As I suspected the flap on this wallet gets annoying to use after a while, So I switched to the Note Sleeve instead, which works great: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aIKYi2SciJ2fa7M

Get a money clip with a card holder and a separate tiny coin pouch. Perfect combo. I used to be so against minimalist wallets. But after I started carrying a coin pouch separately, they grew on me. Plus, with the coin pouch separately, you are more inclined to use the coins first because you'll feel the weight if they accumulate and thus you're reminded to spend them or to change enough of them to bills. Generic leather ones would do at a fraction of the cost and sourced locally so shipping is free. If you have a leather shop(boot or shoemaking shop in some areas), you can even buy a piece of leather and just pay them for the labor and hardware (money clip).

Why does a wallet cost so much. I won't have anything to put in it after I buy it.
@abdulcader846 жыл бұрын
Because they paid huge salary for Design Engineer. But this wallet actual price is 15-20$, 400% profit per piece!!!!
@swabby4297 жыл бұрын
The size and design of this wallet appear to be much more practical and useful than most I've seen lately. The tiny credit card size wallets that are dinky just for the sake of being ultra small do not suit my everyday needs at all. My only quibble with this wallet is the price.

For anyone interested in a wallet capable of holding coins, check out the Herschel Walt wallet on Amazon. They have it in both the canvas and leather material, with the leather material costing a bit more. The wallet can hold a few cards and cash but most importantly, has a coin pouch that can carry a few more coins than the wallet in this video. Oh, it's also cheaper.
@HelloDavid8 жыл бұрын
Interesting option. I guess if you don't mind zippers that would work.

I got a handmade in New York leather wallet with more compartments, two separate currency holders, and a front facing transparent ID holder with hidden back compartment AND my initials engraved for $40 at Joseph Hannah Leather in NYC. By the way, every wallet in Japan has a coin holder, and are a lot cheaper and have NFC blocking and probably better craftsmanship.

I own this wallet (same colour btw) for the past 9 months and I must say that I'm not that happy with it. The materials and craftmanship is nice but the latch system is a pain. I'm having constant problems with that stupid latch so I end up having to use both hands AND keep my eyes on the thing in order to get it closed. The coin pouch is also not practical if you use coins frequently as you have to take all the coins out in order to see what type of coins you have. So to sum it up: Expensive wallet with good materials but not that practical. NOT RECOMMENDED!!!
@HelloDavid8 жыл бұрын
I agree entirely. I've recently switched over to the Bellroy Note Sleeve and it does everything better. The latch is pretty annoying after a while and was the main reason for the change.

I'm using an OCD RFID wallet (4 x 2.7" x 0.5" D) which I got for US$43 (+ a lot for international shipping..). I wanted something slim like you too and whilst it can hold 4 cards & some cash its terrible for receipts and coins which has made me use a coin jar at home so I typically never travel with coins now Quite satisfied with it although I do occasionally think about the Bellroys like their Hide & Seek model but that lacks a proper coin department too. The benefit of having a slim wallet like the OCD is that you'll barely feel its presence whilst walking around, something that would normally make me think twice about taking it with me just in case
@HelloDavid8 жыл бұрын
+backslashio Cool wallet! I was looking for something like that too when I want to go super light weight. I use a basic money clip right now for coinless days but it's not super functional or comfortable. Although I try to avoid going that path because my coin jar keeps growing. lol Have you ever looked at the Bellroy Note Sleeve? I'm was just browsing different model once you mentioned the hide & seek. It seems to hold a couple coins. Ohh. This is a dark and dangerous path I'm going down. Soon I won't need a wallet since I'll have no more money. haha
@backslashio8 жыл бұрын
I have seen the Note sleeve but the Hide & Seek appealed to me more although I am concerned about RFID protection which led me to the OCD and its super easy to take out 3/4 cards by simply using my thumb and sliding it upwards. Also the open window on the back allows my public transport card to be easily scanned without opening up my entire wallet for everyone to see Haha & yeah soon you'll need a coin purse & nothing else from the leftover change of expensive wallets :P
@InternationalBigshot3 жыл бұрын
No matter how well a wallet is designed carrying coins in it is a non-starter for me. It's just too much hassle dealing with them when you need them. Carry coins in your pocket and you're much more likely to use them.
@mikequasniac65388 жыл бұрын
$100 for a wallet? That's pricey as hell! If anyone's looking for a great thin wallet that'll hold all your stuff, go with the BIG SKINNY wallet. At $25, I got 1 of those front-pocket types with the 2 rounded edges. It uses that parachute material that is very strong. I highly recommend them.

Damn i´m looking for a slim bifold wallet with 2 outside id windows ( for actual ID, and public transport card), small Bill compartment inside with 3 card slots left and a small coinpocket inside to hold some change .Would be ideal for a Partynights where u have to show id and transport card often, but i can´t find it or something comparable

Then you should have a look for the SlimFold wallet, and they have coin wallet too. It much thinner than this and also half prise of this.

@bland98764 жыл бұрын
I have no idea if it is true or not but I have heard that the penny costs more to produce than it is worth so people want to get rid of it I don't know if it would be cheaper to just make paper money that is like half the size of the normal money and counts as pennies nickels dimes and quarters half dollars they obviously wouldn't need to make dollar notes to replace the dollar coins though because they already have dollar notes
@bryanreilly12908 жыл бұрын
I would definitely give it a go however 100 bucks for it sounds a bit excessive - i would only have coins left in the darn thing lol

This wallet is wrong, Bellroy made a mistake with the design of this one, the way to go is with the All Conditions Line, even the very small, the card pocket, the elements pocket and the all conditions pocket carry coins a lot better
@Mobin928 жыл бұрын
I don't see the advantage of this. I can put cards and cash in any wallet with a regular coin pouch. This one just looks like an over styled walled with a crippled coin pouch.
@HelloDavid8 жыл бұрын
The main advantage is just how professional the wallet still looks even with a coin pouch. Most solutions I've seen that do similar don't look as nice in my opinion. but looks are subjective and may not be as important to some.
@Mobin928 жыл бұрын
I don't know, mine looks similar to that just with a small zipper instead of one card slot.

why can't you just put the coins in a pocket?
@Xartab8 жыл бұрын
Because there's the risk to lose it if you store and retrieve things frequently from your pockets, and personally I like to have all the money I want to carry around in one place, that's easier to take and select from when I need coins or when I arrive at home and want to unload my pockets.
