I think the sonic movie franchise is the definition of getting the right people for the right job because the team that worked on, sonic one to three all I can just say they did an incredible job and I really look forward to sonic four. I wish other Studios got the right people for the right job, but sometimes that’s not how life works.

Shadow is a clone but not of Sonic(Whom he`s 50 years older than) but of the alien tyrant Black Doom who becomes his archnemesis and an unknown other alien hedgehog who may be a common ancestor of Sonic and Shadow, but the games have never revealed much more than that and likely never will. Also, in the Games Shadow and Black Doom are the only Mobians confirmed to be of extraterrestrial origin, whilst in the Live Action Films all Mobians are extraterrestrials.

at the time of commenting, Jim hasn't been confirmed for Sonic 4. he's stated that he's open to the idea. but it would be a perfect ending for him as a villain in the movies if they stopped here with him. also i know the studio would find a good explanation to keep him for the 4th if they choose that. there's a deleted scene where Stone found Ivo on the brink and cared for him since all his bones were broken one more side note, Fowler has stated he's wanting to make several sequels. as long as they're done right (unlike most the fast & furious sequels) they could all be amazing movies and one of the most successful movie franchises ever

There was suppose to be a scene during the fight between super sonic and shadow where they accidentally travel to the future where you see Eggman take over the world with metal sonic by his side. So those metal sonics are likely from the future and Amy too

The moon getting hit did happen but also the way they did it in the movie comes across as a reference to the very popular SA2 Dark Story Dub by Snapcube where the famous Eggman pissing on the moon meme came from. The rings that Shadow removed from his arms are his inhibitor rings which holds back the chaos energy within him so when taken off, he’s basically unstoppable and is arguably stronger than sonic. However it wears him out very quick because he literally overflows with power to where he could flat out die (look up the Sonic 06 Shadow story ending to see it in action). Also Shadows backstory in this movie was more faithful than expected because he actually grew up on the space colony arc which had the eclipse canon for particular reason (iykyk) and Maria was killed however in the games it was shown to be intentional vs an accident. Also Sonic had inspiration off of Dragon Ball such as the seven chaos emeralds and seven Dragon balls. Super Saiyan looks exactly like supersonic and it was indeed intended that way. Also what Shadow shot at the Robots around 34:21 was the first ever live action Chaos Spears which as far as I know only he can do and is also (if I am correct) was introduced in the first ever shadow the hedgehog video game.

I only know Sonic from the cartoon in the early 2000s and even then I started watching halfway through the series and I remember a friend "explaining" to me Shadow was Sonic's older, grumpy brother who only shows up when he's needed and dissapears again afterward, so for twenty years I walked around with the false context that they arw brothers.
