The example given is more of an exception rather than the rule. The description sounds like the driver was throwing the car into park before fully stopping which is asking for trouble. Placing the car in park when fully stopped without setting the parking brake is what most people do and will never see a parking pawl failure. Being a common practice and parking pawls being one of the least common forms of automatic drivetrain failure, that not using the parking brake will cause premature failure is not supported by fact. Additionally using the parking brake, especially on a steep incline, is a best practice. Issues with the linkage, a worn spring, or neglected fluid can all contribute to a parking pawl not fully engaging and allow your auto to go on a solo trip when you walk away with a chance at damaging almost anything other than the transmission. I can appreciate the good advice given, but when the logic behind it is unsupported by fact it undermines the credibility of the good advice.

Do all two-cycle carburetors have to have a hose running from the gas tank to the carburetor? I bought an old weed eater it won't start I cleaned the carburetor but I don't see a hose running from the carburetor to the tank so I'm wondering how does it get gas?

For about ten bucks you can buy a simple spark tester - it connects to the top of the plug and other end into the female plug wire boot. In between is a light which will light up with each pulse of electricity going to the plug. It won't tell you if the plug is bad, but it's the fast and simple way to verify that the coil is functional. I bought mine at Harbor Freight, but I would guess that any auto parts store would have one.

You put the baking soda in the battery. It can spit out and burn your eyes. Batteries are the leading clause of industrial blindness. You never wore safety glasses once how many people do you think? Did this in their backyard and had eye damage or watching your video, not really responsible on your part was it should award safety glasses

I would check for spark when it won’t start. could be a number of issues… Start simple checking for spark, fuel, air and work your way through it. Let us know what you find out.

I was so hoping this was the issue with mine, especially coming across this video because my washer looks so similar! Except the smiley face’s mouth where the clicky thing hides is a bit rusted out on mine. Anyway, I was able to follow the instructions but unfortunately no luck. I can click down on that piece through the mouth without a problem. I took a sharpy and marked the middle column and it does not appear to ever spin. So water seems to drain overall but the clothes are soaking wet and water ends upon the bottom of the spinner. Any videos on a possible fix? 🤞🏻

I would go online and check for motor coupler videos. Sounds like your wash machine will drain but not agitate or spin. Could be a broken motor coupler. Let us know what you find out and wishing you the best on your repair

For anyone reading, it seems most cars are constructed very similarly. I had to do this on a Mazda 3 and the disassembly was very similar to this video. I now have to do it on an Infiniti and again it is very similar. So don't be afraid to tackle this job, it's really not difficult. Just be patient, take pictures of each step so you can remember how things went together, and you'll be fine.

Hello. Mines not starting, ive changed fuel lines,filter, spark plug,cleaned carb could it be the carb adjustment screws?
@helpinguonline3 күн бұрын
It could be… If you took the adjustment screws out when you clean the carburetor… Screw the High and low screw all the way in and then turn them out 1-1/4 turn and start there. Make sure you have spark. Start simple and work your way from there. Let us know what you find out

I was having issues with my door slamming shut during the last couple inches before it touched the floor. I started watching the springs as the door closed and right before the door hit the floor the springs would pop and shift. Because of that, the door would sometimes open itself back up. So, upon doing some research, Google told me that maybe the springs need adjustment. I came to this video and you mentioned the possibility of the springs binding up. Something I never thought of. So I soaked the springs in WD40 and it completely solved the problem. With a little bit of lube, the spring coils don't grind each other and the door closes smoother than ever.

I was given a br 430. They replaced the carb along with a tune up. Plugs, filter etc. It will start but won't run without choke. It might run half choke.

If you replaced the carburetor with an aftermarket one from China… They are kind of hit and miss as to whether they will work properly. You might want to try adjusting the carburetor and see if that helps. Let us know what you find out
@johngaffney59402 күн бұрын
@@helpinguonline Tried adjusting it and no matter how, wouldn't idle without choke. The second china carb actually did idle without choke but bogged down with throttle no matter how adjusted. The original Stihl carb ( made in China ) exhibited same problem. I got another china carb to try. Also checked all fuel lines and was tuned up. Plug, air filter etc.

I have near identical machine (Rover R2650 looks exactly the same) with carby issues. It is a Walbro carby, stamped WT1116 which makes it a WT-1116-1 model. It is not possible to obtain the correct service / rebuild kit here. The Walbro site says to use kit K11-WAT and I've been informed locally to use the K10-WAT. The pump side gaskets and diaphragms in both of these kits only have holes in 2 diagonally opposite corners, however, the WT1116 is fitted with parts that have holes in all 4 corners as it has 2 screws and 2 locating pins. Would you have any experience with this issue? The alternative is to replace the whole carby using a WT-973-1. I'm awaiting a set of mixture screw adjustment tools to see if I can get it to run at high revs. It starts and idles but just bogs and dies as soon as you squeeze the juice on. It will run high revs if I spray fuel into the throat, which suggests to me it is starving for fuel through the carby. Filter is fine, cap is good, new fuel etc, and it is a relatively new machine.

That heat element failed. The company I ordered from gives lifetime warranty but the homeowner had an opportunity to get a free dryer from a friend so they decided to let it go. Some of those aftermarket heat elements do not hold up. Hope that helps you with your project.
