Greetings everyone!
Today, we have one hell of a repair that came in. It's a 58" Samsung LED TV that keeps restarting and never produces a picture according to the customer. This was not so easy to pinpoint, but after some focused troubleshooting, we find where the problem lies! I have a couple more of these faulty TVs with me that have the same exact issue, and they will be my next repair and they will be shown in my next few videos!
Please subscribe to the channel if you like this sort of content and subscribe to all notifications to never miss a new video!
Catch you on the next one,

Thank you soo much! I already had electrial tape and was about to fork out for a new power board but after seeing this video you saved me money! I'm proud of myself for fixing it rather than getting a new one. mines the Samsung TU8000 and only 3 years old too! Thank you!

Glad to hear it worked! There is a misconception that it's always the main board or power supply at fault, but unfortunately this is not true all the time. Glad to hear it worked out for you and I hope you keep watching!

Great video, thanks. My 70" Samsung failed the same way. I noticed over time, before it failed, that the picture was becoming patchy. Would only really notice this if there was a program where the screen was mostly white or one colour. It was getting steadily worse. Don't know if it's connected to the final failure. It's not the first Samsung TV I've had that's failed this way, gone patchy. Anyway I have no confidence in Samsung TV's anymore and will buy a different brand to replace it. It is only 3 years old.

if you think another brand is better, you are wrong. all the same. buy a warranty extension next time. these TVs are made to be cheap, if they were also reliable they would cost ten times more. do you remember how much plasma televisions cost at the beginning....?

Great to see this. I had my Samsung 55" tv for about 4 years, when the tv started to shut down and not booting up anymore. I used a piece of tape to isolate 3 lines on the left Flex cable, and suddenly the tv started up without any issues. I also do not see any lines or faulty colors in the screen. Problem isolated👌🏼! Might sell it because I already bought a new tv when this one broke in 2021😂. Thanks!

My Scamsung TV is having similar issues. It suddenly keeps restarting. Already pinpointed to the strips below the LCD screen, so probably something shorted within the screen itself. It baffles me how many Scamsung TV's are having the same issue. Probably some sort of degradation of the substrate in the panel. TV is just over 3 years old. The way companies sell us stuff that break down juuuust after warranty is saddening. Thanks for the video, I'll give it a go tomorrow!

Hi, I followed your technique, tv would restart and boot then restart , looping. I taped over 3 clock signals on the left hand side ribbon. Now the tv boots up, I can hear the chime and tv turns off and on with remote , backlight on , etc. But no picture , just I hear sound via the hdmi input . Backlight is on and tv does not boot loop anymore. Do you think my main board tcon side of it faulty or is my screen itself faulty and no matter what I tape up on the ribbon signals , still no picture but audio only! Hope you can help ?

Anyways, both of my TVs has horizontal lines. One TV i fixed because like you said 90% of issues will be on the right side and with a bit of type ive fixed it blocking few pins on bridge cable, but the other TV has issue on the left side. my question is, how do i block pins for the left side because the is only one cable that coming from the main board. Hello, my 58" TV turns on/off. I went ahead and disconnected the motherboard above power supply. The backlight are good and power supply is good too. Now if I disconnect the white strip connection from the motherboard, the backlight stays on but no picture and no sound. If I reconnect the strip and unplug 1 drive (right/left) , the backlight stays on aswell. If I disconnect the middle "power button" from motherboard, it does the same thing as the beginning. You mentioned that no sound from speaker after disconnecting the white connecter from m/b could be the reason?

Like how I mentioned in a previous comment under this video, there is a IC that is responsible for sending all the voltages to the panel boards. This IC might have failed and could be causing your problem. I don't remember the part number, but it should be located near the flex cable connector.

I'm glad you got your TV back up and running! Unfortunately, this would be the best solution to my knowledge, and flaws like the one you see now are a result of the blocked signals. Sometimes, you get a slightly washed out picture on the side where the shorted clock signals are.

Hi, Thanks for the Video, ik clears up a lot. (About the working of the different components) Maybe you can help me diagnose a somewhat similar problem whit my 58 inch Samsung tv. (Exactly the same power supply and Controller board even the display boards are separated the same way) When I turn it on the backlight comes on for a second than dims and the "chime" sound is played. And then it starts al over again. But the chime sound is not played anymore. If I understand you correctly the power supply and the controller board are ok if the chime sound is playing. But because of the backlight is not fully coming on, i guessed the leds don't "take" enough power from the supply and that is shutting down the entire power supply in reboot mode... Am I remotely correct or do you see other ways? English is not my mother tongue, Dutch is, so please forgive me for the grammatical mistakes. Kind regards, David

70 inch Q6DT from costco here. 3 separate driver boards, blocking the exact pin you suspected in the video allows it to boot but no image. The weird thing is that the same thing happens when I block the same pin, whether on the right or left driver board. I believe something in the central driver board was broken. Like most of you here my TV was from around 2020 and lived about 3 years, NEVER Samsung again.

I have a 2013 40" Samsung Tv it comes on an works perfectly for about 20 minutes then the screen blanks off. for a while mt game is still running in the background as you can hear the game play. Then the Red light starts to blink it will only turn off by unplugging it then it works fine again for 10 minutes or so. Could it be the LED lights? I didnt think power cause it's still running. I do get the Samsung Sound when it starts. Love your vids. Thanks

I know for a fact that the issue isn't with the main board or power supply. Not only does it not make sense logically, I also went through the headache of even replacing the two parts off-camera to further prove my point. Furthermore, the backlights can't be an issue because when you power up the TV without the main board connected, they should turn on without an issue, and with the majority of these TVs, this isn't an issue. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!

I have a problem with my Samsung QE50Q60AAUXUA (50inch QLED, bought in 2021), the red LED blinks twice, then the screen turns on with a blank blue tinted color then goes off again. and it repeats. I have tried all the basic troubleshooting methods like unpluging from the outlet and holding the power button, unpluging everything from the back (like HDMs), nothing seems to work. Looks like the screen is good from the front in that half-second of turning on, But I will try this method, got nothing to loose if it's done.. I'll let you know there if it worked or not, but thank you for the hope at least

Followed your diagnosis on this tv. On mine the display seems to work fine if I leave the power cord unplugged and unplug the large white ribbon cable from the motherboard to the display, then plug the power cable in and while the backlight is on, plug the ribbon cable in and then everything works fine until I turn the tv off. Then have to repeat that all over again anytime I want to watch tv. Any ideas what could be the issue? Hope that makes sense

I have almost exactly the same television except mine is a 75 inch. Not sure if you know the answer to this (or anybody who knows about this TV) but my symptoms are that when you go to turn it on, the (Samsung) logo comes on solid at first… and then these horizontal lines develop (which chops up and dims the picture a bit)... and then the TV shuts off and goes through that cycle again. Usually for 10 minutes or so, it reboots, over and over again. When it's just about to turn on and work - and I do hear that tone from the speakers, once it gets to this point, - (which it does usually in less than 15 minutes of letting it cycle like this) you start to see the main menu screen, etc. and then the horizontal lines develop and then it shuts off ... and restarts and then FINALLY, it comes on for a few seconds (with the sound of whatever the TV show is that's playing or whatever) then, it usually goes through one more cycle... and then it stays on (and works perfectly from that point on unless you turn the TV off again). I'm wondering if that's a power board issue (rather than a main board issue). According to the seller who sold it to me, It did start occurring, just after a lightning storm. Do you think replacing the whole power board would do the trick in fixing it? Short of that, is there a particular part (or two) on the power board that would usually be the culprit that I could replace for a lot less money than replacing the whole power board? Even if I have to pay about 125 bucks for a new board, I think it would be worth it. It's a great TV once it stays on. Thanks!

As a technician, it has come to my attention that Samsung utilizes CSOT panels in their televisions, similar to those used by TCL in their TVs, which typically fail after 2 to 2.5 years. Additionally, Samsung's proprietary panels appear to have a lifespan of approximately two years before exhibiting failures. It may be advisable to consider LG or Sony, as they employ panels from LG Display or BOE, which demonstrate lower failure rates than Samsung's panels or CSOT.

There is a IC on the main board that is responsible for delivering all the voltages to the panel boards. I don't remember what part number it is, but it is located near the flex cable connectors. This chip might have failed and it might be causing the TV to not turn on properly. Hope this helps!
