I thank my cast and crew of biology students who volunteered time and effort to go beyond their biology training to create free entertainment for others, actors very much included. Under the circumstances, they did a fantastic job. It's a shame that the film they've helped create with no compensation is being so scathingly unappreciated by some, as this was intended to be a fun project that harmed no one. I do hope that others go forward and make even better fan films...

Its nice to see the efforts of all the people who cared enough to make this movie realized. The director's vision & passion for the work of all of the creators of hellraiser is evident in this film. I especially like the use of the none traditional cenobites & can't wait to see the final outcome of the movie. The acting has been called flat & while do feel that there is a certain amount of truth in this, I must say that the cast did a great job anyway. The story line was outstanding.

A reasonably conceived and managed production let down by the old favourites 'friends instead of actors', 'budget', and 'the script'. Much respect for the effort that has clearly gone to it all, if not massively for the finished thing.

For those interested, the official DVD is now available. It contains the HELLRAISER: PROPHECY film and the DEMONS TO OTHERS documentary. The DVD includes trailers, image gallery, alternate takes, gag reel, screening history, filmmaker bios, two commentary tracks, and subtitles in six languages, as well as additional interview footage with Doug Bradley, Gary Tunnicliffe, Simon Bamford and Kari Wuhrer. More information is available at the DVD link on the official website.

Thanks for the feedback! I agree; I was too inexperienced (and still may be) and my fellow biologist friends did the best acting they could. I am learning though; for HR DEADER: WINTER'S LAMENT we had a trained cinematographer, gaffer and actors, and I believe it will be stronger than this, my fledgling attempt. :) And yes, I absoLUTEly recommend you forward and make your film; there's no feeling like seeing your ideas manifested visually! I wish you the very best in your efforts!

I have been waiting months for HR:PROPHECY and I wasn't that disappointed. I enjoyed it throughly. I love the script and story. As much as I love Pinhead, I'm glad this film keeps more to the variety of the comics and we get to see more (at last) of the under-rated Angelique. For a fan film by biology students, you did a great job!

The nature of fan films are that the majority of them have low budgets but to see fans craft a film which crosses the Hellraiser mythology with that of The Prophecy films is unique and very interesting. Congrats.

Nice little twist at the end there with Lucifer. Despite some hardcore HR fans protests, I once thought that a Prophecy crossover was natural for Dimension to do. Especially after the whole Helloween thing fell through.

Greetings, you can find "Spike" from in the deleted scenes of HR7 on the DVD. It was created by Gary Tunnicliffe for the film, but was sadly deleted out. Spike was purportedly inspired by an image from one of the nightmare flashes from EVENT HORIZON, the Paul WS Anderson film...

"It is not hands that call us, it is desire." Good point, but what I was trying to convey that her obsession to save her sister is what gave her sufficient desire to solve the box to be able to open it... After all, in HR6, Kirsty re-solves the puzzle fueled by a desire for a revenge and in HR7, Amy Klein solves the puzzle fueled by obsession to get her story... But, it is a good point, and I agree, I could have done more to shore up Natasha's "desire/obsession" aspect. Cheers!

From the website FAQ: "this film is intended for die-hard fans of the Hellraiser series, including its films, literature and especially the comics. The Hellraiser mythos goes much father than just Pinhead, but rather extends out to encompass Leviathan and the entire army of Cenobites. Pinhead is but one Cenobite. This film features four of the others as previously seen in the films." Again, though, we will have Pinhead in our next fan film HR: WINTER'S LAMENT becaues the backstory warrants it.

I think this was a very good movie (at the risk of sounding like everyone else), considering what you had to work with. I have made 2 short films myself (found on my page here) and one is ALSO a homage to a horror/sci-fi movie, Plan 9 From Outer Space. And eveyone who is giving this guy grief, please cut him some slack. Those who decide to make fan films MUST work with what they have, money, actor, props, etc. So Kudos to you sir for making an awesome movie, I' looking forward to the next one.

Thanks for the comments... Yeah, our budget was a few thousand; more than it should have been. But again, we had no filmmaking training whatsoever... We're all biologists... The costumes were mostly handmade by Christie Bialowas. And the Lead Cenobite wasn't a female Pinhead, but rather Angelique, who was previously seen in Hellraiser 4... No vocoder, just CoolEdit... Thanks again!

The "diaper" was a general surgeon with no budget doing the best makeup she could. I trust that your film will have more money and more experience, and I look forward to learning from what you will accomplish. As to Lucifer, you're right; that's why this is a crossover fan film, and not canon. I might recommend that if you're so against the idea, that your time might have been better spent studying, say, English, rather than watching a fan-made film that you knew you wouldn't enjoy.

jungletekno: First of all, Lucifer has to do with the PROPHECY series. If you didn't want to see a crossover, then this film isn't for you, and you didn't need to keep watching. Secondly, the rotating black diamond is named "Leviathan," (who is mentioned throughout Pt. 2 of this film) and the spelling is "cenobite." As to the lighting effects, I completely agree with you. And again, Clive Barker is bringing Pinhead into a Judeo-Christian variation of Hell in THE SCARLET GOSPELS.

Points to your "actors" for having the guts to make this. After reminding myself that it is amatuer video, I have to say that the storyline definitely has potential - especially for those of us who have seen all the films (bad as some of them were), know the mythology, and can't wait for The Scarlet Gospels to be published. And smart to keep Pinhead out of it - anyone other than Doug Bradley playing him would look like a fool. Nice job!

"It is not hands that call us, it is desire" - classic line, but all HR films after Part 2 ignored this aspect. In HR 3 Pinhead runs around and kills all kinds of clueless people (turning some of them into cenobites like Dischead or Camerahead).

I usually don't post asinine comments by ignorant users, but this one made me smile. :) 1) First off, you shouldn't have watched Part 2, if you didn't like Part 1, nor should you have spent even more time commenting, so YOU wasted your time, not ME. :) 2) Our actors weren't from porn, they were biologists. 3) This "disgrace to Hellraiser" was enjoyed for what it was by Clive Barker and was the first film to reference Leviathan since HR2. 4) When you get off your ass & do better, let me know.

Why bother? Because we wanted to, and because we could. Lori volunteered to play the part, and since we were both trained in biology rather than acting/filmmaking, we decided to try and make a free Hellraiser fan film for fun. So, she bothered because she wanted to try something new, which she didn't have to do. I bothered because I love the Hellraiser and Prophecy storylines and wanted to tell a story.

Biology students generally don't have camcorders lying around that support changing lenses. This was our first attempt at a film, and all we could afford were fecking home camcorders, not even prosumer ones. The original Hellraiser had 5 producers, a film studio and over 100 crew according to IMDB. We had about a dozen biology students, my credit card and zero experience. So a little perspective might be in order here. Sorry your free entertainment was so disappointing. Yours will be better.
