Great Idea using double sided tape; worked!! What's a good way to remove stuck bulb base that has some glass attached? Thanks for your assistance. Saved me $$$ here in California electricians make more money than a Surgeon..LOL

If you do not have double sided tape to put on the end of a broomstick, you can, instead, try wrapping some rubber bands around the end of the broomstick and try the sane procedure shown in this video.

If it wasn’t a three-way but just a regular light with a switch, would you have been comfortable just turning off the switch?

Always best to be safe and protect yourself so it’s a good idea to turn off the breaker also

Wrapping a rubber band around the broomstick handle might work, too. I have sometimes used rubber bands to increase friction for opening stubborn sliding battery compartments and removing stubborn twist caps on bottles. I even keep rubber bands wrapped around the grips on my cordless drill's chuck to make it easier to tighten the chuck's grip on a bit.
