Many many thanks for making this video. I have a Samsung QE50Q60T bought just 3 years ago. Just 10 days ago it started the reboot loop. Samsung authorised repair service said it would cost me £280 to fix it so I tried to search for some self fix solutions. Lucky that I came into this video. I tried the tape method right away (at the same pin positions as shown in the vid) and it fixed the restarting problem but still with some flickering horizontal lines. So I tried shifting the tape to the left bit by bit and also tried both thinner and wider tapes but without any luck. Then I tried shifting the tape to the right and then it worked immediately, even without any horizontal lines or loss of picture quality. For those interested to know, I covered pins 2-5 to the left of the centre of the cable. Hope you find this useful.

@Gintonic91 actually yes! I was able to fix it due to the instructions shown in this video. As it turns out, it was the connector cables that led directly into the TV that was somehow weird and wonky. I covered 2 or 3 pins in from the right, and it worked. The TV has been going strong ever since!

My Qled has held up since 2018, probably shouldn't of said nothing 😁 mine was a cheaper model, the one that started cutting on and off. Thank you for posting this repair video. I appreciate your persistence to repair things and generate less waste in the world. Scotch tape method worked on my Samsung UN55KS8000FXZA that kept boot cycling. I did this initially and it did not work. I knew I had a good power supply, but was not sure about the main board and led panel. I went ahead and installed a new main board and no change. I did not find any burned resistors on the led panel. Went back to scotch taping along the 2 connectors on the main board. Tried a few different sections and then all of a sudden, voila! For anyone out there with a Samsung and who has tried almost everything, try the scotch tape method again on various sections. You may get lucky! It’s worth a shot and costs zero dollars!

Man, you're my hero as for many here. I wonder how many thousands of dollars/euros whatever you have saved for all of us with this video. For anyone having the "working TV with sound but no screen"-problem: Just keep on going! I had the same issue and was about to give up. The way I got it working eventually was by taping up about 4 pins at a time starting from one side and then moving the tape slowly one pin at a time. Eventually you will get some sort of picture. For me it still had a lot of artifacts and flickering but from there you can try to narrow it down to 2-3 pins (in my case) to get a good picture. I think the reason you get the tv working but not the screen is because you're taping up some sort of ground pin or else that is basically shutting off the whole half of the screen meaning you're actually not isolating the shorted leds but again the whole half like you would by unplugging the ribbon cable. Therefore you have to keep going until you find the pins that are acually causing the shortage but do not disable the whole panel. At least that would make sense to me. Hope that helps...

So glad I came across this video. Was hopeless and was almost sure that i may have to buy a new tv. Thought of booking in a technician but thought of giving it a go myself after watching your video. Went straight for that pins where you showed in your video. Tried shifting few times, got the sound on and the reboot stopped. But the reboot started as soon as i tried to plug that pin in again, until one spot from the left worked. Bingo. Not only that it also fixed few yellow green horizontal lines i had started to get few weeks back on top of the screen . Thank you man. Have subscribed to your channel. 👍 You the man.

Awesome mate! My TV is from the side of the road. Worked for a year before it started rebooting... I presume it had a similar issue. I've already replaced the speakers... I'll give this tape trick a go. If not I'll just bring back my old TV which I also found on the side of the road! This world is so wasteful!

My TV 50Q64T had the exact same issue, bought it 3-4 years ago. Thanks for your video, I tried the tape method right away on the connector and that seemed to fix it. Some additional fine tuning with scothtape on location and width seemed to fix it.

Thank you so much. I knew it was like the Sony t-con board. Sadly Samsung don’t have a t-con board instead it have those led boards. But it’s almost the same. Save me a lot of money. P.S. if nobody can find stock tape in the house then just cut the electrical tape from the tv holding the wires for covering those pins.

Have the same model of the tv and tried this. Found out that our troubled pin was the first pin on the right side, but when we covered it with tape, the tv failed to produce any image altogether but didn’t have the original issue of turning on and turning back off again. We were so close, but it looks like we have to buy a new tv. Still appreciate the video though, very thorough and easy to follow!

Good video. So here's what I did: 1. Had LED blink issue, no display 2. Tried taping part of the right side ribbon. TV got on and sound worked fine but no display. Tried taping different parts on right side ribbon, same result = no display but TV works (sound on menu etc) 3. Then tried taping left side ribbon (left part of display main cable), no display again. Eventually when taping different pins, display finally worked. There's a dim horizontal dark grey lines which is not visible from 5 feet apart. So I think this is the only possible solution to get the TV to work somehow. In my country it's almost impossible to repair or have to pay a hefty price. TLDR: Try taping the ribbon cable pins on both side (left ribbon and right ribbon too) 4-5 pins at a time. Eventually display works. This is for all those guys who say they fixed the blinking issue, but no display. This could work. Worked for me.

Could you share which model TV and which pins you taped?
@MohammedAneek Жыл бұрын
@@darude1420 model is samsung 55RU7100. Actually for pins, it was more like a random order. Randomly try taping 4 to 5 pins. For me what worked was the left side ribbon, around 20pins from left side. So its approx around 20th to 24th pins (just an idea didn't count exact).

Muntzing! Nice work; solid process of elimination, and the fix was the last thing I would've expected (figured the tape would be to hold a ribbon in place or something). Have a slightly different TV so not sure if the issue will be similar but had to leave a comment to say this is really cool and helpful either way.

I had to be a bit more patient apparently. Taping the 3th and 4th from the left resulted in picture. The screen however seems to be only giving white/blueish colors. Any ideas what might cause this? Does this mean the screen is actually unrepairable?

thank you so much! i thought i was gonna have to throw out my brand new tv. to everyone that fixed the issue of restarting but has no picture/bad lines going through the screen, i was having the same problem but i just messed around with the tape on the spot that it needed to be until the picture came back clear. it took me a little while. also, try to make the tape as small as you can. i only have mine covering maybe 2-3 lines.
@tarrylamang Жыл бұрын
loved the way you ran through the process of diagnosing the fault and loved it more that a tape fixed the issue for me too. (i placed the tape exactly where you taped it in the video) Contacted Samsung and I was told my warranty ran out (its funny how things go wrong as soon as the warranty runs out - 6 months to be exact). And they were charging me £110 for inspection but the fix itself could be more. I will make sure that my next TV isn't going to be Samsung. I originally thought the fault was with the power supply board since the tv was failing to switch on and constantly rebooting. So I ordered a used replacement Power Supply Board from £40 from eBay. Which of course, did not work since it wasn't a Power Supply Board issue. (If only I had come across this video sooner, I wouldn't have had to go through the hassle of ordering and returning the PCB) Just as in the video, I followed the diagnosis steps and just as in the video, the fault was in the display flex and on the exact same pins (Seems to be a common issue judging by the number of views on this video and the positive comments in it). I am happy that this fixed for me. For how long this will work, only time will tell.
