It's funny that the nun is named Lilith. My older sister once told me that Lilith is a demon who once lived in the garden of eden and was apparently Adam's first wife, but God then banned her from the garden (can't remember why) and as a punishment all of her children would die. She was so angry at God that to seek revenge she joined the dark side and disguised herself as the snake who tricked Eve into eating the apple. Perhaps someone knows the story better than I do 😂 sorry.

Though it makes some sense that if the dog is in the real where these entities exist in tangible form, then it could actually destroy them. Cats and witches go together for this reason. Nothing all that sinister about innocent cats. Specially black ones. I kinda took the reaction to Neil to be more fake than supernatural forgetfulness. "Neil? Neil who? I never heard of no Neil." They knew what happened to him and warned him about causing trouble and panic in their little town, so they took care of him. They're just relying on the fact the mailman doesn't know what's going on and is too new to the area to really have any idea who Neil was.

I’ve noticed a lot of Horror Games recently have been low quality or very childish. For example Helltown, The one Llama Killer game, The Bonnie’s Bakery, or even Amanda the Adventure. Maybe it starts off friendly so people can get comfortable then put them in a horror survival experience.

This sort of thing is pretty common in horror media. Something looks unassuming and happy, only so that it can be all the scarier for its actual horrors. It's like going in a hot tub before leaping into a cold pool, the sheer difference amplifies the shock. Not to mention, it both makes you put your guard down just a little bit, and it builds tension as you wait for the horror you know is approaching.

Wait what if it's like where John already died, and was already caught. He lives through what happened over and over as a external nightmare forever, as in whatever ending he gets he will "relive" the nightmare forever. Or he it's like how when he woke up from the running in the woods as if it was a nightmare, but in reality it was a faint memory from his past "life" when he was running from the graveyard. So no matter what happens, it will repeat FOREVER. Lol idk if that made sense😅

since you're playing small horror games, I have two games I recommend playing. first being Beholder 2, for how it has parallels to real life dictatorship. and bugsnax, most in the part to the fact that despite it's cute artstyle and gameplay, shockingly has some adult themes to it. Yeah I'm kind of curious if you go through the small town you'll notice there aren't any children now I know that Colts some of them well have you practice abstinence but for this cult it really doesn't make sense because the entity wants to devour as many Souls as it can but I do remember in Layla's Journal her talking about her eating a small boy that came across the cabin so I'm curious did the people in the town their children as a step of some kind of ritual or am I just overthinking it

I like how this game really holds its influences on its sleeve, and it makes me wonder what homages are there that I missed or didn't recognise So far you see allusions to The Shining, Silent Hill, Lovecraft, Amnesia/Penumbra, etc There's almost certainly more that I just don't recognise, but Stephen King works like The Shining and Silent Hill are the most obvious

Ok, but let me expain (as European you should recognize classic medieval arts). It is not nun painting, it is modification of one of medieval Eastern European Virgin Mary Icons, there is some mayor changes in this picture. You should know that in icons everything have matters: position, color, greek symbols, gesture ect. When we compare real icon with this one in game, you can see some not accidental changes: picture is fliped horizontaly, Mary have black dress and of coures instead of Jesus, there is some piece of meat (?). The Dog is a gaurdian angel, and that homeless guy, while down on his luck, is the only good person in littlevale, just finding himself there by chance but never actually giving up hope, so the dog was sent to him as a protector, hence the reason the dog can kill demons with its bark.

I love this game, the style and story mix really well. The atmosphere of the outcast in the town, but still over friendly community. Although the story is kinda ass ways a lot of the time. I really like this game.

This is one of those stories that becomes less scary the more you dig into it. On the surface it’s really cool and creepy, but once you find out about the nun, dark ones and the pastor just being controlled by an evil entity, it stops becoming scary and instead feels formulaic.

That’s not a nun in the painting. The original painting is of the Virgin Mary cradling baby Jesus. Except in the painting here, Jesus has been replaced with a demon. I’m pretty sure that the statue is of the Virgin Mary as well. UNLESS the demonic nun forced the Pastor to make a statue and painting of her in place of Mary. This game is fascinating.
