That line was so badass! I loved when Andy's actor, Alex Vincent, came back to the series in Curse and Cult. Need to see the Syfy show, Chucky, but I loved it when I got his autograph at Calgary HorrorCon. Also, speaking of the line, "This is the end," no offense to Brian Tyree Henry, but his version of Mike Norris ruined the delivery of that. It should've been when Andy stabbed Chucky, with Andy saying the line when Chucky said, "... Annnndyyyy... I thought we were friends," adding in the "to the end" bit.

I had a "my buddy " doll , after watching Childs Play 2 in the theater as a kid, I apparently had a crazy nightmare that the doll was choking me. My mom woke me up when she heard me screaming and ran into the room to see me apparently choking myself screaming "no chucky, stop!! ". I dont remember the nightmare, but i remember my mom pulling my hands yelling "WAKE UP! WAKE UP!" Good times

One of the best horror movies ever made. I like how they added gunplay and action to the slasher genre. Also the first child’s play is the best. You got some of the best explosions you’ll see in a horror movie except for maybe the first critters movie.

Yeah, in the late nineties, there were Cabbage Patch dolls with motorized jaws that could eat plastic food. They were recalled after five kids landed in the emergency room with fingers and or hair caught in the jaw motor

On the deadbolt thing, a deadbolt is only as strong as the material it's going into. If it's a cheap ass door, a stiff kick would work to open the thing

Can confirm. I've had doors with deadbolts that could survive a sledge swing, but the door itself folded like cardboard. I also had very violent brothers that got into a lot of fights, so... Lot of new doors.

NICE! This movie terrified me when I was younger but I learned to love it later on. Steven Spielberg was going to direct the film, but turned it down as Tom Holland was hired by United Artists after they were impressed by his horror comedy film Fright Night. William Friedkin, Joseph Ruben, Robert Wise, Robert Aldrich, Jack Clayton and Irvin Kershner were also considered for directing.

Child's Play is probably my favourite slasher flick not from Wes Craven. Making the protagonist a kid was an inspired move, and said kid Andy is probably up there with Kirsty Cotton (Hellraiser 1 & 2) and Ellen Ripley (the original Alien trilogy) as one of my favourite horror protagonists, as I find myself empathising with his plight whenever I watch it. But of course, the guy who steals the show is Grima Wormtongue himself, Brad Dourif, as Charles Lee Ray, now Chucky. Chucky is practically relishing in his new found strengths and abilities, and Dourif SELLS that mix of being utterly frightening yet just ridiculous enough to make this character feel like a genuine threat despite the ludicrous premise. Really, the main reason why I don't own it anymore is because I sold my prior Blu-Ray set to bag the current Arrow Video blu-ray set of the original Child's Play films... And that Arrow set costs around £90 British pounds. Sucks, too. The Arrow disc for Child's Play 1 features among other things, Brad doing in-character commentary on select kill scenes from the film, and the new transfers for the sequels are meant to be really good.
