La Union is known to be "The Surfing Capital of the North". Aside from its diverse and beautiful beaches, they have a lot of beautiful tourist spots too. La Union is one of the most diverse Provinces in the Philippines. It has coastal, lowland and high mountain ranges. So, La Union Province has almost 100 waterfalls, rice terraces, sea of clouds, caves, stone house, mini pyramid, lotus farm, crystal clear lagoons (immuki island), centennial tunnel, grape farm/picking, chinese temple, botanical garden, museums, light house, 400 year old Baluarte Watch Tower, historical churches since 1578, Pugad Adventure (zipline, atv ride, 8 random pools, mini zoo, kayak, body jumping etc.), Thunderbird La Union (Santorini of Asia) and a lot more. They have also the first ever Car Museum in SouthEast Asia located in Bauang, La Union called R Garage. San Fernando City is the Capital of La Union and also serves as Regional Center of Region 1/ Ilocos Region. The known surfing spot is located in San Juan, La Union just beside San Fernando City. Aside from known surfing area, San Juan has also a lot of local and international restos to offer. It's also the Party Hub and the Night Life of the North since you can see a lot of cafes, bars, night clubs along the beach and along the national highway. You can see lot of local Philippine Celebrities partying around La Union specially in San Fernando and San Juan area. Numerous cafes, bars, hotels in La Union are owned by known Filipino celebrities. La Union beaches are actually diverse. They have pebble beach, glass beach, gray and black sand, beige sand (golden brown/ yellow) and white sand beach. In San Juan surfing area they have gray and black sand beach. Usually biege sand and white sand beaches are found in the towns of Balaoan, Luna, Bacnotan and San Fernando City. I would usually go to the Baguio Public Market at six in the morning. During this time there are still some spots where one can park. There is also a parking area at Marbay. The entrance is opposite Triple A Supermarket. There would be less cars at the hilltop area. Then, you can roam around the market. I suggest you buy baguio vegetables at Hangar Market it is cheaper since it is where wholesalers go to aside from the Trading Post in La Trinidad where vegetable truckers from Manila buy wholesale. Block 4 public market which was burned last year mostly sell lowland vegetables that are from Pangasinan, Sablan and La Union. The only downside of Baguio Public Market is the fish area. It is too wet. I hope they can copy how other Asian fish market manage to sell without it being too wet and stink. I seldom buy fish and meat there. I would rather buy 'em at Supermarkets. 😊

Tupig is a fave food to eat when travelling. There are many different dried fish in La Union too. When in Baguio market go to the Hilltop area near where they sell freshly grind coffee because they sell veggies there at wholesale price though prices can increase during typhoons affecting the harvest. Baguio has many different camote(sweet potato) varieties. Look for the orange camote and the magic camote (white skin outside but when cooked it turns violet). They are the sweetest variety that I know. Also try the local corns esp the one from Taloy. You will enjoy them. 😊

I love "TUPIG". Thats is one of my favorite rice cakes. Tupig is a delicacy of the North. There's no Tupig in the South (Visayas or Mindanao). People from the North are very friendly and nice. I am glad that you are all in the Luzon Island already. La Union ( pronounce as La Ooon-yon) has a good beach. I have said it before in one of your vlogs, that Baguio is one of the best place to live in because of the weather and good place to study for the kids, as school there is topnotch too. (SLU, UP),. Also the mountains, the greeneries, the flowers, fruits and vegetables are always fresh and abundant. It is such a beautiful sight to see. And when you want a different vibe, you want a beach, just go down to La Union and enjoy the beach. I am happy that you and the whole family could experience this side of the Philippines. Philippines is a beautiful country. But the warmth of the people is what makes it more special. I am, and i am sure also, that the Filipino people are happy to share that happiness to you guys. To experience that this country could offer. Enjoy Baguio, La Union and the rest of the provinces here in the North!❤

You are closer now to ilocos region. If you visit ilocos you should checkout SAUD beach that is located in Ilocos Norte. SAUD beach is also known as the boracay of the north but with less crowds its more quiet and relaxed atmosphere. SAUD beach also has white sand and clear waters but if you visit it is advisable to bring your own foods that you want to eat because there's not much restaurants, cafes, convenient stores around. SAUD beach has a beautiful sunsets too just make to visit when its not raining so you can walk or seat by the beach and see the beautiful sunset in SAUD beach In Launion there's a lot of grape and dragon fruit farms and one of the famous surfing spot in the Philippines located in San Juan La Union with lots of hip restos and cafes and nice resorts close to the beach front.
