one thing i want to share about little prince ( you may know that fact) is that the writer had used 'the rose' as a metaphor of woman in this book , when he says his rose he means his wife which he loved truly but other roses(other women) distracted him, therefore jeopardizing their relationship. This book is one of my favourites, i hope you liked this fact which is ignored by many readers as they consider it childish but it is a beautifully wrtten poetic read.

I love George Orwell's writing.Animal farm is also a great read and recommended for people who have interest in politics or at least wants to know about how things actually works in politics. I still remember the quote "All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others". It's easy to read also. Dystopian fictions are great.

Since u like Doestoevsky maybe try and tackle Brothers Karamazov. "If u could read any one book in your life that should be it." i don't agree with that statement but i can see why it is being said. also here are a few "life changing books" (though that phrase is redundant, maybe thoughts changing :P) 1. Slaughterhouse 5, Kurt Vonnegut 2. Brave New World, Aldous Huxley 3. Small Gods, Terry Pratchett 4. The Stranger/Outsider, Albert Camus 5. Watership Down, Richard Adams i really like margaret atwood too but one thing she is guilty of i think is that she kinda tries to pose as a literary writer than genre. that is sad i guess. why cant genre literature be held in the same regard as literary?

Norwegian Wood and 1984 are the ones I have read among your picks and I totally agree with you. I wish your desciption of NW had been more. I would recommend anyone to read Sapiens to develop a rational bent of mind. Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramahansa Yogananda is again a masterpiece which is only to be felt and not understood. Metamorphosis by Frank kafka is a bit long short story to enlighten you on the absurdities of life. Finally Kafka On The Shore. I have a lot of riddles from it to catch upon but the ones I have solved just gives me inner satisfaction. Thank You Helly.

Agony and the Ecstacy by Irving stone is the story of a man's love for a piece of marble. The way he chip away pieces from stone to form beauty , the way he tries to breathe life into it like god did to man in Genesis, the way he built each architectural entity like a piece of sculpture, the way he balances the centre of mass of the stone through its metamorphosis. The book also explores the reason behind the shape of each sculpture and emotion it protray. After reading this book, it Will change the way we look at sculptures.
