a purse. Kinda like the deauville or I would use my woc or another small purse. Would you say your deauville is your main travel bag/tote? How is it holding up with weather?

I’m so glad you enjoyed the video! I use my Deauville around the city when I need to carry a bit more or as well as for travel. It’s definitely not reserved as a travel tote exclusively. As for wear, it seems to be holding up quite well but I haven’t gotten it wet in the rain ever. It’s fabric so I feel like it would get stinky if it got wet and didn’t dry properly. 🙈 😂

Thanks for the video! Side question, do you feel comfortable traveling with the chanel deauville ? I have the beige color one😅, so that worries me, plus how it’s an open tote. I prefer zipper but I’m just curious on your thoughts

I do! I know it only has that one magnetic closure but I feel it sits pretty close to the body when worn on the shoulder and it’s deep so my items sit pretty snugly inside the bag, especially with an organizer insert. I’ve brought it with me on the plane and all over BUT I probably wouldn’t take it to a super crowded area where I will be distracted. Hope that helps!

With the Deauville totes, I believe each style/fabric is seasonal so it’s not like an all year round offering.

It’s not raffia, it’s called “mixed fibers” and it has a softer, less scratchy feel than raffia. Hope this helps!
