I've loved this song since 1968 when Barry Ryan first recorded it, and it will always be the best, and no-one else has sung it as well. It's Barry's song written for him by Paul, and although this and other versions are good, nothing will ever replace Barry's powerful voice and the way he sung Eloise 💞.

Nicht ganz: Der Bruder von Barry Ryan war der wirkliche Macher. Paul Ryan war Komponist und Songwriter. Und ein sehr guter Fotograf. "Eloise" ist nur ein Beispiel seines Schaffens. Aber Sie haben schon recht, Barry Ryan hat das sehr gut gesungen. Allerdings, wie ich zu meinem Erstaunen zugeben muss, nicht so gut wie Helmut Lotti hier.

I do all that you can read this seeing it was 4 years a go what you said I'm going to agree with the words you have been saying, Barry Ryan was still is the only person who could have ever some this correctly guy just some now what's 14 years ago I believe it was too much of a gentleman or young gentleman to put the correct pronunciations I won't say ruff English language but a dialect with proper pronunciation with what dialect it is. oh and the end of the song was not worth it.

I discovered Helmut with this extraordinary concert . I made a long show on a regional french radio with him. Really kind guy . I saw 3 concerts of him . Unfortunately, later, Helmut changed his style. Each year, his concert was about a style of songs : pop classics here, latina, Elvis (the singer number one in his heart), Russia, etc .... we miss great concerts like that now !

Helmut Lotti is a brilliant and very talented performer from Belgium. Some people prefer the original song. I prefer Helmut's version as I find it more vibrant. The purpose of covering a song is not to copy it but to give it a personal touch. I attended this concert which was held at the Grande Place of Brussels. A truly magical setting.
