This is a great surprise. One of the greatest heavy metal bands of all times, Iron Maiden level for me. All the different lineups are great, in every era of the band they had brilliant songwriters and amazing musicians. I saw them live again last year and they're still incredible (with Kai, Deris and Kiske all together). Micheal Weikath is probably my favorite metal songwriter alongside Steve Harris (so many epics).

Close enough. While maiden is the greatest band of all time with live after death being the greatest live album of all time, helloween is up there

@CymruCelt01 i think you're right. After the great success of "Keepers" they sign with EMI but soon after Kai Hansen left the band. The "Pink Bubbles Go Ape" album was still pretty good but at the time of release it was not well recieved by the fans, probably because of the lack of epic-fantasy themes, the weird "non-metal" cover and an inadequate promotion by the label.

@@GortholMormegil Pink Bubbles sounded nothing like the 2 Keeper albums, that’s why the reception was so bad. Sadly Chameleon only made them less popular. But hey, Kiske and Kai came back and then they made their 2021 self-titled album which is their best work in 20 years.

I love that quick second solo after the harmony. You killed it. Great job. I found this band almost by accident in high school but I started with Maiden in Jr high so I had a good foundation. Lol Magazines were still important and a lot of up and coming bands got noticed that way since metal wasn't on any radio station I had but I had the record store and zines.
