As a Hannoveranian I'm happy that you enjoyed it that much. Especially, cause it's not really known as a touristic city. Hope to see you again :)

hi, i know this comment is from ages but i'm actually going to Hannover on september, did you have any recommend site to visit or is enough with the places on this video?
@errieck4212 Жыл бұрын
@@knowpudin good morning, I'm glad to hear that! Following the red line as shown in the video is a great idea, would recommend that too. What's also pretty awesome and what I would highly recommend is the elevator on top of the new city hall (Neues Rathaus). You have the most awesome view you can get over Hannover from there. If you want to stroll around in multiple bars and pubs I would recommend the "Nordstadt", around the Christuskirche (Christ Church). It is one of the places the university students love to visit and a very diverse place. If you're there try visiting the Herrenhäuser Gärten or even more recommended the Berggarten if you like to stroll around parks. Could also recommend some restaurants if you're interested :)

I visited Hannover recently for work (from America), and this was my first time to Europe. I knew I would enjoy it, but I didn’t expect to enjoy it nearly as much as I did!! An absolutely beautiful city, and I can’t wait to go back!!
@Jan-wp6ym Жыл бұрын
wow, I´m so glad you enjoyed your stay! while I really like Hanover as a resident, I always thought the city might be somewhat dull for tourists. it´s one of the best cities to live in (at least in my opinion) but we lack those epic tourist destinations - most of the city seems a little mediocre. may I ask which places you liked during your trip? hope you´ll come back and have another great stay :)
@gkitchings13 Жыл бұрын
@@Jan-wp6ym I’m not super big on the big touristy things actually, I just enjoyed the atmosphere and how comfortable I was immediately! I am from the southeastern part of the US so we don’t have a ton going on here, so I tend to enjoy the little things when I go somewhere. Although that being said I really appreciated the history there, like the Marktkirche and Neues Rathaus! And I was lucky enough to be in town to watch Hannover 96 play Magdeburg which was my first professional match of any sport to go to, and it was one of the coolest things I’ve ever experienced!
@Jan-wp6ym Жыл бұрын
@@gkitchings13 thank you for sharing your experience! I guess sometimes you´ll end up with a much more interesting impression of the place one visits when not paying too much attention to the big tourist attractions and rather focus on the stuff the locals do - like going to a soccer match ;) I hope you´ll have a great time when you visit us again

Happily living here for over 8 years now, I am afraid you, like most of the tourists, missed going to Linden and stayed in the center most of the time. At least this is what the video suggests. A lot of people think of hannover as being very ugly and like there is not much going on to see. Linden is a part of hannover only 10 minutes away from the main station by tram and it is like a total different world for me. I rarely ever go to the city because everything is here. Culture & nightlife is very present for a long time now due to a reputation for artists and students alike + there is parks, rivers, different architecture everywhere. You could fill a full week easily only visiting new interesting & beautiful places every day by foot, not more than 15-20 minutes to walk 😎👍🏼 as you can see i really fell in love with this place, i highly recommend coming here if anyone wants to visit hannover - especially in summer its amazing 🤩 If someone wants a guided tour by a local for free hit me up. I always find great pleasure showing this to outside people!

I'm from Hannover and I agree that it is totally underrated inside Germany! we have the most amazing parks and every neighborhood is so unique. You didn't visit Linden, which has mini-Berlin vibes, especially Kreutzberg and Friedrichshein. It's multiculti here and most university students live here I'd say. Whats also great about Hannover is its surrounding. In the near south there are already smaller mountains like the Deister and a bit more south is the Harz with its mythological legends about witches for larger backpacking and winter sports . really near to the west lies the biggest lake in northern germany, the steinhuder meer, one of the best kite and wind surfing spots for beginners in germany.and the region around hannover is great for biking. Hannover is so central that you can get to cologne, hamburg, berlin, frankfurt for day trips in around 2-3 hours.

@@kb9023 Die Müritz befindet sich in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, also im Norden. Nordosten wäre genauer, aber Norden ist nicht falsch. Some dining tips from a local without bigger chains (as shown in the video sometimes): Asian: Vietal-Kitchen, Codo Street Kitchen, Tokio Sushi (Not Kyoto (!)) In the main station - great sushi but not so great surrounding tbh), Sushi-Do, Tru-Story European food: Reimanns Eck, 11A, Max Walloschke, Gaststätte Kaiser, Ständige Vertretung, Prager Hof, Högers 1910. Burger: Lindenblatt Burger, Kuhnstwerk Breakfast: Mezzo, Cafe Pera, Cafe Conrad, Cafe Donnerlittjen, liebes Cafe, Cafe Lulu Of course: tastes are different and this list isnt complete 😌 And very nice video of hannover🎉

If you ever return to Hanover, here are a few tips from a semi local nerd (I travel to Hanover to work and actually live around 1 hour away from the city): - Hanover has some insanely good boba stores, favorite so far is TeaMotion in the Ernst-August Galerie, but Hamy's in the Food court by the subway close to the Train station as well as Comebuy are good too. - There's definitely a lot of nerd stuff around with Elbenwald (Again Ernst-August Galerie), Comix and a lot more. Generally a good point to get stuff you wouldn't get somewhere else like certain manga, merch, ect. - As for food.... There's like a tons of different stores that are delicious, just try yourself through honestly Cheers!
