Eyy brother can you give me some tips on speaking Chinese so that i could improve my accent
@reeceb12593 күн бұрын
The best way to improve your accent in Mandarin aside from directly studying its phonological system (‘Standard Chinese phonology’ on Wikipedia) is to get an ear for the accent by listening to as much of the language as you can. It also helps to choose a particular regional accent to focus on acquiring (i.e. Běijīng, northeastern/東北, Taiwanese/southern, even dabbling in Sìchuān dialect like Hepsima) or actually find a specific public figure whose way of speaking you like to be your “accent role model” and try to imitate or shadow their speech while listening to publicly available audio or video of them.

@@DonHaka As if the CCP is even legitimately Marxist anyway? I'm sure you know what "with Chinese characteristics" really means. The last girl is *_lowkey_*_ based_ in that she's at least not a Han Chinese ethnonationalist, as she is earnestly studying Japanese.
@DonHaka2 күн бұрын
@@reeceb1259 You are absolutely right about the fact that the CPC isn't Marxist, and the "People's Republic of China" is very much capitalist. The CPC is communist in name only really and have probably heavily distorted marxism in their leaflets and books which they these youngsters read (I haven't had the chance to read those myself so I have no idea). I don't really get the part about Han Chinese ethnonationalism though, is that really prevalent in any way? Like, compared to Israeli ethnonationalism? This is the first I hear about it so I'd be grateful if you could guide me towards something educational on the matter.

@DonHaka2 күн бұрын
I am personally not a big fan of Mao, but this sentiment/idea of "Mao starved tens of millions of people" is 100% bourgeois propaganda. The Chinese government of the time (which Mao was the "captain" of) has it's fair share of blame for the things that went wrong, but 1. implying that the chinese government "starved people" is ahistorical and 2. cutting it down to it all being personally Mao's fault? That's just raw idealism.
