As someone who is neurodivergent I really, REALLY like that there's a sneaky way to tell what pet you're getting - I get super attached to objects by default, and one of the biggest things that pushes me away from blindboxes/blindbags is the idea of not being able to actually choose the one I want.

When inspecting the pets I realized this! You had mentioned that you think that they are very similarly referenced to molds, but if you look for the molded watermark on the pet. You'll see that they actually correspond with see original pets dates example like 2009, 2007. I haven't seen anybody mention this. But I found it quite intriguing. :)

My theory is that the new molds are heavily based on the old molds, but had to be remade either because Basic Fun doesn't have access to the original master molds, or because the original molds are gone/deteriorated (even industrial molds don't last forever, and it has been years since some of these molds were last used). This would explain why they have the dates of the original molds, but also slight differences from them.

@gayrurumon Yes, but it's not hard to make a new one. With all of the pre-existing pets, you just recast A new mold using a g2 lps. In looking at them side by side to their g2 counterparts, they're exactly identical. I believe they were scanned or just a mold was made using that pet. 🤷

So I went to a local gamestop and they had the LPS gen 7 blind boxes so I was able to pick the ones I wanted and i'm very happy with what I chose I chose 1,4,and 7 The black and white panda The heterochromia himilayan cat The pink otter They're all adorable and precious and look so sweet I'm excited that LPS are back and that we're able to get them in stores I do have some gen 7 LPS and i'm liking them so far , no complaints here!

The only new molds are the axelotl, French bulldog. The pandas are kinda new. They are slightly chubbier versions of an older mold of pandas and bears. If the date on the pet says 2023 then the mold is new!

I LOVE the new caterpillar!! Patrick's Feet are huge! Fits right in with the other bird molds lmao. In defense of the rabbits eyes, 003's eyes gave me nightmares as a kid. This new one reminds me of the bunny molds that have the floppy ears. The white on the eyes look slightly mirky? Do you see that? Am I crazy? Gassp! Your walrus looks a lot like a patchwork puppy I painted a few years ago! think the poodle is a repaint of 2267, even has stars in the same spot. There are a ton of poodle bases, like 7 or 8. Oh ok so the sclera's are mirky on purpose? hm... mixed feelings on that. I. LOVE. LPS horses, have such a collection! Totally agree that this new one is ADORABLE!! I'm also not huge on the spaniel's eyes. YUHH The reptiles are my favorite next to horse molds (also bee656 and snake1849 specifically) I'm so glad you got at least one!!! he's such a little guyyy

I really like how they made sure to hide the seem lines so that the white glue that was in between the seams in the old ones are easy to spot too. Also I feel like the softer plastic will make customs easier too since the heads come off easy and can be piped right back on without as much anxiety as the old ones. These are so cute!! I’m just so happy that this is a sign toy companies might have competition to put effort into toys again and stop cheaping out too! Edit: the shark coming with the surfboard shocks me since like uh sharks and surfboards don’t have a good rep due to some past events 😥

AAAAHH! BAHAHS sorry, but i am just soooo exited! I feel so warm and fuzzy inside when i look at these pets! Personally i am very happy with how these have come out and i cant wait to get my hands on them (especially Angela lol, i love that we now have another pet with heterochromia!)!! I also love all the effort put into not only the designs but also the packaging itself (less plastic ans so on), it is refreshing to see a company actually caring about the fanbase! I'm 23 and grew up with LPS. Like I even had that big blue house with the fish that everyone goes nuts over. My baby sister is about to turn 3. So I am OVER THE MOON to be finding these in stores. I got her a blind box and set of 2 for her for her bday in December. She lives like 1h away from me, but it is SO tempting to bring my big box to go play LPS with her, lol. I am gonna gift her my G2 puffin though cause she loves birds, especially puffins. I think it's special too cause I shared my LPS with our middle sister so it's something two of her big sisters played with prior to her 🥹

Me personally, I think some of the pets don’t have as much bobble, maybe if they made the neckplugs just a teensy bit deeper it would help elevate whenever they walk on a hard surface so it won’t feel as shallow, but then again idk if that would help

My sister loved lps so naturally when I was born I was now play mate and we played with lps for years and eventually she was “too old” and didn’t want to play or have them anymore so they all went to me, I had a huge collection and I even loved when g3 and 4 and even 5 but after they just got boring, I still absolutely love LPs and collecting them. So having them back just brings back so much joy. Now she wants lps again haha. I was 12 or 13 when the lps disappeared from stores. I was still getting them tyen also, I just didn’t like them anymore. I loved g3 and 4 bc they had both bobble and the new ones. But after they just got funky.

Going on a little spree here... I was unfortunately too young to really "shop" for LPS. And of course my parents would always pull the "no toys today" so never really got to thoroughly look. Got them mostly as presents/gifts. And man... I miss LPStube. People would post almost everyday. Miss those days for sure. Very nostalgic.

6:30 as someone who works in retail I don’t think those boxes are the ones we use in stores. we just got one (I’ve been holding it and slowly buying each blind box off) the display case is much shorter than this one and the Himalayan cat is actually in one of the boxes (she was the first new lps I pulled). I preordered the one you’re reviewing and I just think it’s probably a personal version for collectors. can’t wait to get this version of the box so I can have them all!!!

Target in the USA either never put out the blind boxes they said that they had shipped to them, or they sold out immediately once they were put out. I had been around every target in the area (Richmond, VA) and they sold out within a day as I wasn't able to get any of the blind boxes. I think Basic Fun likely prioritized getting product to influencers rather than releasing enough for the public for the demand that would've been created by the influencers.

Personally, I like the natural colors of the fur and all that of the older generation, which is also why I don’t like the new hasbro generation, but I love that the old molds are back and I definitely prefer the new ones over all, plus, I could just customize them with natural colors if I wanted
