I believe the Chosen is a great missionary tool. No church has exclusive "ownership" of Christ. He would want us to love one another and be kind to everyone. Come unto Christ. Just come! He can help us work out the details later!

I'm an active Mormon and I CANNOT watch the chosen. Becauase it makes me sooo Mad that our current leaders are not like Jesus Christ or the apostles. They are much like the PHARISEES in the story. That is exactly what I wanted to say. Our religion encourages us to embrace all that is good, because goodness comes from God. I think each one of us that believes in Christ should focus more on our efforts to become true Christians than focusing on whether someone else is of our faith or not. Celebrate what we have in common. Don’t judge what is different.

Here's the entire 13th article, "13 We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul-We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. Isn’t just amazing how one show can bring so many people to Christ?!! To people who are wondering how I am on my journey as a Christian documenting my journey of becoming a Latter Day Saint since last year of May. This month, my bishop from the San Antonio West Stake announced that I was eligible to receive my Aaronic priesthood. This Sunday, I finally received my Aaronic priesthood and can now enter the temple with a temples recommendation card!

I love to watch The Chosen for many reasons. I was raised Catholic and converted to LDS years ago. My favorite thing about the series is how much I learn about Jesus and his disciples. You see, being raised Catholic I attended all my CCD classes, got confirmed as a teenager and not once was taught what I've learned from watching the show. Maybe it was because I was young and now that I'm older I'm more open to it, I don't know. All I can say is, I'm grateful for all of the people that have worked hard to bring us this beautiful series

When I watch the Chosen I feel like the portrayal of Jesus Christ completely aligns with my faith and has never caused me to question my understanding of Him or of the New Testament. LDS here. This show is Chosen to bring us all closer to Him. And it does. Added bonus - I love learning more about the Jewish background and the Old Testament references. What a blessing The Chosen is!

It is so nice to see interfaith dialogue happening now! I went to a school with over three hundred students and i was the only LDS. I was in a religious study class and i was the punching bag for protestants and they thought i was weird and that i was going to hell. Never had good experience with people in other faiths when they find out i was LDS. I even get criticized for being too nice. I love the choosing because it portraying Jesus how i have always imagined him to be. if we could have a time machine and go back he would be very similar to what the Chosen have done probably! ❤❤❤

What I love most about the Chosen is the human Jesus. I've never seen him portrayed as fully human ans fully divine simultaneously and I had a hard time imagining how that could work. All I had seen was him sort of floating on a cloud of holiness. The Chosen and Jonathan Roumie are finally giving me something I can actually believe. I can finally believe how he understands all of our challenges because he had to go through them as well. It’s not 'just' the suffering on the cross, it’s a life with hardships as well. Watching this show has strengthened my faith so much. And I love the interfaith component of it. I believe that’s how Jesus wants us to behave towards each other.

I'm LDS and I still remember watching the pilot The Shepherd and trying to persuade everyone I knew to watch it. Nobody knew it existed or cared. Then I discovered that Dallas is creating this new series and I was over the moon. Been a fan ever since! As an LDS, I'm drawn to The Chosen because.....JESUS. I'm kind of a fringe LDS, so, yeah. I love the Chosen series, and am thrilled as one who personally now identifies as a Charismatic, Evangelical, Born Again member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, that Brad Pelo was inspired to ask to utilize the Goshen property for this project. It is symbolic and emblematic of the brotherhood of Christians in furthering the life and ministry of our Savior. I find the portrayal of the Lord, and the characters as wonderful, enlightening, and entertaining. I work everyday with Evangelicals all over the country, and we are sharing in our common faith, and expanding our love and appreciation of saints of faith who are devoted. I have found the writing to be biblical, and enlightened regardless of the experience of the writers. Wonderful interview. Thank you very much for your cooperative and respectful conversation and perspectives.

It took me going through my second divorce to try a second time to watch The Chosen. I couldnt get past the scene of Mary's demonic possession the first time i tried watching it. I absolutely love The Chosen now. It has pointed me to Christ and He has used it to comfort me, show me how to follow him more closely and to focus more my efforts on my relationship with him. Ive offerred many prayers of thanks to God for directing and inspiring so many people to produce such a wonderful tool for glorifying God and drawing people to him. It also gives me an easy way to have conversations about Jesus with members of my family that have left the church and my children whose mom has left the church.

I’m glad I was raised in the generation that encouraged interfaith connections. I loved doing Bible study with my Christian friends in the mornings before school; I went to church with my friends several times; tried to go to a lot of different churches and study their faith and doctrines. I think it’s great to be able to understand other religions and I feel like my study of that has only helped me come closer to Christ and of my understanding of our doctrine as well!

Innerfaith collaberation was hinted at by Elder Anderson of the 12 Apostles in 2015 when he came to our stake. His concern was that we teach our children about Christ and expressed the concern many of the new generations were turning away from Christianity in general.

In one small town we lived in there were several churches. All but one were very much against The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The one that was not anti was at least cordial. They had a small congregation. Their pastor mentioned to our bishop that they were thinking of bricking in a planter and ramp out front. So, we all showed up to help. Probably about 75% of the work was done by our ward. On the other hand, there was another church that had a problem with their sound system. I had a friend in that church and I told him I would be happy to come over and take a look (the symptoms sounded like bad filter capacitors). Their pastor was totally against having a "Mormon" touch their system.

The writers of The Chosen create believable backstories for those persons known from the New Testament and for the kinds of persons with whom they would likely have interacted. The production is first rate with so much believable detail, e.g, in the background with the kind of ordinary activity, street and country scenes, home settings from rich to poor, it all makes it come to life and seem so very REAL. And most of all the writing and acting engages the mind to think more profoundly about the scriptures that I have studied for decades. Could many of the events portrayed really have happened in the way shown in The Chosen? We don't know . . . but they COULD have! The scriptures are not just words to live by, they are to be actively lived and breathed. And even though there are some things portrayed that are not true to scripture (place or wording) it prompts me to look in the New Testament and seek out commentaries that give me cause for even more inspiration.

The first 3 seasons of the Chosen show very much a Latter-day Saint depiction of Christ. Maybe this speaks to how much a lot of us as disciples have in common about Him. One moment we especially found relevance to our faith was when Jesus said “I am the law of Moses”. We believe in the pre-mortal Christ to be YHWH (Jehovah) of the Old Testament. We also believe Jesus to be the Son of God the Father, who is Jesus’s God and Father (see Hebrews 5:5 as just one of many verses).

At 37 minutes, talking about Christ being a man. Remember that when HE prayed in the garden of Gethsemane that HE prayed, Lord if it possible let this cup pass from me. Jesus’s flesh was saying I don’t wanna go through this. But HE obediently says Not my will but thy will be done. And we know the story but HE had fears as a man and thus understands our fears.

The LDS love the gospels and believe in the apostles and the other disciples as real people who followed Jesus as a real person who was also the Son of God. That is the story the Chosen tells. So of course we love the show. Remember our Tabernacle Choir Christmas shows. We join with other Christians in celebrating Christ's birth.

The issue I take with this conversation is grouping LDS so freely with Christian/Catholics. These are not simply “theological” differences, but significant differences with eternal consequences. Pastor Jeff mentioned that he doesn’t want to come across as a universalist, but this conversation is coming far too universalist/pro-unity for my comfort as a Christian.

Jesus certainly reached out to unbelievers and those who believed differently but he didn’t form collaborations with them. And just because things seem to fall almost perfectly into place doesn’t mean The Chosen is of God. I have such a heart for any who is an unbeliever but I sincerely do not believe that The Chosen is the Lord’s ordained means of reaching them. Nonetheless, I hold a charitable demeanor towards those who would disagree with my opinion and I appreciate this YT channel.

Hello there I have watched your channel a few times I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints and I appreciate a lot of the positive feedback you're giving us unlike other churches whom like to church bash we are don't really want to do that we think that's just not cool but that being said the chosen television show is very interesting me and my fellow brothers and sisters we all come to agree that we like it because it gives Jesus the savior and his disciples kind of a side of humanity I like the fact don't you look into the actor who's playing the savior how much compassion really is in those eyes much like how the Savior would and I actually like the tax collector guy Matthew I don't think he really was like that in the way of strangeness and weird but it gives him a very human quality that some may look up to and think wow he definitely deserves some compassion of love like the rest of us and the stories for the most part are quite biblical but there's a lot more added to it that is a lot less and more Hollywood like that's the one part I do not like play I am grateful that there are people out there who am I from other faiths who are willing to come together and to put this biblical adaptation of scripture to bring to life the Lord Jesus Christ and those of his disciples and the Sanhedrin and also all those high and lofty lawyers and of course the evil Romans and even the Sadducees because they are sad you see and they're only sad because they do not believe in Resurrection that there's basically no hope which makes me very sad

Different faiths have different answers to that. I think those who are converted to him will seek to follow him. Regardless of where it leads.

Why haven't you watched it yet??? It is about Christ and his life. Watching the Chosen has helped me to feel the Spirit and develop a personal relationship with Christ. Personalized the Bible.

I haven’t watched it, I don’t even know where TO watch it…or if I care. I believe in Jesus and God, but I don’t know if I’d watch a show about him. I’m inactive LDS but still believe a lot of the aspects of it, others I’m a bit confused or feel uncomfortable about.

I was LDS for 68 years. Four years ago I “stepped away “ to deal with my faith crisis. I love the Chosen! Everything about it. After watching the seasons 3 times, I began to further understand the nature of God. Thank you to all who worked in the Chosen. No criticism. ❤

I'm a believer that grew up in the lds bubble, I'm concerned about the way christ gets viewed so differently depending on the lenses that are worn. The historical messiah that suffered as God must be discussed and the doctrinal distinctions are important and can't be overlooked between these religious groups, how can that happen without offense.

In my experience, it can be done not when we focus on the historical messiah, but when we are guided by the living Jesus. Focusing not on a particular difference of opinion on fact, but on our love for Jesus himself. Offenses will come, of course, and Jesus can guide us to love each other regardless.

I'm a latter day saint and I actually don't like the show very much. Somtimes it's okay and others I'm cringing out of my mind. I haven't watched the new season so maybe it's improved?
