DIY Hershey Dunkers - Pizza Hut

I got to try Hershey Dunkers for the first time at Pizza Hut and I realized it's their breadsticks with chocolate shit on top and that got me excited. I'm a huge fan of sweet & salty combinations in moderation of course. I'm not sure if I could polish an entire tray of this in one sitting, but my God are these easy to make and great for that awkward sweet tooth friend who'll creepily keep grabbing more, while trying to be inconspicuous.

Hershey Dunkers
280 Calories Per Serving
Serving Size: 4 Dunkers
Prep: 10 minutes
Bake @ 425°F: 20-30 minutes
​Broil: 3-5 minutes

Equipment:
• 9x13 Inch Baking Pan: amzn.to/1OQMjKI

Ingredients:
• Milk Chocolate Chips
• White Chocolate Chips
• Pizza Dough
• Hershey's Chocolate Syrup
• 2 Tbsp Vegetable Oil

Directions:
1. Pour roughly 2 Tbsp Vegetable Oil in a 9x13 inch baking pan and then form your pizza dough to fill that 9 x 13 inch space.
2. With a dough cutter, press firmly down on the dough 4-5 columns the long way and once halfway between creating roughly 10-12 breadsticks. This will allow the breadsticks to pull apart from itself after baking.
3. Bake for 20-30 minutes or until fully cooked. The bottom should have a nice golden crispy texture and the top should have a lighter golden color as well.
4. Grind up the milk chocolate chips & white chocolate chips separately in a food processor to get the proper size.
5. Top first with the milk chocolate chips covering all of the bread and then sprinkle on the white chocolate chips until it just looks the way you want it to look.
6. Now just pop this back into the oven set to broil and keep a careful eye on this until the chocolate melts a bit and the top of the crust gets nice and golden brown.
7. To make your own Hershey Chocolate Syrup, simply melt Hershey Chocolate Chips with heavy cream or just buy the Hershey Chocolate Syrup off the shelf, taste just like the sauce you get at Pizza Hut.

I worked at Pizza Hut when they had these. They are super easy to make. This video has it all wrong Here's how: Get a pan. You can actually buy a Pizza Hut bread stick pan on ebay, but you don't have to. Any deep 13x9 pan will do. 1) Make or buy 16 ounces of dough. Preferable to make it- much better and cheaper. 2) Add two tablespoons of vegetable oil to the pan and spread evenly 3) Roll and stretch the dough out so that it fills the pan and place it in the pan. Spray the top lightly with cooking spray so that it doesn't dry out. 4) Cover the pan and place it in the refrigerator for at least an hour, but no more than four hours 5) Take your chocolate and grind it into a fine powder. I used a cheese grater when I did mine. A blender or food processor may work. I never tried it. The best part about this step is that you can upgrade and experiment. I substitute Hershey's with vastly superior Ghirardelli. I skip the white chocolate because I don't like white chocolate. At some point I would like to try adding ground up Reese's chips to the mix. Honestly, I'm with JT on these. They are okay. I don't know when, or if I ever will make these again. But if I do, that's something I would like to try. 6) Preheat the oven to 350. 7) Take the dough out of the refrigerator. Do not pre-cut it. That will deflate the dough. We had a big jug of butter flavored oil and a paint brush at Pizza Hut. So this is another upgrade. Get two or three tablespoons of butter and put them in a a small bowl, melt them in the microwave until they are completely melted. It shouldn't take more than 30-40 seconds. Apply the butter to the breadsticks evenly. Just enough to cover them. 8) Apply the chocolate evenly. A reasonable amount. Too much will cause it to not cook properly. 9) Cover the pan with something oven safe. I use a cookie sheet. If you do not cover it, the chocolate will burn. 10) Bake for about 15 minutes. I can't tell you how long it will take. Every oven is different. Trial and error. 15 should do it. You may need more time. 11) Remove the dunkers form the pan. Cut them in to ten even pieces horizontally, then cut them in half vertically. 12) Wash the knife immediately. It will be much easier now then once all the chocolate and butter dries. 13) Enjoy your dunkers that are much better and cheaper than ones Pizza Hut used to sell. The process is exactly the same except you top them with a mixture of cinnamon and sugar. Both of which are dirt cheap. You can find cinnamon at Dollar Tree for just a buck.

Use Chirardelli Dark and White chocolate, Candy making and dipping bars, double chocolate instead. Melt bars with fresh cream for sauce. Included coursley ground macadamia nuts to top bars. Serve with favorite coffee drink.
