Come on Decker, you got to admit, there were some great lines and Doug Bradley's delivery was amazing. The movie was tawdry but very entertaining and fun, at least in my opinion and when I met Doug Bradley in 2013 Spooky Empire Horrorfest he was so nice and so British and he said that the director, Anthony Hickox fucked things up as did the studio, shocking revealation there, but it was still fun, cool visually and enjoyable despite its mountain of flaws. You may like Federal Protection with Armand Assante also done by Hickox, it a great action thriller and a lot of fun and filled with gorgeous women just like Hellraiser 3. Terry Farrell is something else beautywise.

You know, it's times like this where I kind of almost feel like I could make more interesting and creative designs for cenobytes. Like say, a wheelchair-bound cenobyte for instance. What with the possibility of having parts of its skin and flesh be fused/bolted/wrapped around the back seat frame of a rickety old wheelchair, whilst having all sorts of tubing be jammed in places like the sides of its throat, up through its nostrils and possibly even parts of its chest where the lungs would be.

I have to defend the Cenobites looks because unlike the previous ones, these where solely created by Pinhead. Not the Leviathan/Puzzle Box. So he had to make due with what he was given. His ties to Elliot Spencer were also crucial in the film, because throughout Pinhead and Spencer's connection is severed. Why does that matter? Because it is Elliot Spencer's humanity that made Pinhead the way he was. Without Spencer, Pinhead is free and in order to stay free and raise Hell On Earth, he needs to destroy the Puzzle Box. The only way to defeat Pinhead is to have him fuse back with Spencer, which ends up happening. But other than those, good review.

Hellraiser: Revelations as it was meant to be part of the established series, Hellworld was special kind of insulting because it tried to be a meta film about a great mythos but knew jack-shit about said mythos (the only thing they got right, was that Lemarchand was normally a evil man)

I have watched most of these Hellraiser reviews and the host miss understands something from every film. In this film he does not understand the reporter watching TV news report about massacre at club. The reason the TV is not plugged in and there are no cops or reporters at the club is because the news report she watched was controlled by Pinhead to get her to the club. He made her hallucinate it. Another example is in the first film the host does not know what the wall crawler is and that is the famed Engineer.

I definitely don't think this is the worst Hellraiser movie, it at least added a bit to the mythos with the whole splitting Pinhead's human and cenobite sides, and adding more to Pinhead's backstory, which was pretty good, but yeah, it was a very obvious divide from the previous films, and even the next one. It felt sleazier, the rock music on the soundtrack was jarring, the pseudo-cenobites were uninspired and boring, the acting wasn't great except Doug Bradley. Overall this is kinda the guilty pleasure of the series for me. It's stupid and nowhere near as good as the series' high points, but I still kinda enjoy it if only for its over the top-ness.
@Jeffrey3141599 жыл бұрын
Yes, the story takes place in NYC but was made on the streets of North Carolina, like a lot of movies back then. Problem is the streets of a NC are generally a lot cleaner than those of NYC, at least back then. This bimbo Terry Farrel went on to star in DS9 and other sci-fi dreck like LEGION.

+Granger Monette thats the problem for me real life people could do make things like that and I cant watch a movie where somehing like that could be done by some twisted evil people,I am aware that there is a plot to the saw films I have watched the 1st and 3rd but I couldn't get over the fact someone sick enough would do hose thjng in real life,I brought up saw and hostel as an example of how well the gore and torture scenes were done in those film's and that a well funded hellraiser film could be on par or exceed the films in terms of the effects, while saw movies are not something I will watch because of the realty of them the hellraiser movies are about supernatural beings committing the acts makes it somewhat watchable for me due to that fact that I highly doubt something like pinhead exists,that being said I still probable would have a hard time with some of the gore effects, do you see where I'm comjng from?

*TRIGGERED* Oh there are soooo many things wrong with this review. This comment has now been altered several times. Teaches me to click the like button and comment before I've seen the entire thing. Now listen up! Here's the deal: 1. Joey doesn't know that the box can banish Pinhead. She's NOT Kirsty. 2. Yes Pinhead is unhinged. And the explanation is right in front of you. Pinhead is mad and batsh*t crazy, because he's unbound. His other half: Elliot Spencer is missing. He's unbalanced, he's "unplugged, a new man" (as Agent Smith from The Matrix said). That's why Elliot needs to stop him and bring him back to Hell, so that Pinhead can get back into shape. 3. Dude! If you're going to make movie reviews, then ironically you've got to learn to pay attention. The Nostalgia Critic let me down. Do not follow in his footsteps! 4. The church scene was "Pointless"? So you'd prefer a horror movie without the actual horror elements in them, because the horror elements are unimportant to the plot? That's like ordering a Happy Meal, only for the cardboard box. Why don't you scrub off all of the pictures while you're at it? 5. You're confused that Elliot's ghost confronts Pinhead? You're watching a movie about supernatural beings and hellish dimensions, and THIS confuses you? You're bothered by Pinheads voice, because he doesn't sound like he did in the previous movie. Dude you're just looking for flaws at this point. And the explanation is once again right infront of you. This time like a helicopter with a man shouting it at you through a loudspeaker. "PINHEAD IS NOT HIMSELF. HE IS INCOMPLETE WITHOUT HIS COUNTERPART." 6. I think I've found my calling in life. I'm going to review critics and reviewers.
