I did this walk with a friend just over a year ago now but we started with Steel Fell and dropped down from Helm Crag to the Travellers Rest put for a well deserved pint. Always a boggy walk but always great views and a very underrated horseshoe as well imo, cheers Alan

Thanks Alan, we did think of doing it that way around and this is the route the book suggests (Graham Uney's Walking the Wainwrights) but the descent down Steel Fell looked a bit gentler on the knees!

Thanks very much, it was my first time using the drone properly so hopefully future footage is better.

Like your videos. Your easy going manner and information along the route gives a feeling that you are taking us on the walk with you. If its a bit of a slog in poor weather...you say it...not everything is always brilliant or easy in the fells. Like the endings as well in the pub for a few well deserved pints.. Looking forward to the next one.👍

Great video mate, I will have to give that walk a try. Drone footage was spot on.

Appreciate it, I would have liked to get some more drone footage but it was just too windy

My first proper Wainwright bagging routes this, climbed up the howitzer and nearly couldn't get back down 😂 a bit scary if I'm honest, boss walk this though mate 🤙

Nice one, great views to different parts of the Lakes and not too much effort required.

Nice route. How long did it take? Thanks for the Tweedy’s bar recommendation in Grasmere too. Always good to know the pub options 👍🏼🍻

It took us about 5 hours but that was with me messing about with the drone etc. so it could be done more quickly. Great views though so a shame to rush it!

The King Dunmail story is completely true, so if you're on the bus from Grasmere, don't be too surprised if a bunch of elderly spectral warriors get onboard. They're getting on a bit now and some of them are quite rickety.

Given the lads are over 1000 now I hope they get a Senior Citizens discount!
